<t><p class="indent1">Let the earth<MH776> open<MH6605a> up<MH6605a> and salvation<MH3468> bear<MH6509> fruit<MH6509>, <t><p class="indent1">And righteousness<MH6666> sprout<MH6779> with it. <t><p class="indent1">I, the LORD<MH3068>, have created<MH1254a> it. <poetry><p class="paragraph"><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>“Woe<MH1945> to <i>the one</i> who quarrels<MH7378> with <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>his Maker<MH3335>— <t><p class="indent1">A piece<MH2789> of<MH2789> pottery<MH2789> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>among<MH854> the <i>other</i> earthenware<MH127> pottery<MH2789> pieces<MH2789>! <t><p class="indent1">Will the clay<MH2563a> say<MH559> to the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>potter<MH3335>, ‘What<MH4100> are you doing<MH6213a>?’ <t><p class="indent1">Or the thing<MH6467> you are making<MH6467> <i>say,</i> ‘He has<MH369> no<MH369> hands<MH3027>’? <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>“Woe<MH1945> to him who says<MH559> to a father<MH1>, ‘What<MH4100> are you fathering<MH3205>?’ <t><p class="indent1">Or to a woman<MH802>, ‘To what<MH4100> are you <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>giving<MH2342a> birth<MH2342a>?’” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the LORD<MH3068> says<MH559>, the Holy<MH6918> One<MH6918> of Israel<MH3478> and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>his Maker<MH3335>: <p class="indent1stline">“<span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>Ask<MH7592> Me about<MH5921> the things<MH857> to<MH857> come<MH857> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>concerning<MH5921> My sons<MH1121>, <t><p class="indent1">And you shall commit<MH6680> to Me the work<MH6467> of My hands<MH3027>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>“It is I who made<MH6213a> the earth<MH776>, and created<MH1254a> mankind<MH120> upon it. <t><p class="indent1">I stretched<MH5186> out<MH5186> the heavens<MH8064> with My hands<MH3027>, <t><p class="indent1">And I <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>ordained<MH6680> all<MH3605> their <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>lights<MH6635>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>“I have stirred<MH5782> him in righteousness<MH6664>, <t><p class="indent1">And I will make<MH3474> all<MH3605> his ways<MH1870> smooth<MH3474>. <t><p class="indent1">He will build<MH1129> My city<MH5892b> and let<MH7971> My exiles<MH1546> go<MH7971> free<MH7971>, <t><p class="indent1">Without<MH3808> any payment<MH4242> or reward<MH7810>,” says<MH559> the LORD<MH3068> of armies<MH6635>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the LORD<MH3068> says<MH559>: <p class="indent1stline">“The <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>products<MH3018> of Egypt<MH4714> and the merchandise<MH5504> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>Cush<MH3568a> <t><p class="indent1">And the Sabeans<MH5436>, men<MH376> of stature<MH4060a>, <t><p class="indent1">Will come<MH5674a> over<MH5674a> to you and will be yours; <t><p class="indent1">They will walk<MH1980> behind<MH310> you, they will come<MH5674a> over<MH5674a> in chains<MH2203b> <t><p class="indent1">And will bow<MH2331c> down<MH2331c> to you; <t><p class="indent1">They will plead<MH6419> with you: <p class="indent1stline">‘<span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>God<MH410> certainly<MH389> is <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[r]</a></span>with you, and there<MH369> is<MH369> no<MH369> one<MH369> else<MH5750>, <t><p class="indent1">No<MH657> other<MH657> God<MH430>.’” <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>Truly<MH403>, You are a God<MH410> who hides<MH5641> Himself, <t><p class="indent1">God<MH430> of Israel<MH3478>, Savior<MH3467>! <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>They will be put<MH954> to<MH954> shame<MH954> and even<MH1571> humiliated<MH3637>, all<MH3605> of them; <t><p class="indent1">The manufacturers<MH2796> of idols<MH6736> will go<MH1980> away together<MH3164a> in humiliation<MH3639>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Israel<MH3478> has been saved<MH3467> by the LORD<MH3068> <t><p class="indent1">With an everlasting<MH5769> salvation<MH8668>; <t><p class="indent1">You will not be put<MH954> to<MH954> shame<MH954> or humiliated<MH3637> <t><p class="indent1">To all<MH5703> eternity<MH5769>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>For this<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the LORD<MH3068> says<MH559>, <i>He</i> who created<MH1254a> the heavens<MH8064> (He is the God<MH430> who formed<MH3335> the earth<MH776> and made<MH6213a> it, He established<MH3559> it <i>and</i> did not create<MH1254a> it <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[s]</a></span>as a waste<MH8414> place<MH8414>, <i>but</i> formed<MH3335> it to be inhabited<MH3427>): <p class="indent1stline">“I am the LORD<MH3068>, and there<MH369> is<MH369> no<MH369> one<MH369> else<MH5750>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>“I have not spoken<MH1696> in secret<MH5643a>, <t><p class="indent1">In <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[t]</a></span>some<MH4725> dark<MH2822> land<MH776>; <t><p class="indent1">Come<MH5066> together<MH3164a>, you survivors<MH6412a> of the nations<MH1471>! <t><p class="indent1">They have<MH3045> no<MH3808> knowledge<MH3045>, <t><p class="indent1">Who carry<MH5375> around<MH5375> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[w]</a></span>their wooden<MH6086> idol<MH6459> <t><p class="indent1">And pray<MH6419> to a god<MH410> who cannot<MH3808> save<MH3467>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/45-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>“Declare<MH5046> and present<MH5066> <i>your case;</i> <t><p class="indent1">Indeed<MH637>, let them consult<MH3289> together<MH3164a>. <t><p class="indent1">Who<MH4310> has announced<MH8085> this<MH2088> long<MH6924a> ago<MH6924a>? <t><p class="indent1">Who has long<MH3975b> since<MH3975b> declared<MH5046> it? <t><p class="indent1">Is it not I, the LORD<MH3068>? <t><p class="indent1">And there<MH369> is<MH369> no<MH369> other<MH5750> God<MH430> besides<MH4480, 1107> Me, <t><p class="indent1">A righteous<MH6662> God<MH410> and a Savior<MH3467>;
