Many of these fields are founded in object-oriented theory and technology - all are related to object orientation in one way or another. The R&D labs of major companies as well as universities devote a great deal effort to research on hot topics in object orientation. For both the professional developer and the researcher, it is important to keep up with the current state of the art and to anticipate new technologies that might have an impact on future software development.</p> <p>ECOOP provides a platform for software developers and researchers so that both can benefit from each other.
