Do not keep moving from house to house. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And into whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat whatever they set before you; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And heal those who are sick in it, and say to them, The kingdom of God is come near to you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>But into whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into the street and say, <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>Even the sand of your city which cleaves to our feet, we shake it off to you; but know this that the kingdom of God has come near to you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>I say to you, that it will be much easier for Sodom in that day than for that city.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the mighty works which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, perhaps they might have repented with sackcloth and ashes. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>But, it will be easier for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment day than for you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And you, Capernaum, which have exalted yourself up to heaven, you will be brought down to Sheol.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>He who hears you hears me; and he who oppresses you oppresses me; and he who oppresses me oppresses him who sent me.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>So the seventy whom he had sent returned with great joy, and they said to him, Our Lord, even the demons have submitted to us in your name. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>He said to them, I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>Behold, I give you power, to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall harm you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>But do not rejoice in this that the demons submit to you; but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>At that very hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, I thank you, O my Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you did hide these things from the wise and men of understanding, and did reveal them to children; yes, my Father, for so it was well pleasing in your presence. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And he turned to his disciples and said to them, Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no man knows who is the Son, except the Father; and who is the Father except the Son, and to whomever the Son wishes to reveal him.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>Then he turned to his disciples alone and said, Blessed are the eyes which see what you see. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>For I say to you, that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And behold, a scribe stood up to test him, and he said, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>Jesus said to him, What is written in the law? how do you read it? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>He answered and said to him, You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>Jesus said to him, You said the truth; do this and you shall live. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>But as he wanted to justify himself, he said to him, And who is my neighbor?<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>Jesus said to him, There was a man who went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and the bandits attacked him, and robbed him, and beat him, and left him with little life remaining in him, and they went away. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>And it chanced a priest was going down that road; and he saw him and passed on. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>And likewise a Levite came and arrived at that place, and saw him and passed on. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion on him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-34.htm#aramaic"><b>34</b></a></span>And he came to him and bound up his wounds, and poured on them wine and oil; and he put him on his own ass, and brought him to the inn, and took care of him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-35.htm#aramaic"><b>35</b></a></span>And in the morning, he took out two pennies and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatever you spend more, when I return, I will give it to you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-36.htm#aramaic"><b>36</b></a></span>Who therefore of these three, appears to you, became neighbor to him who fell into the hands of the bandits? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-37.htm#aramaic"><b>37</b></a></span>He said, The one who had compassion on him. Jesus said to him, You go also, and do the same.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-38.htm#aramaic"><b>38</b></a></span>And it came to pass while they were journeying, he entered into a village; and a woman named Martha received him into her house. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-39.htm#aramaic"><b>39</b></a></span>And she had a sister whose name was Mary, and she came and sat at the feet of our Lord, and listened to his words. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-40.htm#aramaic"><b>40</b></a></span>But Martha was busy with many household cares, and she came and said to him, My Lord, you do not seem to care that my sister has left me to serve alone? tell her to help me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-41.htm#aramaic"><b>41</b></a></span>Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are worried and excited about many things; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/10-42.htm#aramaic"><b>42</b></a></span>But one thing is more necessary; and Mary has chosen the good portion for herself, which shall not be taken away from her.<p><br /></div></div><div id="botbox"><div class="padbot"><div align="center">Holy Bible From The Ancient Eastern Texts: Aramaic Of The Peshitta by George M.
