In 2021, Domínguez, alongside Chloé Delarue, was the recipient of the Simetría Award. They undertook residencies at CERN and the ESO Astronomy and ALMA Observatory facilities located in the Atacama Desert of Chile. Following her research and dialogues with scientific communities in Switzerland and Chile, Domínguez returned to the Laboratory to film 'Tres lunas más abajo,' a new commission by Arts at CERN. Her artistic practice encompasses watercolor, sculpture, and video installation, where Domínguez combines artistic imagination with experimental ethnobotanical research. Drawing inspiration from myths, rituals, and healing traditions, she creates shrine-like imagery derived from a visual vocabulary that spans plant life, the digital world and mass-market goods. Domínguez and her team, comprising Emilia Martin, Pamela Canoles, and Claudia Velasquez, filmed her work, 'Tres Lunas más abajo' (Three Moons Down), across CERN's scientific facilities. A speculative, ancestral, and futuristic video, it reflects on the interconnectedness of spiritual and quantum realms, in search of a re-coding our perception of reality. In 2021, Domínguez, alongside Chloé Delarue, was the recipient of the Simetría Award. They undertook residencies at CERN and the ESO Astronomy and ALMA Observatory facilities located in the Atacama Desert of Chile. Following her research and dialogues with scientific communities in Switzerland and Chile, Domínguez returned to the Laboratory to film 'Tres lunas más abajo,' a new commission by Arts at CERN. Her artistic practice encompasses watercolor, sculpture, and video installation, where Domínguez combines artistic imagination with experimental ethnobotanical research. Drawing inspiration from myths, rituals, and healing traditions, she creates shrine-like imagery derived from a visual vocabulary that spans plant life, the digital world and mass-market goods. Domínguez and her team, comprising Emilia Martin, Pamela Canoles, and Claudia Velasquez, filmed her work, 'Tres Lunas más abajo' (Three Moons Down), across CERN's scientific facilities. A speculative, ancestral, and futuristic video, it reflects on the interconnectedness of spiritual and quantum realms, in search of a re-coding our perception of reality. The Simetría Award was a residency programme organised by Arts at CERN and Corporación Chilena de Video.
