Above the transition temperature, $T_{\text{CDW}}$, the out-of-plane diffuse scattering is characterized by rod-like structures which indicate that the CDW fluctuations in neighboring layers are largely decoupled. In addition, the in-plane diffuse scattering is marked by ellipses which reveal that the in-plane fluctuations are anisotropic. Our analysis of the diffuse scattering line shapes and orientations suggests that the three charge density wave components contain independent phase fluctuations. At $T_{\text{CDW}}$, long range coherence is established in both the in-plane and out-of-plane directions, consistent with the large observed value of the CDW gap compared to $T_{\text{CDW}}$, and the predicted presence of a hierarchy of energy scales. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('2501.09968v1-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('2501.09968v1-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">&#9651; Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 17 January, 2025; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> January 2025. </p> </li> <li class="arxiv-result"> <div class="is-marginless"> <p class="list-title is-inline-block"><a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1807.07598">arXiv:1807.07598</a> <span>&nbsp;[<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/1807.07598">pdf</a>, <a href="https://arxiv.org/format/1807.07598">other</a>]&nbsp;</span> </p> <div class="tags is-inline-block"> <span class="tag is-small is-link tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Strongly Correlated Electrons">cond-mat.str-el</span> </div> <div class="is-inline-block" style="margin-left: 0.5rem"> <div class="tags has-addons"> <span class="tag is-dark is-size-7">doi</span> <span class="tag is-light is-size-7"><a class="" href="https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevB.100.045106">10.1103/PhysRevB.100.045106 <i class="fa fa-external-link" aria-hidden="true"></i></a></span> </div> </div> </div> <p class="title is-5 mathjax"> Spectroscopic fingerprints of many-body renormalizations in$1T$-TiSe$_2$ </p> <p class="authors"> <span class="search-hit">Authors:</span> <a href="/search/cond-mat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Zhao%2C+J">J. The energy distribution curves of the ARPES data reveal intrinsic peak-dip-hump feature, while the electronic dispersion derived from the momentum distribution curves of the data highlights, for the first time, multiple kink structures. These are canonical signatures of a coupling between the electronic degrees of freedom and some Bosonic mode in the system. We demonstrate this using a model calculation of the single-particle spectral function at the presence of an electron-Boson coupling. From the self-energy analysis of our ARPES data, we discern some of the critical energy scales of the involved Bosonic mode, which are $\sim$15 and 26 meV. Based on a comparison between these energies and the characteristic energy scales of our Raman scattering data, we identify these Bosonic modes as Raman active breathing (${\text{A}}_\text{1g}$) and shear (${\text{E}}_\text{g}$) modes, respectively. Direct observation of the band-renormalization due to electron-phonon coupling increases the possibility that electron-phonon interactions are central to the collective quantum states such as charge density wave (CDW) and superconductivity in the compounds based on $1T$-TiSe$_2$. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('1807.07598v1-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('1807.07598v1-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">&#9651; Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 19 July, 2018; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> July 2018. </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Comments:</span> <span class="has-text-grey-dark mathjax">7 pages, 4 figures</span> </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Journal ref:</span> Phys. Our measurements reveal that the system undergoes a quantum phase transition at x=0.04 from a strong commensurate CDW (x&lt;0.04) to a soft incommensurate CDW (x&gt;0.04). We find that the cooperative driving mechanisms for the commensurate CDW, the excitonic insulator mechanism and the soft L$_1$$^-$ phonon mode, decouple at x=0.04 with the observed fluctuations in the folded Se-4p band dominating the transition. We also demonstrate a loss of coherence in the A$_{1g}$ phonon with increased copper intercalation of the parent lattice, indicating a loss of long-range lattice order. These findings provide compelling evidence that TiSe2 undergoes a quantum phase transition upon copper intercalation from a state of commensurate charge order to a state with a different symmetry in which the new charge order coexists with the superconducting phase. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('1612.01838v1-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('1612.01838v1-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">&#9651; Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 6 December, 2016; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> December 2016. </p> </li> <li class="arxiv-result"> <div class="is-marginless"> <p class="list-title is-inline-block"><a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1610.07913">arXiv:1610.07913</a> <span>&nbsp;[<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/1610.07913">pdf</a>, <a href="https://arxiv.org/ps/1610.07913">ps</a>, <a href="https://arxiv.org/format/1610.07913">other</a>]&nbsp;</span> </p> <div class="tags is-inline-block"> <span class="tag is-small is-link tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Strongly Correlated Electrons">cond-mat.str-el</span> <span class="tag is-small is-grey tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Mesoscale and Nanoscale Physics">cond-mat.mes-hall</span> </div> </div> <p class="title is-5 mathjax"> Photon-Induced Selenium Vacancies in TiSe2 </p> <p class="authors"> <span class="search-hit">Authors:</span> <a href="/search/cond-mat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Lioi%2C+D+B">David B. Here, we perform Raman spectroscopy studies on single crystal TiSe2 to investigate photon-induced defects associated with formation of selenium vacancies. Two additional Eg phonon peaks are observed in the laser-irradiated regions, consistent with Raman spectra of selenium deficient TiSe2. Temperature dependent studies of the threshold laser intensity necessary to form selenium vacancies show that there is a linear dependence. We extract the relevant activation energy for selenium vacancy nucleation. The impact of these results on the properties of strongly correlated electron states in TiSe2 are discussed. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('1610.07913v1-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('1610.07913v1-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">&#9651; Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 25 October, 2016; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> October 2016. </p> </li> <li class="arxiv-result"> <div class="is-marginless"> <p class="list-title is-inline-block"><a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1608.05957">arXiv:1608.05957</a> <span>&nbsp;[<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/1608.05957">pdf</a>, <a href="https://arxiv.org/format/1608.05957">other</a>]&nbsp;</span> </p> <div class="tags is-inline-block"> <span class="tag is-small is-link tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Superconductivity">cond-mat.supr-con</span> <span class="tag is-small is-grey tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Strongly Correlated Electrons">cond-mat.str-el</span> </div> <div class="is-inline-block" style="margin-left: 0.5rem"> <div class="tags has-addons"> <span class="tag is-dark is-size-7">doi</span> <span class="tag is-light is-size-7"><a class="" href="https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.118.027002">10.1103/PhysRevLett.118.027002 <i class="fa fa-external-link" aria-hidden="true"></i></a></span> </div> </div> </div> <p class="title is-5 mathjax"> Observation of a Charge Density Wave Incommensuration Near the Superconducting Dome in CuxTiSe2 </p> <p class="authors"> <span class="search-hit">Authors:</span> <a href="/search/cond-mat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Kogar%2C+A">Anshul Kogar</a>, <a href="/search/cond-mat?searchtype=author&amp;query=de+la+Pena%2C+G+A">Gilberto A. de la Pena</a>, <a href="/search/cond-mat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Lee%2C+S">Sangjun Lee</a>, <a href="/search/cond-mat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Fang%2C+Y">Yizhi Fang</a>, <a href="/search/cond-mat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Sun%2C+S+X+-">Stella X. -L. The results show a CDW incommensuration arising at an intercalation value coincident with the onset of superconductivity at around x=0.055(5). Additionally, it was found that the charge density wave persists to higher intercalant concentrations than previously assumed, demonstrating that the CDW does not terminate inside the superconducting dome. A charge density wave peak was observed in samples up to x=0.091(6), the highest copper concentration examined in this study. The phase diagram established in this work suggests that charge density wave incommensuration may play a role in the formation of the superconducting state. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('1608.05957v2-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('1608.05957v2-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">&#9651; Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 13 January, 2017; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">v1</span> submitted 21 August, 2016; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> August 2016. </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Comments:</span> <span class="has-text-grey-dark mathjax">5 pages, 4 figures</span> </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Journal ref:</span> Phys.
