has the horses to press BYU like UNLV did a week ago in the Thomas & Mack, but is his team capable of pulling that off at the Marriott Center where the Cougars have won 40 straight games and appear to play their best?<p> We'll find out later today when the defending champion Cougars play host to league-leading San Diego State in the Marriott Center for an early 6 p.m. tipoff.<p> Fielding the most athletic team in the league, Fisher might try and press and trap the Cougars, opting to pitch BYU out of its comfort zone at home, a technique that has failed in Provo but worked in Las Vegas a week ago in UNLV's 29-point win.<p> "We are preparing for a very difficult challenge at BYU," said Fisher. "They throttled us there last year (80-58) and they have a lot of those players back. We know the difficulties of it and we'll need to play our best."<p> Throwing a press on a home team might be easier to pull off in San Diego or Las Vegas rather than Provo, but Fisher said it is tough to do anywhere because you need the kind of players to make it work. "Vegas is the best pressure team in the league, they have very good athletes one through five, they have the ability to climb into you."<p> <div class="continue">Story continues below</div> <div id="ad_300" class="ad"> <div id="ad6Sp"></div> </div> Fisher said he doesn't see UNLV's ways as the ways of the rest of the league when it comes to beating BYU, especially in Provo.<p> "BYU draws great crowds and they expect to win at home where they have the nation's longest win streak (40 games). While that doesn't guarantee success, BYU, being as good as they are has a lot to do with it. Teams have a hard time rattling them there."<p> The Aztecs beat BYU on a last-second tip-in two years ago, but generally, like most visitors to the Marriott Center, have not kept a string of wins going. Fisher wasn't prepared to say his team doesn't shoot well in Provo because they have played good games in Utah over the years.<p> "It's a hard place to get a win. The (poor) shooting is created more by their defense than the environment," said the Aztec coach.<p> Fisher praised BYU junior Lee Cummard, who had 19 points and nine rebounds in a win over Utah last Saturday in the Huntsman Center.<p> Cummard has been difficult for the Aztecs for quite a while.<p> "He's getting more of a prime time role now," Fisher said. "He has long arms, he's a very intelligent basketball player.
