Internet plays an important role in our lives. It provide us with a method to connect to important others in our lives.this study was conducted to establish the kinds of activities that adolescents performed on the internet and length of the time they spend on the internet in order to know the effects of internet on adolescents. The study was conducted on 100 adolescents comprising 50 boys and 50 girls of Guru Nanak Academy school of faizabad. The result revealed that boys used more internet as compare to girls. There is both positive and negative effects of internet on girls and boys. Boys had spend more time on internet than girls. Adolescents engage in internet chat rooms and reveal their personal information to people they meet online. The positive impact of Internet includes increase in knowledge, awareness and gain of more confidence. The negative aspects of the Internet include Internet addiction as well as online risks such as exposure to sexually explicit material and online victimization including harassment or cyber bullying For this purpose 160 girls of class 10th were selected from Ranchi district. Self-prepared personal data sheet, Mental health Questionnaire (MHQ) developed by O. N. Srivastava and Bhatt and Emotional maturity scale developed by Singh and Bhargawa were administered on selected sample for data collection. Obtained scores were analyzed with the help of Mean, SD, t test and correlation. The result show that there were significant difference between Internet addict girls and Non addict girl`s mental health and Emotional maturity. The statistical population of the study was 90 students of Shahid Modarres Girls School of Chenaran city. Considering the number of the population, the complete enumeration method was used to distribute the questionnaire. In general, two major methods of library and field methods have been used to collect data. The research questionnaire consisted of 55 items in two parts: cyberspace with 30 questions taken from Zendaniyan et.al (2013) and the lifestyle consisted of 99 items from Laali et al. (2012) research which was reduced to 25 items in Foroutan study (2013). SPSS 21 software was used for statistical analysis and Pearson correlation and regression methods were used to test the hypotheses. The reliability of the whole research tool based on Cronbach&#39;s alpha coefficient is 0.90. As the growing phenomenon of vast browsing of the Internet; now-a-days researchers are trying to identify what are the impacts of heavy Internet usage, specifically for the young adults. A previous study has found 83.4% of the frequent Internet users’ age between twenty years to forty years.
