Det empiriske udgangspunkt er internetforummet Ihatestarbucks.com, hvor Starbucks-baristaer bl.a. beretter om, hvordan de som kritisk praksis serverer koffeinfri kaffe til kunder, der har bestilt almindelig kaffe. Det teoretiske afsæt er Slavoj Žižeks begrebsapaprat og Allesia Contus skitsering af fænomenet decaf resistance, der afprøves vha. begreberne kynisme, ideologisk fantasme og jouissance. Artiklen konkluderer, at disse žižekianske perspektiver er frugtbare ift. at afdække den enkelte medarbejders subjektive investering i sin kritik, samt hvorledes kritik kan bidrage til at understøtte status quo. Svagheden ved det žižekianske teoriapparat er imidlertid, at det bliver svært at få øje på andet end konserverende og konformistisk koffeinfri kritik, da idealet for transformativ radikal kritik, det revolutionære real act, i praksis er yderst vanskeligt at realisere. Derved mister perspektivet en vis empirisk sensibilitet overfor de interne forskelle imellem de mange forskellige kritikformer, der over en kam klassificeres som Dette er forklaret ved, at i det heteronormative samfund er kønsrollerne eller hvad køn er, kan eller bør vaere eksplicit til stede. Men allerede omkring 1900 eksisterede der side om side flere kvindelige praksisser for alkoholbrug: Den &#39;normale&#39; kvinde var tilbageholdende, men hun kunne bruge alkoholen til at udfordre sin kvindelighed -enten som middel til overlevelse i kvinderollen, hvis hun da ikke som den emanciperede kvinde overtog en del af mandens attributter og dermed søgte at skabe ligeret og -stilling med manden i forhold til alkohol. Dermed satte kvinden retten til alkohol til forhandling som en del af ligestillingsprojektet. Nyere fokus på skadeligheden af isaer kvindernes alkoholkonsumption er med stor gennemslagskraft ved at genintroducere den traditionelle biologiske kvindelighed, og som en konsekvens heraf også en mere restriktiv holdning til kvinders nydelse af alkohol som en del af velfaerdsprojektet -med en mulig ny stigmatisering af kvinders alkoholnydelse til følge. However around 1900 we have several female practices for alcohol consumption: The &#39;normal&#39; women was temperate, but she could use alcohol to revolt against her femininity either to practice a high alcohol consumption in secret to owercome her femininity or to drink in public in order to use alcohol a male attribure as a symbol of emancipation asking for gender equality in relation to alcohol. Thus the the construction of gender and alcohol has constantely been negotiable. New focus on the damage of alcohol consumption has successfully reintroduced the biological gender and as a consequence also a temperate female consumption patterns as an important part of the realization of the modern welfare project. Ved at saette fokus på den husstandstaenkning og kaldsopfattelse, som er vokset ud af trestandslaerens oeconomia-forståelse, åbner der sig en sideløbende historie. Den handler om religiøse, kvindelige sociale entreprenører, som inden for rammerne af hjem-metaforen ivaerksaetter en lang raekke af velfaerdssamfundets institutioner: børne-, pige-og ungdomshjem, mødre-spaedbørnshjem, vuggestuer og fritidshjem, plejehjem, hjemme-og sundhedspleje, uddannelsessteder og seminarier. Fagbevægelsen har dog kun formået at organisere et mindretal af de nye arbejdsmigranter, men derimod haft en vis succes med at få tiltag mod social dumping ind i overenskomsterne. Der har dog også været grænser for partssamarbejdet om dette emne. Det er også lykkedes fagbevægelsen at få en ganske betydelig politisk bevågenhed omkring social dumping.
