She was a visiting researcher at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, New York, in 1999. Since 1983, she has been with the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering of the Polytechnic of Bari, Italy, where she is currently a Full Professor of system and control engineering and Chair of the Laboratory of Automation and Control. Her research interests include modeling and control of complex systems, intelligent transportation systems, smart logistics; Petri nets; consensus protocols; fault detection. Prof. Fanti has published more than +310 papers and two textbooks on her research topics. She was senior editor of the IEEE Trans. on Automation Science and Engineering and member at large of the Board of Governors of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. Currently, she is Associate Editor of the IEEE Trans. on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, member of the AdCom of the IEEE Robotics and Automaton Society, and chair of the Technical Committee on Automation in Logistics of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. Prof. Fanti was General Chair of the 2011 IEEE Conference on Automation Science and Engineering, the 2017 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics and the 2019 Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Conference.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p align="center"><img src="img/speakers/wu.png" width="92" height="105"></p> <p align="center"><strong>Prof. Changxu Wu<br> Tsinghua University, China</strong></p> <p align="justify">Biography: Dr. Changxu Wu received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Operational Engineering from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (2007). He is a full professor of Department of Industrial Engineering in Tsinghua University, China since 2020. From 2017-2020, he was a professor of Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering University of Arizona. Dr. Wu directs the Cognitive System Lab and he is interested in integrating cognitive science and engineering system design, especially modeling human cognition system with its applications in system design, improving transportation safety, promoting human performance in human-computer interaction, and inventing innovative sustainable and smart energy systems with human in the loop. Dr. Wu has published 116 papers in the field including 80 journal papers, 36 conference papers, 1 book chapter, and 2 patents in intelligent system design authorized. The journal papers include IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (Part A), IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportations Systems, Psychological Review (Impact Factor: 9.02), ACM Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction, International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, as well as several other journals. He was the Chair of Human Performance Modeling Technical Group of Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) in USA. He is also Associate Editors for IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportations Systems, IEEE Transaction on Human-Machine Systems, and Behaviour & Information Technology. He received the Senior Researcher of the Year Award from the Dean of School the Engineering & Applied Sciences at SUNY Buffalo and Outstanding Student Instructor Award from the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE).</p> <p align="justify"> </p> <p align="center"><strong><img width="84" height="113" src="img/speakers/Speakers_clip_image002.jpg"></strong></p> <p align="center"><strong>Prof. Hesheng Wang<br> Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China</strong></p> <p align="justify">Biography: Hesheng Wang received the Ph.D. degree in Automation & Computer-Aided Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Currently, he is a Professor of Department of Automation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. He has published more than 200 papers in refereed journals and conferences. He is an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Automation Science Engineering, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, Assembly Automation and International Journal of Humanoid Robotics, a Technical Editor of IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics. He served as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Robotics from 2015 to 2019. He was the general chair of IEEE RCAR2016 and IEEE ROBIO2022, and program chair of IEEE AIM2019 and IEEE ROBIO2014. He was a recipient of Shanghai Rising Star Award in 2014, The National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars in 2017, Shanghai Shuguang Scholar in 2019 and The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2022. He will be the General Chair of IEEE/RSJ IROS2025. </p> <p align="justify"> </p> <p align="center"><strong><img width="84" height="113" src="img/speakers/32375.jpg"></strong></p> <p align="center"><strong>Prof. Jinjun Shan <br> Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering<br> York University, Canada </strong></p> <p align="justify">Biography: Prof. Jinjun Shan is a full Professor at the Department of Earth and Space Science and Engineering, York University. He received his PhD degree from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2002. He joined York University in 2006 as Assistant Professor of Space Engineering and was promoted to Full Professor in 2016. He had served as the department chair from 2018 to 2023. Prior to his appointment in York, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS) and City University of Hong Kong. Prof. Shan’s research areas include dynamics, control and navigation of autonomous systems, multi-agent systems, smart materials and structures, spacecraft dynamics and control, and space instrumentation. His pioneering work has led to over 200 widely cited publications, including two books, as well as two patents. Prof. Shan’s accomplishments in research and engineering education have seen him recognized with prestigious awards such as a Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), a Fellow of Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), and a Fellow of American Astronautical Society (AAS). </p> <p align="justify"> </p> <p align="justify"> </p> <p align="center"><strong><img width="84" height="113" src="img/speakers/31341.jpg"></strong></p> <p align="center"><strong>Prof. Mehmet Emir Köksal<br> Ondokuz Mayis University, Turkiye </strong></p> <p align="justify">Biography: Mehmet Emir Koksal is a Professor of Mathematics at the Ondokuz Mayis University. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey in 2009. After receiving his Ph.D., he studied as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne between 2009 and 2010. In 2014, he passed the exam held by The Presidency of the Inter-University Council of Turkey and received the title of Associate Professor in Mathematics. He was a Visiting Professor at the Chair Mathematics of Systems Theory in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Twente from 2022 to 2023. In 2023, he also became associate professor of electrical and electronics engineering and in Turkey, he is the first scientist who has become an associate professor of electrical and electronics engineering whilst being a mathematics professor. His research interests are in systems and control theory, circuit and system theory, differential equations, and numerical analysis. The main focus is on the development and analysis of commutativity conditions of time-varying systems, feedback systems, decomposition and transitivity properties of commutativity, and applications of commutativity in physical systems using differential and difference equations. He also studies ordinary and partial differential equations, their numerical solution methods, and mathematical modeling and analysis of various engineering problems using differential equations. He has published many research papers in eligible international journals, and he has many proceedings presented at famous international conferences. He reviewed over 200 manuscripts for 60 different international peer-reviewed journals and 40 different international conferences. His research has been mainly supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. In this field, he has led two national projects, one of which was awarded a project performance award. He has been a keynote speaker, invited speaker and a member of the organizing and scientific committees of many well-known international conferences. </p> <p align="justify"> </p> <p align="center"><strong><img width="84" height="113" src="img/speakers/29202.jpg"></strong></p> <p align="center"><strong>Prof. Fairouz Kamareddine<br> Heriot-Watt University, UK</strong></p> <p align="justify">Biography: Professor of Theoretical Computer Science in Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. Fairouz Kamareddine has been involved in a number of worldwide consultancy assignments, especially on education and research issues working for United Nations and the EU. Her research interest includes Interface of Mathematics, Logic and Computer Science. She has held numerous invited positions at universities worldwide. She has well over 200 published articles and a number of books.
