However, this psychological impact can be minimized or even avoided through mental health and psychiatric care. Recently, research on the mental health of the general population and college students is at the core. However, this review aims to highlight this process, as it supports the development of public actions and policies aimed at communities and health teams. In this context, the objective of this study was to compile the literature on mental illness and psychological stress of students during the Covid-19 pandemic, to elucidate risk factors and possible interventions. Regarding the estimated prevalence of DAS was 76.1%, 71.5% and 70.1% with at least mild symptoms, 62.9%, 63.6% and 58.6% with at least moderate symptoms and 35, 2%, 40.3% and 37.7% with at least severe symptoms, respectively, 19.7%, 27.5% and 16.5% had at least severe symptoms, respectively. The results showed that all the studies selected from the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the analysis of psychological stress factors in health influence the anxiety in students, mainly in nursing and medicine college students, being significant and having an R of Pearson a very strong positive relationship related to anxiety and depression. This review corroborates that there is a high risk in relationships between mental health problems and factors related to COVID-19. However, women receive more support from family, friends and others, and men are more likely than women to experience symptoms of depression, anxiety and infectious disease outbreaks, the damage to mental health is often overlooked when compared to biological risks and treatments. However, this psychological impact can be minimized or even avoided through mental health and psychiatric care. Recently, research on the mental health of the general population and college students is at the core. However, this review aims to highlight this process, as it supports the development of public actions and policies aimed at communities and health teams. In this context, the objective of this study was to compile the literature on mental illness and psychological stress of students during the Covid-19 pandemic, to elucidate risk factors and possible interventions. Regarding the estimated prevalence of DAS was 76.1%, 71.5% and 70.1% with at least mild symptoms, 62.9%, 63.6% and 58.6% with at least moderate symptoms and 35, 2%, 40.3% and 37.7% with at least severe symptoms, respectively, 19.7%, 27.5% and 16.5% had at least severe symptoms, respectively. However, this psychological impact can be minimized or even avoided through mental health and psychiatric care. Recently, research on the mental health of the general population and college students is at the core. However, this review aims to highlight this process, as it supports the development of public actions and policies aimed at communities and health teams. In this context, the objective of this study was to compile the literature on mental illness and psychological stress of students during the Covid-19 pandemic, to elucidate risk factors and possible interventions. Regarding the estimated prevalence of DAS was 76.1%, 71.5% and 70.1% with at least mild symptoms, 62.9%, 63.6% and 58.6% with at least moderate symptoms and 35, 2%, 40.3% and 37.7% with at least severe symptoms, respectively, 19.7%, 27.5% and 16.5% had at least severe symptoms, respectively. The results showed that all the studies selected from the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the analysis of psychological stress factors in health influence the anxiety in students, mainly in nursing and medicine college students, being significant and having an R of Pearson a very strong positive relationship related to anxiety and depression. This review corroborates that there is a high risk in relationships between mental health problems and factors related to COVID-19. Thus, they may become vulnerable to have psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, and stress. The study aimed to investigate anxiety, depression, and stress rates among medical students during the pandemic of COVID-19 and the affecting factors. This cross-sectional study used DASS questionnaire online survey. 312 medical students, a total sampling in Muhammadiyah Palembang University participated in this study. The univariate analysis was used to determine the level of psychological problems while the bivariate analysis was carried out to determine the affecting factors. The study findings showed that 50.6% of the students reportedly had anxiety (12.2 % mild, 17.3% moderate, 10.9% severe, 10.3% very severe), 33% of the students had depression (13.5% mild, 11.9% moderate, 3.8% severe, 3.8% very severe), and 22.4% of the students had stress (10.6% mild, 9.3% moderate, 5.1% severe, 1.3% very severe). There were no differences between gender for anxiety, depression and stress (p=0.335, p=0.261, p=0.134 respectively). Junior students were more anxious than senior students (p=0.015). The coronavirus pandemic led to the closure of schools and colleges in March 2020. Medical and other schools shifted to online teaching-learning and assessment. Several factors have led to mental health problems among biomedical students. Objectives. This scoping review seeks to identify stressors, delineate subgroups of students who may be at greater risk of mental health problems, and examine possible recommendations by the respondents and the authors to reduce stress levels and support students. Methods. Eligibility criteria: studies published in English about the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the mental health of health science students till 15th January 2021 were included. Sources of evidence: research articles and other publications obtained using the databases PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Charting methods: the criteria studied were the type of paper and study, the country, the institution, the mental health parameters studied, types and numbers of students/ respondents involved, the main message, strengths and weaknesses and the main recommendation of the study. Results. Thirty articles were included. Stressors were divided into health, workplace, academic, general, and financial apprehensions. Respondents at greater risk were females, below 20 years of age, and those with family/friends infected. Among the authors' recommendations to reduce stress were implementing effective plans to safeguard students' health, especially of those who were parents or interns, engaging in physical activities, workshops for faculty members in online teaching-learning, financial support, online counselling, reducing misinformation, further studies at later stages of the pandemic, and including topics related to the pandemic and pandemic preparedness in the curriculum. Conclusions. Different types of apprehensions were responsible for stress and mental distress. Females, younger students, students with family and friends who were infected were at greater risk of problems. Recommendations were provided by the authors. Results: Out of 656 responses, 97(14.8%) were males and 559 (85.2%) were females. Most students reported moderate to high level of stress 603(91.92%) and anxiety 571(87.04%) .Higher prevalence of perceived stress and anxiety was found in age group of 20-23 years and associated with various factors including living with family, daily internet use of >8hrs, and not involved in any physical activity. Regarding Coorelation of anxiety with with GPA was (r=0.105, p=0.007) and physical exercise was (r=0.107, p=0.005). However coorelation of stress with GPA was (r=0.115, p=0.003) and physical exercise was (r=0.085, p=0.030). Conclusion: Majority participants showed moderate to severe level of stress and anxiety, which was more in females. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study of medical students using the DASS-21 questionnaire. Risk factors for SDA were assessed based on epidemiologic questions related to COVID-19. Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) curves were calculated for each predictor, as well as sensitivity and speci city. Results: responses were received, with a 77.5% prevalence of any SDA disorder, 63% being severe. Prior diagnosis of psychiatric disorder was the factor with higher OR (OR 2.78 CI95% 1.44-14.25, p=0.044) for anxiety, as well as for depression (OR 3.37 CI95% 1.98-6.02, p<0.001). Prior psychiatric illness (OR 3.70 CI95% 2.21-6.44, p= 0.001), having a chronic illness (OR 2.09, CI95% 1.19-3.83, p=0.013) and male gender (OR 0.56 CI95% 0.37-0.86, p=0.009) were independently associated with the outcome for stress. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic had effects on the mental health of medical students, with previous psychiatric disorder and the presence of chronic illness being the main risk factors. this, the student receives responsibilities, duties, and deadlines, which most of the time they were not used to 10,11. In studies conducted with medical students, it has been shown that rates of stress and depression are higher in this audience than in the general population 10-15. The pandemic of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) may be an aggravating factor for the worsening of this reality, since the teaching institutions had to use new teaching methods, and the students, with their singularities and di culties, had to adapt to have access to education and ful ll the proposed activities 16-18. Based on these facts, our study hypothesized that our students became more depressed, anxious and stressed, mainly due social, epidemiological and educational factors that were forced to change dure to the pandemic COVID-19. Therefore, this study aimed to establish relationships between the pandemic and the mental health of medical students, understanding how in uences occur and how each element is affected. This study assessed mental health and teaching aspects in medical students during quarantine imposed due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Methods This is a cross-sectional observational study with a non-probability convenience sampling design. After approval by the Research Ethics Committee (CAAE 35666820.2.0000.0068), medical students regularly enrolled in higher education institutions were invited to participate. The survey was disseminated digitally, including mailings to WhatsApp® groups, which contained medical students or professors from medical schools, and emailed to medical societies that had some interface with academics. Each participant was asked to forward to fellow medical students enrolled in Brazilian medical schools. After 30 days of the rst dissemination, a new dissemination was made. The collection of responses was conducted until no more responses were received for a period longer than seven days, which meant opening on August 10, 2020 and closing on October 5, 2020 (55 days). Participants answered the DASS-21 form (21 items) (Appendix 1) and the epidemiological questions (16 items) (Appendix 2), which covered issues related to mental health during quarantine by COVID-19 and social and academic aspects.
