BME</a> </div> </td> <td id="pContentNormal" colspan="2"> <div id="pTopsecret">This page is <a href="/guide.php?lang=en">public</a>.</div> <h1 id="cTitle">How to Contact Us</h1> <p>BMENET <i>central services</i>, the <i>backbone network</i>, and the <i>access network</i> (which connects the department networks to the backbone nodes) are operated, maintained and developed by the <a href="http://www.eik.bme.hu/index_en.html">Directorate of Informatics (IIG)</a> (formerly TIO, EISZK, EIK). The edge of the access network is the "entrance" of the departments.</p> <p>Internal networks of organisational units (departments, dormitories, etc.) are operated by the units themselves. The local system administrator can help with things related to departments' or dormitories' internal networks.</p> <p><h2>Troubleshooting</h2></p> <p>Network related problems and questions are dealt with by organizational units' system administrators and by IIG, whichever the affected network or service belongs to. Please choose the appropriate one according to those mentioned in the previous paragraphs.</p> <div class="cFloatNoticeBox">Please note that the English language oral skills of our operators are limited. We kindly ask you to <b>use e-mail</b> for error reports if possible.</div> <p>IIG runs its network operations center, staffed in <b>working hours</b> (Mon-Thu 8:00-17:00, Fri 8:00-14:30). Error reports about the BMENET backbone and central services are received by the <b>on-duty operator</b> on the <b><a href="tel:1616">16-16</a></b> extension (dial <a href="tel:+3614631616">+36 1 463-16-16</a> from outside of the university).
