<div style="text-align: left; unicode-bidi: bidi-override; direction: ltr"> <blockquote> <p>Baghdad – Iraq has selected six countries to provide its army with arms, Qassem al-Araji, a member of the Iraqi parliament’s Security and Defence Committee said in remarks published on Sunday. </p> <p>‘A team will be formed to visit these countries to know firsthand the arms they can offer to Iraq,’ al-Araji told the government newspaper Al Sabah. He did not name the six countries. </p> <p>On Friday, US President Barack Obama said all US troops would leave Iraq by the end of this year, after talks between Washington and Baghdad on keeping some soldiers in the country longer failed. </p> <p>‘The US troops are to blame for delay in arming the Iraqi army on different pretexts,’ added al-Araji. </p> <p>His committee has suggested diversifying the arms suppliers to Iraq. ‘We should not limit ourselves to one supplier, who can turn into a tool of pressure on Iraq in the future,’ said al-Araji</p> </blockquote> <p><a
