On evaluating the existing format of e-learning, conditions regarding repetitive learning to achieve mastery, causes issues for learners to lose tension and become neglectful of learning. The dynamic formative evaluation proposed is able to supplement limitation of the existing approaches. Since a repetitive learning method does not provide a perfect feedback, this paper puts an emphasis on the dynamic formative evaluation that is able to maximize learning achievement. Through the dynamic formative evaluation, the instructor is able to refer to the evaluation result when making estimation about the learner. To show the flow chart of learning, based on the dynamic formative evaluation, the model proves its effectiveness and validity. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=online%20learning" title="online learning">online learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20formative%20evaluation" title=" dynamic formative evaluation"> dynamic formative evaluation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mastery%20learning" title=" mastery learning"> mastery learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=repetitive%20learning%20method" title=" repetitive learning method"> repetitive learning method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=learning%20achievement" title=" learning achievement"> learning achievement</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2483/an-online-mastery-learning-method-based-on-a-dynamic-formative-evaluation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2483.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">510</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21862</span> Developing the Methods for the Study of Static and Dynamic Balance</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=K.%20Abuzayan">K. Many factors have been identified as influencing static balance control. Therefore, the aim of this study was to apply the (XCoM) method and other relevant variables (CoP, CoM, Fh, KE, P, Q, and, AI) to investigate sport related activities such as hopping and jumping. Many studies have represented the CoP data without mentioning its accuracy, so several experiments were done to establish the agreement between the CoP and the projected CoM in a static condition. Five male healthy (Mean ± SD:- age 24.6 years ±4.5, height 177 cm ± 6.3, body mass 72.8 kg ± 6.6) participated in this study. Results found that The implementation of the XCoM method was found to be practical for evaluating both static and dynamic balance. The general findings were that the CoP, the CoM, the XCoM, Fh, and Q were more informative than the other variables (e.g. KE, P, and AI) during static and dynamic balance. The XCoM method was found to be applicable to dynamic balance as well as static balance. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=centre%20of%20mass" title="centre of mass">centre of mass</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=static%20balance" title=" static balance"> static balance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20balance" title=" dynamic balance"> dynamic balance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=extrapolated%20centre%20of%20mass" title=" extrapolated centre of mass"> extrapolated centre of mass</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/3232/developing-the-methods-for-the-study-of-static-and-dynamic-balance" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/3232.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">420</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21861</span> Study the Dynamic Behavior of Irregular Buildings by the Analysis Method Accelerogram</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Beciri%20Mohamed%20Walid">Beciri Mohamed Walid</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Some architectural conditions required some shapes often lead to an irregular distribution of masses, rigidities and resistances. To take into account the dynamic deformations of foils, the perturbation method is used for determining the gas-film stiffness and damping coefficients for given values of excitation frequency, compressibility number, and compliance factor of the bump foil. The nonlinear stationary Reynolds’ equation is solved by means of the Galerkins’ finite element formulation while the finite differences method are used to solve the first order complex dynamic equations resulting from the perturbation of the nonlinear transient compressible Reynolds’ equation. The stiffness of a bump is uniformly distributed throughout the bearing surface (generation I bearing). It was found that the dynamic properties of the compliant finite length journal bearing are significantly affected by the compliance of foils especially when the dynamic deformation of foils is considered in addition to the static one by applying the principle of superposition. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=elasto-aerodynamic%20lubrication" title="elasto-aerodynamic lubrication">elasto-aerodynamic lubrication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=air%20foil%20bearing" title=" air foil bearing"> air foil bearing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=steady-state%20deformation" title=" steady-state deformation"> steady-state deformation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20deformation" title=" dynamic deformation"> dynamic deformation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stiffness%20and%20damping%20coefficients" title=" stiffness and damping coefficients"> stiffness and damping coefficients</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perturbation%20method" title=" perturbation method"> perturbation method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluid-structure%20interaction" title=" fluid-structure interaction"> fluid-structure interaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Galerk%20infinite%20element%20method" title=" Galerk infinite element method"> Galerk infinite element method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=finite%20difference%20method" title=" finite difference method"> finite difference method</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14356/analysis-of-a-self-acting-air-journal-bearing-effect-of-dynamic-deformation-of-bump-foil" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14356.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">392</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21858</span> Increasing the Apparent Time Resolution of Tc-99m Diethylenetriamine Pentaacetic Acid Galactosyl Human Serum Albumin Dynamic SPECT by Use of an 180-Degree Interpolation Method </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yasuyuki%20Takahashi">Yasuyuki Takahashi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maya%20Yamashita"> Maya Yamashita</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kyoko%20Saito"> Kyoko Saito</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In general, dynamic SPECT data acquisition needs a few minutes for one rotation. Thus, the time-activity curve (TAC) derived from the dynamic SPECT is relatively coarse. In order to effectively shorten the interval, between data points, we adopted a 180-degree interpolation method. This method is already used for reconstruction of the X-ray CT data. In this study, we applied this 180-degree interpolation method to SPECT and investigated its effectiveness. To briefly describe the 180-degree interpolation method: the 180-degree data in the second half of one rotation are combined with the 180-degree data in the first half of the next rotation to generate a 360-degree data set appropriate for the time halfway between the first and second rotations. In both a phantom and a patient study, the data points from the interpolated images fell in good agreement with the data points tracking the accumulation of 99mTc activity over time for appropriate region of interest. We conclude that data derived from interpolated images improves the apparent time resolution of dynamic SPECT. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20SPECT" title="dynamic SPECT">dynamic SPECT</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=time%20resolution" title=" time resolution"> time resolution</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=180-degree%20interpolation%20method" title=" 180-degree interpolation method"> 180-degree interpolation method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=99mTc-GSA." title=" 99mTc-GSA."> 99mTc-GSA.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12762/increasing-the-apparent-time-resolution-of-tc-99m-diethylenetriamine-pentaacetic-acid-galactosyl-human-serum-albumin-dynamic-spect-by-use-of-an-180-degree-interpolation-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12762.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">493</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21857</span> Comparison of Allowable Stress Method and Time History Response Analysis for Seismic Design of Buildings</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sayuri%20Inoue">Sayuri Inoue</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Naohiro%20Nakamura"> Naohiro Nakamura</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tsubasa%20Hamada"> Tsubasa Hamada</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The seismic design method of buildings is classified into two types: static design and dynamic design. The static design is a design method that exerts static force as seismic force and is a relatively simple design method created based on the experience of seismic motion in the past 100 years. At present, static design is used for most of the Japanese buildings. Dynamic design mainly refers to the time history response analysis. It is a comparatively difficult design method that input the earthquake motion assumed in the building model and examine the response. Currently, it is only used for skyscrapers and specific buildings. In the present design standard in Japan, it is good to use either the design method of the static design and the dynamic design in the medium and high-rise buildings. However, when actually designing middle and high-rise buildings by two kinds of design methods, the relatively simple static design method satisfies the criteria, but in the case of a little difficult dynamic design method, the criterion isn't often satisfied. This is because the dynamic design method was built with the intention of designing super high-rise buildings. In short, higher safety is required as compared with general buildings, and criteria become stricter. The authors consider applying the dynamic design method to general buildings designed by the static design method so far. The reason is that application of the dynamic design method is reasonable for buildings that are out of the conventional standard structural form such as emphasizing design. For the purpose, it is important to compare the design results when the criteria of both design methods are arranged side by side. In this study, we performed time history response analysis to medium-rise buildings that were actually designed with allowable stress method. Quantitative comparison between static design and dynamic design was conducted, and characteristics of both design methods were examined. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=buildings" title="buildings">buildings</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seismic%20design" title=" seismic design"> seismic design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=allowable%20stress%20design" title=" allowable stress design"> allowable stress design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=time%20history%20response%20analysis" title=" time history response analysis"> time history response analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Japanese%20seismic%20code" title=" Japanese seismic code"> Japanese seismic code</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/99520/comparison-of-allowable-stress-method-and-time-history-response-analysis-for-seismic-design-of-buildings" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/99520.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">155</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21856</span> Performance Evaluation of Dynamic Signal Control System for Mixed Traffic Conditions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aneesh%20Babu">Aneesh Babu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20P.%20Anusha"> S. The present study focus on evaluating the performance of dynamic signal control systems for mixed traffic conditions. Data collected from four different approaches to a typical four-legged signalized intersection at Trivandrum city in the Kerala state of India is used for the study. Performance of three other dynamic signal control methods, namely (i) Non-sequential method (ii) Webster design for consecutive signal cycle using flow as input, and (iii) dynamic signal control using RFID delay as input, were evaluated. The evaluation of the dynamic signal control systems was carried out using a calibrated VISSIM microsimulation model. Python programming was used to integrate the dynamic signal control algorithm through the COM interface in VISSIM. The intersection delay obtained from different dynamic signal control methods was compared with the delay obtained from fixed signal control. Based on the study results, it was observed that the intersection delay was reduced significantly by using dynamic signal control methods. The dynamic signal control method using delay from RFID sensors resulted in a higher percentage reduction in delay and hence is a suitable choice for implementation under mixed traffic conditions. The developed dynamic signal control strategies can be implemented in ITS applications under mixed traffic conditions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20signal%20control" title="dynamic signal control">dynamic signal control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=intersection%20delay" title=" intersection delay"> intersection delay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mixed%20traffic%20conditions" title=" mixed traffic conditions"> mixed traffic conditions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=RFID%20sensors" title=" RFID sensors"> RFID sensors</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/156123/performance-evaluation-of-dynamic-signal-control-system-for-mixed-traffic-conditions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/156123.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">106</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21855</span> Dynamic Fault Tree Analysis of Dynamic Positioning System through Monte Carlo Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=A.%20S.%20Cheliyan">A. It is a computer controlled system to automatically maintain a ship’s position and heading by using its own thrusters. Reliability assessment of the same can be analyzed through conventional fault tree. However, the complex behaviour like sequence failure, redundancy management and priority of failing of events cannot be analyzed by the conventional fault trees. The Dynamic Fault Tree (DFT) addresses these shortcomings of conventional Fault Tree by defining additional gates called dynamic gates. Monte Carlo based simulation approach has been adopted for the dynamic gates. This method of realistic modeling of DPS gives meaningful insight into the system reliability and the ability to improve the same. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20positioning%20system" title="dynamic positioning system">dynamic positioning system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20fault%20tree" title=" dynamic fault tree"> dynamic fault tree</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Monte%20Carlo%20simulation" title=" Monte Carlo simulation"> Monte Carlo simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reliability%20assessment" title=" reliability assessment "> reliability assessment </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58683/dynamic-fault-tree-analysis-of-dynamic-positioning-system-through-monte-carlo-approach" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58683.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">773</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21854</span> Identifying Unknown Dynamic Forces Applied on Two Dimensional Frames</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H.%20Katkhuda">H. Panels with variable thickness are used in the construction of aerospace and marine industry. Giving variable thickness to panels can allow the designer to get optimum structural efficiency. For this reason, estimating the response of variable thickness panels is very important to design more reliable structures under dynamic loads. Dynamic equations for composite panels with variable thickness are obtained using virtual work principle. Partial derivatives in the equation of motion are expressed with GDQ and Newmark average acceleration scheme is used for temporal discretization. Several related methods have not utilized the dynamic facial features effectively for high performance. This paper proposes a method for emotions recognition using dynamic facial features with high performance. Initially, local features are captured by Gabor filter with different scale and orientations in each frame for finding the position and scale of face part from different backgrounds. The Gabor features are sent to the ensemble classifier for detecting Gabor facial features. The region of dynamic features is captured from the Gabor facial features in the consecutive frames which represent the dynamic variations of facial appearances. In each region of dynamic features is normalized using Z-score normalization method which is further encoded into binary pattern features with the help of threshold values. The binary features are passed to Multi-class AdaBoost classifier algorithm with the well-trained database contain happiness, sadness, surprise, fear, anger, disgust, and neutral expressions to classify the discriminative dynamic features for emotions recognition. The developed method is deployed on the Ryerson Multimedia Research Lab and Cohn-Kanade databases and they show significant performance improvement owing to their dynamic features when compared with the existing methods. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=detecting%20face" title="detecting face">detecting face</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gabor%20filter" title=" Gabor filter"> Gabor filter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-class%20AdaBoost%20classifier" title=" multi-class AdaBoost classifier"> multi-class AdaBoost classifier</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Z-score%20normalization" title=" Z-score normalization"> Z-score normalization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/85005/dynamic-gabor-filter-facial-features-based-recognition-of-emotion-in-video-sequences" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/85005.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">278</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21845</span> Calcium Silicate Bricks – Ultrasonic Pulse Method: Effects of Natural Frequency of Transducers on Measurement Results</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jiri%20Brozovsky">Jiri Brozovsky</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Modulus of elasticity is one of the important parameters of construction materials, which considerably influence their deformation properties and which can also be determined by means of non-destructive test methods like ultrasonic pulse method. Overall, the results agree well with analytical solutions, indicating the ability to accurately simulate the radiation at the bounded domain. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20analysis" title="dynamic analysis">dynamic analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=implicit" title=" implicit"> implicit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MPM" title=" MPM"> MPM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-reflecting%20boundary" title=" non-reflecting boundary"> non-reflecting boundary</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/137872/wave-transmitting-boundary-in-dynamic-analysis-for-an-elastoplastic-medium-using-the-material-point-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/137872.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">204</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21843</span> Dynamic Modeling of Orthotropic Cracked Materials by X-FEM</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20Houcine%20Habib">S. The mixed mode stress intensity factor (SIF) is computed using the interaction integral technique based on J-integral in order to predict cracking behavior of the structure. Cloud-based Dynamic Routing is becoming increasingly popular. We propose feedback in Formal Methods for Dynamic Routing and Cloud Computing; the model and topologies show how to send messages from index zero to all others formally. The responsibility of proper verification becomes crucial with Dynamic Routing in the cloud. Formal Methods can play an essential role in the routing and development of Networks, and the testing of distributed systems. Event-B is a formal technique that consists of describing the problem rigorously and introduces solutions or details in the refinement steps. This paper proposes the procedure to estimate seismic fragility curves using an incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) rather than the method adopting a CSM. To achieve the research purpose, this study compares the seismic fragility curves of a 5-story reinforced concrete (RC) moment frame obtained from both methods, an IDA method and a CSM. Both seismic fragility curves are similar in slight and moderate damage states whereas the fragility curve obtained from the IDA method presents less variation (or uncertainties) in extensive and complete damage states. This is due to the fact that the IDA method can properly capture the structural response beyond yielding rather than the CSM and can directly calculate higher mode effects. From these observations, the CSM could overestimate seismic vulnerabilities of the studied structure in extensive or complete damage states. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seismic%20fragility%20curve" title="seismic fragility curve">seismic fragility curve</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=incremental%20dynamic%20analysis" title=" incremental dynamic analysis"> incremental dynamic analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=capacity%20spectrum%20method" title=" capacity spectrum method"> capacity spectrum method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reinforced%20concrete%20moment%20frame" title=" reinforced concrete moment frame"> reinforced concrete moment frame</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21652/seismic-fragility-functions-of-rc-moment-frames-using-incremental-dynamic-analyses" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21652.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">422</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21840</span> Dynamic Analysis of Transmission Line Towers</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=L.%20Srikanth">L. This leads to a real-time scheduling method that can produce a reasonably good schedule quickly. The dynamic Flexible Job Shop problem is an NP-hard scheduling problem that hybrid the dynamic Job Shop problem with the Parallel Machine problem. A Flexible Job Shop contains different work centres. Each work centre contains parallel machines that can process certain operations. Many algorithms, such as genetic algorithms or simulated annealing, have been proposed to solve the static Flexible Job Shop problems. However, the time efficiency of these methods is low, and these methods are not feasible in a dynamic scheduling problem. Therefore, a dynamic rule selection scheduling system based on the reinforcement learning method is proposed in this research, in which the dynamic Flexible Job Shop problem is divided into several parallel machine problems to decrease the complexity of the dynamic Flexible Job Shop problem. Firstly, the features of jobs, machines, work centres, and flexible job shops are selected to describe the status of the dynamic Flexible Job Shop problem at each decision point in each work centre. Secondly, a framework of reinforcement learning algorithm using a double-layer deep Q-learning network is applied to select proper composite dispatching rules based on the status of each work centre. Then, based on the selected composite dispatching rule, an available operation is selected from the waiting buffer and assigned to an available machine in each work centre. Finally, the proposed algorithm will be compared with well-known dispatching rules on objectives of mean tardiness, mean flow time, mean waiting time, or mean percentage of waiting time in the real-time Flexible Job Shop problem. The result of the simulations proved that the proposed framework has reasonable performance and time efficiency. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20scheduling%20problem" title="dynamic scheduling problem">dynamic scheduling problem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flexible%20job%20shop" title=" flexible job shop"> flexible job shop</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dispatching%20rules" title=" dispatching rules"> dispatching rules</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deep%20reinforcement%20learning" title=" deep reinforcement learning"> deep reinforcement learning</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/159322/a-framework-of-dynamic-rule-selection-method-for-dynamic-flexible-job-shop-problem-by-reinforcement-learning-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/159322.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">107</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21838</span> On an Experimental Method for Investigating the Dynamic Parameters of Multi-Story Buildings at Vibrating Seismic Loadings</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shakir%20Mamedov">Shakir Mamedov</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tukezban%20Hasanova"> Tukezban Hasanova</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Research of dynamic properties of various materials and elements of structures at shock affecting and on the waves so many scientific works of the Azerbaijani scientists are devoted. This feature makes FMLs very attractive for aerospace industry, where thin-walled structures are commonly used. Nevertheless, those structures are prone to buckling phenomenon. Buckling could occur also under static load as well as dynamic pulse loads. In this paper, the problem of dynamic buckling of open cross-section FML profiles under axial dynamic compression in the form of pulse load of finite duration is investigated. In the numerical model, material properties of FML constituents were assumed as nonlinear elastic-plastic aluminum and linear-elastic glass-fiber-reinforced composite. The influence of pulse shape was investigated. Sinusoidal and rectangular pulse loads of finite duration were compared in two ways, i.e. with respect to magnitude and force pulse. The dynamic critical buckling load was determined based on Budiansky-Hutchinson, Ari Gur, and Simonetta dynamic buckling criteria. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20buckling" title="dynamic buckling">dynamic buckling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20stability" title=" dynamic stability"> dynamic stability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fiber%20Metal%20Laminate" title=" Fiber Metal Laminate"> Fiber Metal Laminate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Finite%20Element%20Method" title=" Finite Element Method"> Finite Element Method</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/97234/numerical-study-of-dynamic-buckling-of-fiber-metal-laminatess-profile" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/97234.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">193</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21835</span> Numerical Study of the Dynamic Behavior of an Air Conditioning with a Muti Confined Swirling Jet</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Roudane">Mohamed Roudane</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The objective of this study is to know the dynamic behavior of a multi swirling jet used for air conditioning inside a room. Neural networks trained with the results of dynamic connectivity analysis between different brain regions are used for classification. Dynamic connectivity analysis is based on the adaptive window size and the imaginary part of the complex Pearson correlation coefficient. Brain dynamics are analysed using the relative intersection of confidence intervals for the imaginary component of the complex Pearson correlation coefficient method (RICI-imCPCC). The RICI-imCPCC method overcomes the shortcomings of currently used dynamical connectivity analysis methods, such as the low reliability and low temporal precision for short connectivity intervals encountered in constant sliding window analysis with wide window size and the high susceptibility to noise encountered in constant sliding window analysis with narrow window size. This method overcomes these shortcomings by dynamically adjusting the window size using the RICI rule. This method extracts information about brain connections for each time sample. Seventy percent of the extracted brain connectivity information is used for training and thirty percent for validation. Classification of the target word is also done and based on the same analysis method. As far as we know, through this research, we have shown for the first time that dynamic connectivity can be used as a parameter for classifying EEG signals. <p
