Transfer Requirements</span></a><meta property="position" content="5"></span></div> <h1> Graduate Course Transfer Requirements </h1> </header> <div class="wsu-article__content"> <p>You must work closely with your advisor to:</p> <ol><li>Fill out a <a href="http://school.eecs.wsu.edu/documents/2020/07/petition-to-transfer-graduate-coursework.pdf">Petition to Transfer Graduate Coursework (PDF)</a> for your entire request submission,</li><li>Fill out a <a href="http://school.eecs.wsu.edu/documents/2020/07/transfer-course-request-form.pdf">Transfer Course Request Form (PDF)</a> for <strong>each</strong> course you are attempting to transfer, and</li><li>Submit a <a href="http://school.eecs.wsu.edu/documents/2020/07/program-of-study-draft.pdf">Program of Study Draft (PDF)</a> including your requested courses, as the purpose of a course transfer request is to use the course on your program of study.</li></ol> <p>A syllabus and any supporting material you have must be submitted with your transfer request. Do not submit more than the maximum course transfers for review: five for Ph.D. and two for M.S. If you submit more courses than you are allowed to transfer, your request will be denied.</p> <p>All course transfers are subject to the rules set in the <a href="https://gradschool.wsu.edu/policies-procedures/">Graduate School Policies and Procedures Manual</a> as well as the rules in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science <a href="http://school.eecs.wsu.edu/academics/graduate-program/current-students/#handbook">Graduate Program Handbook</a>.</p> <p>Once all forms are complete and signed, submit them to the Graduate Coordinator (EME 303). <strong>Please note that this process can take several months for completion.</strong></p> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">For Graduate Students in Power Engineering</h2> <p>The rules for allowing transfer of graduate credits from another university to WSU are set by the Graduate School and can be found in the graduate handbook. These are not affected by the following procedures.</p> <p>The large number of graduate students in power engineering has resulted in an increasing number of applications for such transfers; thus, the power group would like to streamline the process by following these procedural steps.</p> <ol><li>The purpose of transferring credits is to include them in the program of study. So the application to transfer credits must be accompanied by a program of study, i.e. the application for the transfer of credits and the program of study will be approved simultaneously.</li><li>The application for the transfer of credits filled out by the student must be accompanied by an evaluation and justification, for each course to be transferred, by the supervising professor. If the supervising professor is not familiar with the material in a course to be transferred, s/he can confer with a professor with the right expertise and use that with proper attribution to evaluate and justify the transfer.</li><li>The program of study to which the transfer application is appended must be signed by the faculty committee as usual. These signatures will now mean that the whole committee agrees to the program of study including these transfers.</li><li>All programs of study that include credit transfers will be then given to Prof. Anjan Bose who will check the evaluation and justification of the transfers before sending it to the graduate coordinator of EECS.
