I am always treated kindly and taken into an exam room promptly. I have rarely had to wait more than a very few minutes, and then only in the case of an event that could not have been foreseen. In Dr. Matathia's office I am always made to feel that I am the most important patient she has and in this profit-driven health insurance age, it is very unusual to feel as though your doctor has all the time you need to discuss anything you want/need clarified. I have developed several very concerning health problems over the past few years. I now see, in addition to Dr. Matathia (my PCP), several specialists, including a Rheumatologist and a Critical Care Pulmonologist. Dr. Matathia oversees everything and is often in contact with one of my Specialists to review some test, consult on some new medication or numerous other things. I have complete confidence in her recommendations and know that she has often taken time out of her own personal time to follow up with me or one of my other doctors. I'm not an easy patient to care for - I read every word of every note, referral, test results and anything else I can find on the Gateway and have an almost obsessive need to understand exactly what it all means. I am deeply grateful that Dr. Matathia is always willing to answer any question I have and, in the rare case that she isn't positive about the answer, she researches the question and follows up with me to let me know what she learned.
