You shall do<MH6213a> so<MH3541> for six<MH8337a> days<MH3117>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>Also seven<MH7651> priests<MH3548> shall carry<MH5375> seven<MH7651> trumpets<MH7782> of rams’<MH3104> horns<MH3104> in front<MH6440> of the ark<MH727>; then on the seventh<MH7637> day<MH3117> you shall march<MH5437> around<MH5437> the city<MH5892b> seven<MH7651> times<MH6471>, and the priests<MH3548> shall blow<MH8628> the trumpets<MH7782>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>It shall be that when they make<MH4900> a<MH4900> long<MH4900> blast<MH4900> with the ram’s<MH3104> horn<MH7161>, and when you hear<MH8085> the sound<MH6963> of the trumpet<MH7782>, all<MH3605> the people<MH5971a> shall shout<MH7321> with a great<MH1419> shout<MH8643>; and the wall<MH2346> of the city<MH5892b> will fall<MH5307> down<MH5307> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>flat<MH8478>, and the people<MH5971a> shall go<MH5927> up<MH5927>, everyone<MH376> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>straight<MH5048> ahead<MH5048>.” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>So Joshua<MH3091> the son<MH1121> of Nun<MH5126> called<MH7121> the priests<MH3548> and said<MH559> to them, “Take<MH5375> up<MH5375> the ark<MH727> of the covenant<MH1285>, and have seven<MH7651> priests<MH3548> carry<MH5375> seven<MH7651> trumpets<MH7782> of rams’<MH3104> horns<MH3104> in front<MH6440> of the ark<MH727> of the LORD<MH3068>.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Then <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>he said<MH559> to the people<MH5971a>, “Go<MH5674a> forward<MH5674a> and march<MH5437> around<MH5437> the city<MH5892b>, and the armed<MH2502b> men<MH2502b> shall go<MH5674a> on<MH5674a> ahead<MH6440> of the ark<MH727> of the LORD<MH3068>.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And it was <i>so,</i> that when Joshua<MH3091> had spoken<MH559> to the people<MH5971a>, the seven<MH7651> priests<MH3548> carrying<MH5375> the seven<MH7651> trumpets<MH7782> of rams’<MH3104> horns<MH3104> before<MH6440> the LORD<MH3068> went<MH5674a> forward<MH5674a> and blew<MH8628> the trumpets<MH7782>; and the ark<MH727> of the covenant<MH1285> of the LORD<MH3068> followed<MH1980, 310> them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And the armed<MH2502b> men<MH2502b> went<MH1980> ahead<MH6440> of the priests<MH3548> who blew<MH8628> the trumpets<MH7782>, and the rear<MH622> guard<MH622> came<MH1980> after<MH310> the ark<MH727>, while they continued<MH1980> to blow<MH8628> the trumpets<MH7782>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>But Joshua<MH3091> commanded<MH6680> the people<MH5971a>, saying<MH559>, “You shall not shout<MH7321> nor<MH3808> let your voice<MH6963> be heard<MH8085>, nor<MH3808> let a word<MH1697> proceed<MH3318> from your mouth<MH6310>, until<MH5704> the day<MH3117> I tell<MH559> you, ‘Shout<MH7321>!’ Then you shall shout<MH7321>!” <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>So he had the ark<MH727> of the LORD<MH3068> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>taken<MH5437> around<MH5437> the city<MH5892b>, circling<MH5362b> <i>it</i> once<MH259, 6471>; then they came<MH935> into the camp<MH4264> and spent<MH3885a> the<MH3885a> night<MH3885a> in the camp<MH4264>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Now Joshua<MH3091> got<MH7925> up<MH7925> early<MH7925> in the morning<MH1242>, and the priests<MH3548> took<MH5375> up<MH5375> the ark<MH727> of the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Then the seven<MH7651> priests<MH3548> carrying<MH5375> the seven<MH7651> trumpets<MH7782> of rams’<MH3104> horns<MH3104> in front<MH6440> of the ark<MH727> of the LORD<MH3068> went<MH1980> on continually<MH1980>, and blew<MH8628> the trumpets<MH7782>; and the armed<MH2502b> men<MH2502b> went<MH1980> ahead<MH6440> of them, and the rear<MH622> guard<MH622> came<MH1980> after<MH310> the ark<MH727> of the LORD<MH3068>, while they continued<MH1980> to blow<MH8628> the trumpets<MH7782>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>So the second<MH8145> day<MH3117> they marched<MH5437> around<MH5437> the city<MH5892b> once<MH259, 6471> and returned<MH7725> to the camp<MH4264>; they did<MH6213a> the same<MH3541> for six<MH8337a> days<MH3117>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>Then on the seventh<MH7637> day<MH3117> they got<MH7925> up<MH7925> early<MH7925> at the dawning<MH7837, 5927> of<MH7837> the day<MH7837> and marched<MH5437> around<MH5437> the city<MH5892b> in the same<MH2088> way<MH4941> seven<MH7651> times<MH6471>; only<MH7534b> on that day<MH3117> did they march<MH5437> around<MH5437> the city<MH5892b> seven<MH7651> times<MH6471>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>And at the seventh<MH7637> time<MH6471>, when the priests<MH3548> blew<MH8628> the trumpets<MH7782>, Joshua<MH3091> said<MH559> to the people<MH5971a>, “Shout<MH7321>! For the LORD<MH3068> has given<MH5414> you the city<MH5892b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>But the city<MH5892b> shall be designated<MH2764a> for<MH2764a> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>destruction<MH2764a>, it and everything<MH3605> that is in it belongs to the LORD<MH3068>; only<MH7534b> Rahab<MH7343> the prostitute<MH2181> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>and all<MH3605> who<MH834> are with her in the house<MH1004> shall live<MH2421a>, because<MH3588> she hid<MH2244> the messengers<MH4397> whom<MH834> we sent<MH7971>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>But as for you, only<MH7534b> keep<MH8104> yourselves from the things<MH2764a> designated<MH2764a> for<MH2764a> destruction<MH2764a>, so<MH6435> that<MH6435> you do not<MH6435> covet<MH2530> <i>them</i> and take<MH3947> some<MH4480> of the designated<MH2764a> things<MH2764a>, and turn<MH7760> the camp<MH4264> of Israel<MH3478> into something<MH2764a> designated<MH2764a> for<MH2764a> destruction<MH2764a> and bring<MH5916> disaster<MH5916> on<MH5916> it. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>But all<MH3605> the silver<MH3701> and gold<MH2091>, and articles<MH3627> of bronze<MH5178> and iron<MH1270> are holy<MH6944> to the LORD<MH3068>; they shall go<MH935> into the treasury<MH214> of the LORD<MH3068>.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>So the people<MH5971a> shouted<MH7321>, and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>the priests blew<MH8628> the trumpets<MH7782>; and when the people<MH5971a> heard<MH8085> the sound<MH6963> of the trumpet<MH7782>, the people<MH5971a> shouted<MH7321> with a great<MH1419> shout<MH8643>, and the wall<MH2346> fell<MH5307> down<MH5307> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>flat<MH8478>, so that the people<MH5971a> went<MH5927> up<MH5927> into the city<MH5892b>, everyone<MH376> straight<MH5048> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>ahead<MH5048>, and they took<MH3920> the city<MH5892b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>They <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>utterly<MH2763a> destroyed<MH2763a> everything<MH3605> in the city<MH5892b>, both<MH4480, 5704> man<MH376> and woman<MH802>, young<MH5288> and old<MH2205>, and ox<MH7794>, sheep<MH7716>, and donkey<MH2543>, with the edge<MH6310> of the sword<MH2719>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>And Joshua<MH3091> said<MH559> to the two<MH8147> men<MH376> who had spied<MH7270> out<MH7270> the land<MH776>, “Go<MH935> into the prostitute’s<MH2181> house<MH1004> and bring<MH3318> the woman<MH802> and all<MH3605> she has out<MH3318> of there<MH8033>, just<MH3512c> as<MH3512c> you have sworn<MH7650> to her.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>So the young<MH5288> men<MH5288> who were spies<MH7270> went<MH935> in<MH935> and brought<MH3318> out<MH3318> Rahab<MH7343>, her father<MH1>, her mother<MH517>, her brothers<MH251>, and all<MH3605> she had; they also brought<MH3318> out<MH3318> all<MH3605> her relatives<MH4940>, and placed<MH5117> them outside<MH4480, 2351> the camp<MH4264> of Israel<MH3478>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/6-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>Then they burned<MH8313> the city<MH5892b> with fire<MH784>, and all<MH3605> that was in it.
