audiovisual digitisation of poetry, providing links to some of the 30 poems and 30 mini-interviews of the videos of the Open Educational Resources (OER) collection “Las flechas de Ártemis” (“The Arrows of Ártemis”). Antonio discusses the educational rationale behind this initiative and suggests a framing for 21st Century poetry that accounts for the old and the new in the Age of Technological Eversion. It also examines the educational potential of ASF from the perspective of the lecturer against the backdrop of the Marketisation of Higher Education, the crisis of Writing as a mode and recent conceptual debates in the field of assessment and feedback. It then proposes a new set of categories to enable the reader to have a comprehensive understanding of the affordances of ASF and discusses five case studies of lecturers who have trialled it. Although the research is still ongoing, there is sufficient data to advance a rich typology for this type of practice, which will help software developers as well as educators to understand the full range of affordances of this type of tool and cater for the needs of students and teachers. A reflection on the wider humanistic significance of screencast feedback is advanced by presenting audio-visual feedback as a new genre in the making that empowers tutors and facilitates communication of complex ideas through enhanced multimodality. The practical consequences for the institutions of adopting this practice, for instance the need to integrate platforms and create new workflows, are considered. Suggestions such as the decoupling of feedback from grades, which came about during the author's trailing of the tool are also discussed. Educational Resources. Through the process of production, learners developed their critical and practical understanding of Oral History and Migration by working with OpenLIVES interviews and other OER. Learners also carried out interviews with new research informants, produced their own audio documentaries on Spanish migration based on acquisition, meaningful learning and knowledge transfer, as they reuse OER and share their own research data, insights and knowledge with the open global community in OER repositories. Student generated materials were then added to the original collection of resources. In addition to the provision of work placements and careers support and advice, graduate skills and attributes are being embedded in the academic curriculum. Students, curriculum designers and tutors alike are now sharing responsibilities in the area of employability with Careers Service professionals and employers. In parallel to these transformations, the Open Education Movement, which is challenging the market-based system of knowledge production, has grown in strength and students are now being invited to produce Open Educational Resources (OER) as part of their courses. With the new developments in the field of research-engaged teaching by leading practitioners' such as M. Neary and M. Healey in mind, research-spun OER produced by students present a new world of opportunities for the transformation of their education experience and the radical redefinition of curricular employability. The Digital Oral History project OpenLIVES, funded by JISC, is currently addressing all these issues in the area of Modern Languages and Cultures (Spanish) through several pedagogical applications developed at the three participating universities (Leeds, Portsmouth and Southampton). In this paper, the experience accumulated with students at the University of Leeds OpenLIVES final year module (Discovering Spanish Voices Abroad in a Digital World) will be shared and discussed with participants. Como parte del mismo se recogieron unas 30 horas de testimonios orales de personas que habían abandonado España, unas durante la niñez como consecuencia de la Guerra Civil (1936-1939) y otras durante las tres décadas siguientes, bajo el régimen dictatorial de Franco. El fruto editorial académico de algunas de estas historias de vida vio la luz en 2012 en forma de libro . Sin embargo, estas narraciones, con su grandeza experiencial y emocional, le hacían sombra a cualquier libro que de ellas se pudiera escribir. Por eso, en la propia Universidad de Southampton se consideró la posibilidad de darles a las entrevistas un uso educativo más radical. De ahí surgió la idea de Kate Borthwick y Ali Dickens, colegas de Alicia en la Universidad de Southampton y especialistas en R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) de digitalizarlas, previa comunicación con los entrevistados, y ponerlas a disposición de educadores y estudiantes para fines de investigación y docencia. Al tratarse de un trabajo que requería recursos adicionales y que tenía un gran potencial como fuente de nuevos materiales educativos, se tomó la decisión de crear un equipo con investigadores de otras dos universidades, la Universidad de Leeds y la Universidad de Portsmouth, y solicitar financiación pública. Se seleccionaron estas dos universidades ya que dos profesores de lengua y cultura española de las mismas, Miguel Arrebola (Portsmouth) y el autor de este capítulo (Leeds), habían trabajado previamente en la puesta en marcha del repositorio de R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) para Artes y Humanidades “HumBox” bajo los auspicios de Southampton. Allí coincidieron con educadores del resto del país que participaban en HumBox y adquirieron experiencia notable en el campo de la innovación pedagógica en el ámbito digital. A este proyecto de Historia Oral Digital se le dio el nombre de OpenLIVES (Learning Insights from the Voices of Emigres from Spain). <br /> <br />En el año 2011 OpenLIVES recibió una beca de la agencia británica para tecnología aplicada a la educación JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee) y se convertía así en uno de los proyectos de R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) seleccionados como parte del llamado OER-3 (Digital Capital, Strand A) . El objetivo de este programa estatal era darle vida digital a colecciones de contenidos con alto potencial educativo y crear recursos para el aprendizaje y la enseñanza que pusieran en valor dichos contenidos. <br /> <br />El equipo OpenLIVES se puso en marcha y entre 2011 y 2013 se realizaron los siguientes trabajos como parte del proyecto: <br /> <br />a) Transcripción y digitalización de historias de vida orales procedentes del proyecto “Tales of return” dirigido por Alicia Pozo-Gutierrez; <br />b) Puesta a disposición de la Comunidad Educativa Global de estas entrevistas en forma de R.E.A. con licencia para uso no comercial de Creative Commons que permitiera derivativos (CC BY-NC-SA) ; <br />c) Producción de una serie de materiales educativos en línea para la explotación didáctica de esos recursos, reutilizables y reprogramables, en una gran variedad de disciplinas de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales, más allá de los confines del hispanismo. <br /> <br />El proyecto OpenLIVES ha generado numerosas ponencias y artículos. En uno de ellos, titulado “Liberación en la Pedagogía Critica OpenLIVES: Empoderamiento y Acción Crítica” , se analizaban los aspectos más destacados de la asignatura “Discovering Spanish Voices Abroad in a Digital World” de la Universidad de Leeds, que fue una de las aplicaciones pedagógicas del Proyecto OpenLIVES de esta universidad. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) de digitalizarlas, previa comunicación con los entrevistados, y ponerlas a disposición de educadores y estudiantes para fines de investigación y docencia. Al tratarse de un trabajo que requería recursos adicionales y que tenía un gran potencial como fuente de nuevos materiales educativos, se tomó la decisión de crear un equipo con investigadores de otras dos universidades, la Universidad de Leeds y la Universidad de Portsmouth, y solicitar financiación pública. Se seleccionaron estas dos universidades ya que dos profesores de lengua y cultura española de las mismas, Miguel Arrebola (Portsmouth) y el autor de este capítulo (Leeds), habían trabajado previamente en la puesta en marcha del repositorio de R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) para Artes y Humanidades “HumBox” bajo los auspicios de Southampton. Allí coincidieron con educadores del resto del país que participaban en HumBox y adquirieron experiencia notable en el campo de la innovación pedagógica en el ámbito digital. A este proyecto de Historia Oral Digital se le dio el nombre de OpenLIVES (Learning Insights from the Voices of Emigres from Spain). \r\n\r\nEn el año 2011 OpenLIVES recibió una beca de la agencia británica para tecnología aplicada a la educación JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee) y se convertía así en uno de los proyectos de R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) seleccionados como parte del llamado OER-3 (Digital Capital, Strand A) . Antonio discusses the educational rationale behind this initiative and suggests a framing for 21st Century poetry that accounts for the old and the new in the Age of Technological Eversion. It also examines the educational potential of ASF from the perspective of the lecturer against the backdrop of the Marketisation of Higher Education, the crisis of Writing as a mode and recent conceptual debates in the field of assessment and feedback. It then proposes a new set of categories to enable the reader to have a comprehensive understanding of the affordances of ASF and discusses five case studies of lecturers who have trialled it. Although the research is still ongoing, there is sufficient data to advance a rich typology for this type of practice, which will help software developers as well as educators to understand the full range of affordances of this type of tool and cater for the needs of students and teachers. A reflection on the wider humanistic significance of screencast feedback is advanced by presenting audio-visual feedback as a new genre in the making that empowers tutors and facilitates communication of complex ideas through enhanced multimodality. The practical consequences for the institutions of adopting this practice, for instance the need to integrate platforms and create new workflows, are considered. Suggestions such as the decoupling of feedback from grades, which came about during the author's trailing of the tool are also discussed. Educational Resources. Through the process of production, learners developed their critical and practical understanding of Oral History and Migration by working with OpenLIVES interviews and other OER. Learners also carried out interviews with new research informants, produced their own audio documentaries on Spanish migration based on acquisition, meaningful learning and knowledge transfer, as they reuse OER and share their own research data, insights and knowledge with the open global community in OER repositories. Student generated materials were then added to the original collection of resources. In addition to the provision of work placements and careers support and advice, graduate skills and attributes are being embedded in the academic curriculum. Students, curriculum designers and tutors alike are now sharing responsibilities in the area of employability with Careers Service professionals and employers. In parallel to these transformations, the Open Education Movement, which is challenging the market-based system of knowledge production, has grown in strength and students are now being invited to produce Open Educational Resources (OER) as part of their courses. With the new developments in the field of research-engaged teaching by leading practitioners' such as M. Neary and M. Healey in mind, research-spun OER produced by students present a new world of opportunities for the transformation of their education experience and the radical redefinition of curricular employability. The Digital Oral History project OpenLIVES, funded by JISC, is currently addressing all these issues in the area of Modern Languages and Cultures (Spanish) through several pedagogical applications developed at the three participating universities (Leeds, Portsmouth and Southampton). In this paper, the experience accumulated with students at the University of Leeds OpenLIVES final year module (Discovering Spanish Voices Abroad in a Digital World) will be shared and discussed with participants. Como parte del mismo se recogieron unas 30 horas de testimonios orales de personas que habían abandonado España, unas durante la niñez como consecuencia de la Guerra Civil (1936-1939) y otras durante las tres décadas siguientes, bajo el régimen dictatorial de Franco. El fruto editorial académico de algunas de estas historias de vida vio la luz en 2012 en forma de libro . Sin embargo, estas narraciones, con su grandeza experiencial y emocional, le hacían sombra a cualquier libro que de ellas se pudiera escribir. Por eso, en la propia Universidad de Southampton se consideró la posibilidad de darles a las entrevistas un uso educativo más radical. De ahí surgió la idea de Kate Borthwick y Ali Dickens, colegas de Alicia en la Universidad de Southampton y especialistas en R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) de digitalizarlas, previa comunicación con los entrevistados, y ponerlas a disposición de educadores y estudiantes para fines de investigación y docencia. Al tratarse de un trabajo que requería recursos adicionales y que tenía un gran potencial como fuente de nuevos materiales educativos, se tomó la decisión de crear un equipo con investigadores de otras dos universidades, la Universidad de Leeds y la Universidad de Portsmouth, y solicitar financiación pública. Se seleccionaron estas dos universidades ya que dos profesores de lengua y cultura española de las mismas, Miguel Arrebola (Portsmouth) y el autor de este capítulo (Leeds), habían trabajado previamente en la puesta en marcha del repositorio de R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) para Artes y Humanidades “HumBox” bajo los auspicios de Southampton. Allí coincidieron con educadores del resto del país que participaban en HumBox y adquirieron experiencia notable en el campo de la innovación pedagógica en el ámbito digital. A este proyecto de Historia Oral Digital se le dio el nombre de OpenLIVES (Learning Insights from the Voices of Emigres from Spain). <br /> <br />En el año 2011 OpenLIVES recibió una beca de la agencia británica para tecnología aplicada a la educación JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee) y se convertía así en uno de los proyectos de R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) seleccionados como parte del llamado OER-3 (Digital Capital, Strand A) . El objetivo de este programa estatal era darle vida digital a colecciones de contenidos con alto potencial educativo y crear recursos para el aprendizaje y la enseñanza que pusieran en valor dichos contenidos. <br /> <br />El equipo OpenLIVES se puso en marcha y entre 2011 y 2013 se realizaron los siguientes trabajos como parte del proyecto: <br /> <br />a) Transcripción y digitalización de historias de vida orales procedentes del proyecto “Tales of return” dirigido por Alicia Pozo-Gutierrez; <br />b) Puesta a disposición de la Comunidad Educativa Global de estas entrevistas en forma de R.E.A. con licencia para uso no comercial de Creative Commons que permitiera derivativos (CC BY-NC-SA) ; <br />c) Producción de una serie de materiales educativos en línea para la explotación didáctica de esos recursos, reutilizables y reprogramables, en una gran variedad de disciplinas de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales, más allá de los confines del hispanismo. <br /> <br />El proyecto OpenLIVES ha generado numerosas ponencias y artículos. En uno de ellos, titulado “Liberación en la Pedagogía Critica OpenLIVES: Empoderamiento y Acción Crítica” , se analizaban los aspectos más destacados de la asignatura “Discovering Spanish Voices Abroad in a Digital World” de la Universidad de Leeds, que fue una de las aplicaciones pedagógicas del Proyecto OpenLIVES de esta universidad. Como parte del mismo se recogieron unas 30 horas de testimonios orales de personas que habían abandonado España, unas durante la niñez como consecuencia de la Guerra Civil (1936-1939) y otras durante las tres décadas siguientes, bajo el régimen dictatorial de Franco. El fruto editorial académico de algunas de estas historias de vida vio la luz en 2012 en forma de libro . Sin embargo, estas narraciones, con su grandeza experiencial y emocional, le hacían sombra a cualquier libro que de ellas se pudiera escribir. Por eso, en la propia Universidad de Southampton se consideró la posibilidad de darles a las entrevistas un uso educativo más radical. De ahí surgió la idea de Kate Borthwick y Ali Dickens, colegas de Alicia en la Universidad de Southampton y especialistas en R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) de digitalizarlas, previa comunicación con los entrevistados, y ponerlas a disposición de educadores y estudiantes para fines de investigación y docencia. Al tratarse de un trabajo que requería recursos adicionales y que tenía un gran potencial como fuente de nuevos materiales educativos, se tomó la decisión de crear un equipo con investigadores de otras dos universidades, la Universidad de Leeds y la Universidad de Portsmouth, y solicitar financiación pública. Se seleccionaron estas dos universidades ya que dos profesores de lengua y cultura española de las mismas, Miguel Arrebola (Portsmouth) y el autor de este capítulo (Leeds), habían trabajado previamente en la puesta en marcha del repositorio de R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) para Artes y Humanidades “HumBox” bajo los auspicios de Southampton. Allí coincidieron con educadores del resto del país que participaban en HumBox y adquirieron experiencia notable en el campo de la innovación pedagógica en el ámbito digital. A este proyecto de Historia Oral Digital se le dio el nombre de OpenLIVES (Learning Insights from the Voices of Emigres from Spain). \r\n\r\nEn el año 2011 OpenLIVES recibió una beca de la agencia británica para tecnología aplicada a la educación JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee) y se convertía así en uno de los proyectos de R.E.A. (Recursos Educativos Abiertos) seleccionados como parte del llamado OER-3 (Digital Capital, Strand A) . El objetivo de este programa estatal era darle vida digital a colecciones de contenidos con alto potencial educativo y crear recursos para el aprendizaje y la enseñanza que pusieran en valor dichos contenidos. \r\n\r\nEl equipo OpenLIVES se puso en marcha y entre 2011 y 2013 se realizaron los siguientes trabajos como parte del proyecto: \r\n\r\na)\tTranscripción y digitalización de historias de vida orales procedentes del proyecto “Tales of return” dirigido por Alicia Pozo-Gutierrez; \r\nb)\tPuesta a disposición de la Comunidad Educativa Global de estas entrevistas en forma de R.E.A. con licencia para uso no comercial de Creative Commons que permitiera derivativos (CC BY-NC-SA) ;\r\nc)\tProducción de una serie de materiales educativos en línea para la explotación didáctica de esos recursos, reutilizables y reprogramables, en una gran variedad de disciplinas de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales, más allá de los confines del hispanismo. \r\n\r\nEl proyecto OpenLIVES ha generado numerosas ponencias y artículos. En uno de ellos, titulado “Liberación en la Pedagogía Critica OpenLIVES: Empoderamiento y Acción Crítica” , se analizaban los aspectos más destacados de la asignatura “Discovering Spanish Voices Abroad in a Digital World” de la Universidad de Leeds, que fue una de las aplicaciones pedagógicas del Proyecto OpenLIVES de esta universidad.
