height: 338px;" /></div> <br /> Mr. Hossam Heiba, GAFI CEO, met with a delegation of executives and representatives from 24 Japanese companies operating in the renewable energy sector. The meeting was attended by Mr. Nobutaka Maekawa, Executive Vice President of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO); Mr. Shigeyo Nishizawa, Managing Director of JETRO Cairo office, Mr. Kato Ken, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); Mr. Oka Hiroshi, Japan’s Ambassador to Cairo; Mr. Shuichi Miroku, Representative of Toyota Tsusho Corporation in Egypt; Mr. Naoki Nakayama, Managing Director of Hioki; and Mr. Osama Abdel Meguid, Regional President of Yokogawa in the Middle East and Africa, among other representatives from Japanese companies interested in investing in Egypt. <p>Mr. Hossam Heiba stated that the Egyptian government has already identified the locations and investments required to achieve its goal of adding around 30 gigawatts of new renewable energy capacity. Several companies have already started investing and establishing facilities to help meet this target.</p> <p>GAFI CEO emphasized that the government's goals in the renewable energy sector extend beyond energy production. It also aims to deepen the sector industrially and commercially by localizing the technology for manufacturing turbines, panels, and other components of solar and wind power plants.</p> <p>Additionally, the infrastructure is being developed to export surplus energy to neighboring countries. He noted that the legislative and procedural environment has been amended to attract green hydrogen projects through the enactment of a law granting incentives for projects operating in green hydrogen production and its derivatives. Furthermore, the government has launched the National Strategy for Low-Carbon Hydrogen.</p> <p>Mr. Nobutaka Maekawa stated that the Japanese business community is keen to accelerate investments in Egypt's promising renewable energy sector. The Japanese delegation includes representatives from all sectors related to renewable energy, including banking institutions and construction companies.
