Different kind of functions or forces will be considered in the right hand side of the differential equations, in particular, the emphasis will be placed in the case of trigonometrical functions producing the resonance phenomena. In order to obtain this, the frequencies of the trigonometrical functions will be changed. Once the resonances appear, these have to be correlationated with the roots of the second order algebraic equation determined by the coefficients of the differential equation. In this way, the physics and engineering students will understand resonance effects and its consequences in the simplest way. A large variety of examples will be shown, using different kind of functions for the nonhomogeneous part of the differential equations. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=education" title="education">education</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=geogebra" title=" geogebra"> geogebra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ordinary%20differential%20equations" title=" ordinary differential equations"> ordinary differential equations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=resonance" title=" resonance"> resonance</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/90040/nonhomogeneous-linear-second-order-differential-equations-and-resonance-through-geogebra-program" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/90040.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">245</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6274</span> Integral Image-Based Differential Filters</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kohei%20Inoue">Kohei Inoue</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kenji%20Hara"> Kenji Hara</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kiichi%20Urahama"> Kiichi Urahama</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We describe a relationship between integral images and differential images. First, we derive a simple difference filter from conventional integral image. In the derivation, we show that an integral image and the corresponding differential image are related to each other by simultaneous linear equations, where the numbers of unknowns and equations are the same, and therefore, we can execute the integration and differentiation by solving the simultaneous equations. The continuous formulations enable us to differentiate and evaluate at some selected points to obtain three discrete schemes, which were used in block form for parallel or sequential solutions of the problems. So we will approximate the analytical solution using Picard method and Taylor method to ODEs<em>.</em> <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Parkinson%27s%20disease" title="Parkinson's disease">Parkinson's disease</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=step%20method" title=" step method"> step method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delay%20differential%20equation" title=" delay differential equation"> delay differential equation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=two%20delays" title=" two delays"> two delays</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/131976/step-method-for-solving-nonlinear-two-delays-differential-equation-in-parkinsons-disease" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/131976.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">205</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6268</span> Periodicity of Solutions of a Nonlinear Impulsive Differential Equation with Piecewise Constant Arguments</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehtap%20Lafc%C4%B1">Mehtap Lafcı</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In recent years, oscillation, periodicity and convergence of solutions of linear differential equations with piecewise constant arguments have been significantly considered but there are only a few papers for impulsive differential equations with piecewise constant arguments. Our purpose is to enhance the ability to solve the mentioned nonlinear differential equations at basic science and engineering field and similar issues with a simple and innovative approach. As we know most of engineering system behavior in practical are nonlinear process (especially basic science and engineering field, etc.) and analytical solving (no numeric) these problems are difficult, complex, and sometimes impossible like (Fluids and Gas wave, these problems can't solve with numeric method, because of no have boundary condition) accordingly in this symposium we are going to exposure an innovative approach which we have named it Akbari-Ganji's Method or AGM in engineering, that can solve sets of coupled nonlinear differential equations (ODE, PDE) with high accuracy and simple solution and so this issue will emerge after comparing the achieved solutions by Numerical method (Runge-Kutta 4th). Eventually, AGM method will be proved that could be created huge evolution for researchers, professors and students in whole over the world, because of AGM coding system, so by using this software we can analytically solve all complicated linear and nonlinear partial differential equations, with help of that there is no difficulty for solving all nonlinear differential equations. Advantages and ability of this method (AGM) as follow: (a) Non-linear Differential equations (ODE, PDE) are directly solvable by this method. (b) In this method (AGM), most of the time, without any dimensionless procedure, we can solve equation(s) by any boundary or initial condition number. (c) AGM method always is convergent in boundary or initial condition. (d) Parameters of exponential, Trigonometric and Logarithmic of the existent in the non-linear differential equation with AGM method no needs Taylor expand which are caused high solve precision. (e) AGM method is very flexible in the coding system, and can solve easily varieties of the non-linear differential equation at high acceptable accuracy. (f) One of the important advantages of this method is analytical solving with high accuracy such as partial differential equation in vibration in solids, waves in water and gas, with minimum initial and boundary condition capable to solve problem. (g) It is very important to present a general and simple approach for solving most problems of the differential equations with high non-linearity in engineering sciences especially at civil engineering, and compare output with numerical method (Runge-Kutta 4th) and Exact solutions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=new%20approach" title="new approach">new approach</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AGM" title=" AGM"> AGM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sets%20of%20coupled%20nonlinear%20differential%20equation" title=" sets of coupled nonlinear differential equation"> sets of coupled nonlinear differential equation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exact%20solutions" title=" exact solutions"> exact solutions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=numerical" title=" numerical"> numerical</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/32459/investigation-a-new-approach-agm-to-solve-of-complicate-nonlinear-partial-differential-equations-at-all-engineering-field-and-basic-science" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/32459.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">463</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6264</span> A Spectral Decomposition Method for Ordinary Differential Equation Systems with Constant or Linear Right Hand Sides</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=R.%20B.%20Ogunrinde">R. They are a rare cause of an umbilical mass, with very few cases previously reported following abdominal surgery. These lesions can present with a range of symptoms, including palpable mass, pain, redness, or discharge. This paper reports a case of an umbilical epidermal inclusion cyst in a 52-year-old female presenting with a six-week history of a painful, red umbilical lump on a background of two previous diagnostic laparoscopies. Abdominal computed tomography (CT) scans revealed non-specific soft tissue thickening in the umbilical region. This was successfully treated with complete excision of the lesion. Umbilical lumps are a common presentation but can represent a diagnostic challenge. The differential diagnosis should include an epidermal inclusion cyst, particularly in a patient who has had previous abdominal surgery, including laparoscopic surgery. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=epidermal%20inclusion%20cyst" title="epidermal inclusion cyst">epidermal inclusion cyst</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=laparoscopy" title=" laparoscopy"> laparoscopy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=umbilical%20mass" title=" umbilical mass"> umbilical mass</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=umbilicus" title=" umbilicus"> umbilicus</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/138636/umbilical-epidermal-inclusion-cysts-a-rare-cause-of-umbilical-mass-a-case-report-and-review-of-literature" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/138636.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">83</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6262</span> A Variable Structural Control for a Flexible Lamina</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xuezhang%20Hou">Xuezhang Hou</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A control problem of a flexible Lamina formulated by partial differential equations with viscoelastic boundary conditions is studied in this paper. The argument of the hypergeometric changes sign when we go from the regular Bessel functions to the modified Bessel functions of the first kind, however it integer seems that using precise values of α and considering no integers values of α, a solution can be obtained in terms of two hypergeometric functions. Further research is required for future papers in order to obtain the general solution for any rational value of α. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Caputo" title="Caputo">Caputo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fractional%20calculation" title=" fractional calculation"> fractional calculation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hypergeometric" title=" hypergeometric"> hypergeometric</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear%20differential%20equations" title=" linear differential equations"> linear differential equations</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/91373/nonhomogeneous-linear-fractional-differential-equations-will-bessel-functions-of-the-first-kind-giving-hypergeometric-functions-solutions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/91373.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">197</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6256</span> Linear fractional differential equations for second kind modified Bessel functions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jorge%20Olivares">Jorge Olivares</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fernando%20Maass"> Fernando Maass</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pablo%20Martin"> Pablo Martin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Fractional derivatives have been considered recently as a way to solve different problems in Engineering. In this way, second kind modified Bessel functions are considered here. The order α fractional differential equations of second kind Bessel functions, Kᵥ(x), are studied with simple initial conditions. The Laplace transform and Caputo definition of fractional derivatives are considered. Solutions have been found for ν=1/3, 1/2, 2/3, -1/3, -1/2 and (-2/3). In these cases, the solutions are the sum of two hypergeometric functions. The α fractional derivatives have been for α=1/3, 1/2 and 2/3, and the above values of ν. No convergence has been found for the integer values of ν Furthermore when α has been considered as a rational found m/p, no general solution has been found. Clearly, this case is more difficult to treat than those of first kind Bessel Function. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Caputo" title="Caputo">Caputo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modified%20Bessel%20functions" title=" modified Bessel functions"> modified Bessel functions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hypergeometric" title=" hypergeometric"> hypergeometric</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear%20fractional%20differential%20equations" title=" linear fractional differential equations"> linear fractional differential equations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transform%20Laplace" title=" transform Laplace"> transform Laplace</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/91374/linear-fractional-differential-equations-for-second-kind-modified-bessel-functions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/91374.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">342</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6255</span> Long Term Love Relationships Analyzed as a Dynamic System with Random Variations</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nini%20Johana%20Mar%C3%ADn%20Rodr%C3%ADguez">Nini Johana Marín Rodríguez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=William%20Fernando%20Oquendo%20Patino"> William Fernando Oquendo Patino</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this work, we model a coupled system where we explore the effects of steady and random behavior on a linear system like an extension of the classic Strogatz model. This is exemplified by modeling a couple love dynamics as a linear system of two coupled differential equations and studying its stability for four types of lovers chosen as CC='Cautious- Cautious', OO='Only other feelings', OP='Opposites' and RR='Romeo the Robot'. We explore the effects of, first, introducing saturation, and second, adding a random variation to one of the CC-type lover, which will shape his character by trying to model how its variability influences the dynamics between love and hate in couple in a long run relationship. This general formalism covers every linear operator (non – differential) in Hilbert space. In fact, our approach shows that instead of using the adjoint definition of an operator directly, it can be obtained directly by relying on a suitable generalized space according to the action of the operator in question. For the case of nonlinear operators, we have to change the definition of the linear operator adjoint. But here, we have obtained an adjoint of these operators with respect to the definition of the derivative of the operator. As a matter of fact, we have shown one of the straight applications of the ''Frechet derivative'' in the algebra of the operators. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adjoint%20operator" title="adjoint operator">adjoint operator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-linear%20operator" title=" non-linear operator"> non-linear operator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=differentiable%20operator" title=" differentiable operator"> differentiable operator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=manifold" title=" manifold"> manifold</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166456/a-general-approach-to-define-adjoint-of-linear-and-non-linear-operators" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166456.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">119</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6252</span> Gender and Political Participation in Africa</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ibrahim%20Baba">Ibrahim Baba</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The work examines the nature and causes of differential politics in Africa with particular reference to the sub-Saharan region of the continent. As regards the previous published papers, investigating this kind of equations is a very hard task to do and the obtained solution is not accurate and reliable. This issue will be emerged after comparing the achieved solutions by Numerical Method. Based on the comparisons which have been made between the gained solutions by AGM and Numerical Method (Runge-Kutta 4th), it is possible to indicate that AGM can be successfully applied for various differential equations particularly for difficult ones. Furthermore, It is necessary to mention that a summary of the excellence of this method in comparison with the other approaches can be considered as follows: It is noteworthy that these results have been indicated that this approach is very effective and easy therefore it can be applied for other kinds of nonlinear equations, And also the reasons of selecting the mentioned method for solving differential equations in a wide variety of fields not only in vibrations but also in different fields of sciences such as fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, chemical engineering, etc. Therefore, a solution with high precision will be acquired. With regard to the afore-mentioned explanations, the process of solving nonlinear equation(s) will be very easy and convenient in comparison with the other methods. And also one of the important position that is explored in this paper is: Trigonometric and exponential terms in the differential equation (the method AGM) , is no need to use Taylor series Expansion to enhance the precision of the result. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=new%20method%20%28AGM%29" title="new method (AGM)">new method (AGM)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=complex%20non-linear%20partial%20differential%20equations" title=" complex non-linear partial differential equations"> complex non-linear partial differential equations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=damping%20ratio" title=" damping ratio"> damping ratio</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy%20lost%20per%20cycle" title=" energy lost per cycle"> energy lost per cycle</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36424/study-and-solving-high-complex-non-linear-differential-equations-applied-in-the-engineering-field-by-analytical-new-approach-agm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36424.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">469</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6249</span> Flow over an Exponentially Stretching Sheet with Hall and Cross-Diffusion Effects</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Srinivasacharya%20Darbhasayanam">Srinivasacharya Darbhasayanam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jagadeeshwar%20Pashikanti"> Jagadeeshwar Pashikanti</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper analyzes the Soret and Dufour effects on mixed convection flow, heat and mass transfer from an exponentially stretching surface in a viscous fluid with Hall Effect. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations. The nonlinear coupled ordinary differential equations are reduced to a system of linear differential equations using the successive linearization method and then solved the resulting linear system using the Chebyshev pseudo spectral method. The numerical results for the velocity components, temperature and concentration are presented graphically. The obtained results are compared with the previously published results, and are found to be in excellent agreement. It is observed from the present analysis that the primary and secondary velocities and concentration are found to be increasing, and temperature is decreasing with the increase in the values of the Soret parameter. An increase in the Dufour parameter increases both the primary and secondary velocities and temperature and decreases the concentration. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
