Conference on Fluvial Sedimentology has been held almost in all the continents. After more than 40 years, the ICFS is still the most relevant international platform where the fluvial sedimentology community can meet and debate. <br>The ICFS is an outstanding window on the questions posed by the academic research and on the application of scientific concepts and tools to the needs of society. <br>The scientific community joining the ICFS has been growing, and in the last editions also geomorphologists, engineers and ecologists presented researches with different viewpoints on the processes, deposits and landforms that are connected to the fluvial systems. Riva del Garda is an old town located at the northernmost reach of the Garda Lake, at the southern edge of the Italian Alps. The mountains surrounding the lake make Riva del Garda an excellent base for exploring the area. The Garda Lake ferries call regularly and allow one to visit all the coasts and towns. Riva del Garda is a popular holiday location, and is properly equipped for sailing and windsurfing, but also for rock climbing and mountain biking. As a touristic place, Riva del Garda can accommodate people with large venues spanning from B&Bs to large hotels. Riva del Garda can be easily reached. The nearest airport is in Verona (80 km), which has very good connections with the main European cities. Airports of Venice, Bologna, Milan-Malpensa, Treviso, Innsbruck are about 200 km far, while airport of Bergamo is at 130 km. Busses and trains offer frequent connections from airports to the town.
