The convolution between operators and the convolution between a function and an operator provide a conceptual framework for the theory of localization operators which is complemented by an appropriate Fourier transform, the Fourier-Wigner transform. We link the Hausdorff-Young inequality for the Fourier-Wigner transform with Lieb&rsquo;s inequality for ambiguity functions. Noncommutative Tauberian theorems due to <span class="zbmathjax-textit">R. Werner</span> [J. Math. Phys. 25, 1404&ndash;1411 (1984; <a href="/0557.43003">Zbl&nbsp;0557.43003</a>)] allow us to extend results of <span class="zbmathjax-textit">D. Bayer</span> and <span class="zbmathjax-textit">K. Gröchenig</span> [Integral Equations Oper. Theory 82, No. 1, 95&ndash;117 (2015; <a href="/1337.47029">Zbl&nbsp;1337.47029</a>)] on localization operators.
