It began as a record shop in <a href="/wiki/Denver,_Colorado" class="mw-redirect" title="Denver, Colorado">Denver, Colorado</a>, opened by life partners Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher, who sold the store in 1978 and moved to Chicago.
