Les sciences et les religions cherchent depuis toujours une réponse à la question du temps. Existe-t-il vraiment ? Selon Saint Augustin, aucune définition ne peut le décrire adéquatement. Son constat est des plus célèbres : « Qu'est-ce que le temps? Si quelqu'un me demande, je sais, mais si je veux l'expliquer à quelqu'un, alors, je ne sais pas » 1. Le temps est « omniprésent », et comme l'a avoué le physicien Etienne Klein, « penser le temps, c'est comme labourer la mer ». Dans nos dictionnaires il y a peu de mots qui soient autant utilisés que « le temps ». On trouve de nombreuses définitions, sans qu'aucune nous dise véritablement ce qui se cache derrière ce mot. Son constat est des plus célèbres : « Qu'est-ce que le temps? Si quelqu'un me demande, je sais, mais si je veux l'expliquer à quelqu'un, alors, je ne sais pas » 1. Le temps est « omniprésent », et comme l'a avoué le physicien Etienne Klein, « penser le temps, c'est comme labourer la mer ». Dans nos dictionnaires il y a peu de mots qui soient autant utilisés que « le temps ». On trouve de nombreuses définitions, sans qu'aucune nous dise véritablement ce qui se cache derrière ce mot.
