<poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/micah/3-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>“You who hate<MH8130> good<MH2896b> and love<MH157> evil<MH7451b>, <t><p class="indent1">Who tear<MH1497> off<MH1497> their skin<MH5785> from them <t><p class="indent1">And their flesh<MH7607> from their bones<MH6106>, <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/micah/3-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>Who<MH834> eat<MH398> the flesh<MH7607> of my people<MH5971a>, <t><p class="indent1">Strip<MH6584> off<MH6584> their skin<MH5785> from them, <t><p class="indent1">Smash<MH6476> their bones<MH6106>, <t><p class="indent1">And chop<MH6566> <i>them</i> up<MH6566> as for the pot<MH5518a>, <t><p class="indent1">And as meat<MH1320> in a cauldron<MH7037>!” <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/micah/3-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>Then<MH227> they will cry<MH2199> out<MH2199> to the LORD<MH3068>, <t><p class="indent1">But He will not answer<MH6030a> them. <t><p class="indent1">Instead, He will hide<MH5641> His face<MH6440> from them at that time<MH6256> <t><p class="indent1">Because<MH834> they have practiced<MH7489a> evil<MH7489a> deeds<MH4611>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/micah/3-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the LORD<MH3068> says<MH559> concerning<MH5921> the prophets<MH5030> who lead<MH8582> my people<MH5971a> astray<MH8582>: <p class="indent1stline"><i>When</i> they have <i>something</i> to bite<MH5391a> with their teeth<MH8127>, <t><p class="indent1">They cry<MH7121> out<MH7121>, “Peace<MH7965>!” <t><p class="indent1">But against<MH5921> him who<MH834> puts<MH5414> nothing<MH3808> in their mouths<MH6310> <t><p class="indent1">They declare<MH6942> holy<MH6942> war<MH4421>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/micah/3-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>Therefore<MH3651> <i>it will be</i> night<MH3915> for you—without<MH4480> vision<MH2377>, <t><p class="indent1">And darkness<MH2825> for you—without<MH4480> divination<MH7080>. <t><p class="indent1">The sun<MH8121> will go<MH935> down on the prophets<MH5030>, <t><p class="indent1">And the day<MH3117> will become<MH6937> dark<MH6937> over<MH5921> them. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/micah/3-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>The seers<MH2374> will be put<MH954> to<MH954> shame<MH954>, <t><p class="indent1">And the diviners<MH7080> will be ashamed<MH2659>. <t><p class="indent1">Indeed, they will all<MH3605> cover<MH5844a> <i>their</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>lips<MH8222> <t><p class="indent1">Because<MH3588> there<MH369> is<MH369> no<MH369> answer<MH4617> from God<MH430>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/micah/3-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>On the other<MH199> hand<MH199>, I am filled<MH4390> with power<MH3581b>— <t><p class="indent1">With the Spirit<MH7307> of the LORD<MH3068>— <t><p class="indent1">And with justice<MH4941> and courage<MH1369> <t><p class="indent1">To make<MH5046> known<MH5046> to Jacob<MH3290> his rebellious<MH6588> act<MH6588>, <t><p class="indent1">And to Israel<MH3478> his sin<MH2403b>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/micah/3-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Now<MH4994> hear<MH8085> this<MH2088>, you heads<MH7218> of the house<MH1004> of Jacob<MH3290> <t><p class="indent1">And rulers<MH7101> of the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478>, <t><p class="indent1">Who despise<MH8581> justice<MH4941> <t><p class="indent1">And twist<MH6140> everything<MH3605> that is straight<MH3477>, <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/micah/3-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Who build<MH1129> Zion<MH6726> with bloodshed<MH1818>, <t><p class="indent1">And Jerusalem<MH3389> with malice<MH5767b>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/micah/3-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>Her leaders<MH7218> pronounce<MH8199> judgment<MH8199> for a bribe<MH7810>, <t><p class="indent1">Her priests<MH3548> teach<MH3384> for pay<MH4242>, <t><p class="indent1">And her prophets<MH5030> divine<MH7080> for money<MH3701>. <t><p class="indent1">Yet they lean<MH8172> on the LORD<MH3068>, saying<MH559>, <p class="indent1stline">“Is the LORD<MH3068> not in our midst<MH7130>?
