style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>Why is the MMEG grant targeted to women from developing countries?</strong> Our mission is to assist women from developing countries who are pursuing their education with the aim of improving the lives of women and children in developing countries. Certificate, undergrad, grad, or postdoc students are welcome to apply. </p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">*(For the Trinity Washington University program ONLY, US citizens, green card holders and undocumented US residents are eligible to apply, in addition to international students).</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>Can I apply if I am not yet 25 years old? </strong>Applicants are required to be <strong>at least 25 years old</strong> at the time of the application deadline (see deadlines for each specific program).</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"> <strong>I have been accepted/admitted to study at a US/Canada university, but I am not yet enrolled. Can I apply? </strong>Applicants are required to be officially enrolled in their university at the time of application and to provide proof of this enrollment. </p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>I do not have all the required documents listed on the </strong><a href="/application-checklist"><span style="text-decoration:underline"><strong>Application Checklist</strong></span><strong> </strong></a><strong>page. Can I still apply?</strong> Applicants are required to submit all requested documents by the close of the application period. Failure to do so will result in the ineligibility of the application, i.e., automatic exclusion of the applicant. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>What is the difference between acceptance (or admission) and enrollment? </strong>Acceptance (or admission) into a university means that a student’s application to the university has been approved and that she is authorized to enroll. Enrollment takes place following acceptance (or admission). An enrolled student has registered for classes, submitted all required documents, is listed in the university’s rosters, and is attending classes. The university registrar’s office is able to provide documented proof of enrollment.</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>Can I apply if I am a part-time student? </strong>Part-time students (minimum of 2 courses per semester or term) may apply to the South Africa, Latin America and Caribbean, and Trinity Washington University programs. Applicants to the US-Canada program must be full-time students to be eligible.</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>What is a "full academic term"? </strong>This is understood as a complete academic grading period at your university, whether a semester, quarter, or known by another name, depending on the countries where MMEG has programs.</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>How much money is provided by MMEG? </strong>In past years, grants of up to US$15,000 have been awarded in the US-Canada program, up to US$7,000 in the South Africa, Latin America and Caribbean programs, up to $7500 in the Trinity Washington University program, and US$5,000 in the France program. <strong>Grant amounts may vary, based on exchange rates and availability of funds.</strong></p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>When do successful applicants receive grant funding?</strong> Grant funds are disbursed in May and June for the US-Canada and Trinity Washington University programs, in February for the South Africa program, and in February and March for the Latin America and Caribbean program.</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>When will I be notified about the outcome of my application?</strong> ONLY semi-finalists are contacted for a telephone or video interview, two to three months after the application deadline, and will be kept apprised of the outcome. The results are announced on MMEG’s website in April for the US-Canada and Trinity Washington University programs, mid-December for the South Africa program, and mid-January for the Latin America and Caribbean program.</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>What should I do if my recommender/referee did not receive an email from the online application software (Embark)? </strong>Please ask recommender/referee to 1) verify that pop-up blocker is turned off on their computer; 2) check their email spam folder; 3) write to MMEG to request that an individual link be resent. </p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>My program does not require a thesis/dissertation. How can I answer the question: “A summary of your thesis/dissertation that includes the objective, methodology and expected results and explains the link with your career.” in the Academic Information Section ? </strong>If your program does not require a thesis, you should describe how your current academic studies link with your future professional/ volunteer service goals.</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>Can I apply more than once?</strong> If unsuccessful in obtaining a grant, applicants may re-apply in the future.</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>Can I receive the grant more than once? </strong>Recipients of the MMEG grant are not eligible to reapply.</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><strong>My university or the country where I am studying is not listed among the programs.
