I grew up, and still live in Heber City. Sundance use to be a quite event. Kind of fun, a little entertaining, but not a full fledged celebrity-athon like it is now. Being somewhat local, we use to go to the festival and see two or three movies each year. It was exciting to see the different film makers bringing their message, special interest stories, and documentaries into the spotlight. I think that it is pretty pathetic when the likes of Paris Hilton gets more attention than the people who actually have films in the festival and have something to say. That is something to say besides, "See me, see me, see me" Why can't we just revert back to the actual festival, where independant film makers can get their work shown in a large forum, without having to see what Paris wore, where she parties, what she ate. Really, who cares?
