<span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>and I will turn<MH7725> you around<MH7725>, lead<MH8338> you on<MH8338> a<MH8338> rope<MH8338>, take<MH5927> you up<MH5927> from the remotest<MH3411> parts<MH3411> of the north<MH6828>, and bring<MH935> you against<MH5921> the mountains<MH2022> of Israel<MH3478>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>Then I will strike<MH5221> your bow<MH7198> from your left<MH8040> hand<MH3027> and make<MH5307> your arrows<MH2671> fall<MH5307> from your right<MH3225> hand<MH3027>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>You will fall<MH5307> on the mountains<MH2022> of Israel<MH3478>, you and all<MH3605> your troops<MH102>, and the peoples<MH5971a> who<MH834> are with you; I will give<MH5414> you as food<MH402> to every<MH3605> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>kind<MH3671> of predatory<MH5861> bird<MH6833> and animal<MH2421b> of the field<MH7704>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>You will fall<MH5307> on the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>open<MH6440> field<MH7704>; for it is I who have spoken<MH1696>,” declares<MH5002> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>“And I will send<MH7971> fire<MH784> upon Magog<MH4031> and those who inhabit<MH3427> the coastlands<MH339> in safety<MH983>; and they will know<MH3045> that I am the LORD<MH3068>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>“And I will make<MH3045> My holy<MH6944> name<MH8034> known<MH3045> in the midst<MH8432> of My people<MH5971a> Israel<MH3478>; and I will not allow<MH2490c> My holy<MH6944> name<MH8034> to<MH2490c> be<MH2490c> profaned<MH2490c> anymore<MH5750>. But the nations<MH1471> will know<MH3045> that I am the LORD<MH3068>, the Holy<MH6918> One<MH6918> in Israel<MH3478>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Behold<MH2009>, it is coming<MH935> and it shall be done<MH1961>,” declares<MH5002> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068>. “That is the day<MH3117> of which<MH834> I have spoken<MH1696>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>“Then those who inhabit<MH3427> the cities<MH5892b> of Israel<MH3478> will go<MH3318> out<MH3318> and make<MH1197a> fires<MH1197a> with the weapons<MH5402> and burn<MH5400> <i>them,</i> both <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>bucklers<MH4043> and shields<MH6793c>, bows<MH7198> and arrows<MH2671>, war<MH3027> clubs<MH4731> and spears<MH7420>, and for seven<MH7651> years<MH8141> they will make<MH1197a> fires<MH784> of them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>They will not take<MH5375> wood<MH6086> from the field<MH7704> or gather<MH2404> firewood<MH2404> from the forests<MH3293a>, because<MH3588> they will make<MH1197a> fires<MH784> with the weapons<MH5402>; and they will take<MH7997b> the spoils<MH7997b> of those who plundered<MH7997b> them and seize<MH962> the plunder<MH962> of those who plundered<MH962> them,” declares<MH5002> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>“On that day<MH3117> I will give<MH5414> Gog<MH1463> a burial<MH6913> place<MH4725> there<MH8033> in Israel<MH3478>, the valley<MH1516> of those who pass<MH5674a> by<MH5674a> east<MH6926> of the sea<MH3220>, and it will block<MH2629> the way<MH2629> of those who would pass<MH5674a> by<MH5674a>. So they will bury<MH6912> Gog<MH1463> there<MH8033> with all<MH3605> his horde<MH1995>, and they will call<MH7121> <i>it</i> the Valley<MH1516> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>Hamon-gog<MH1996>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>For seven<MH7651> months<MH2320> the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478> will be burying<MH6912> them in<MH4616> order<MH4616> to<MH4616> cleanse<MH2891> the land<MH776>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>And all<MH3605> the people<MH5971a> of the land<MH776> will bury<MH6912> <i>them;</i> and it will be <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>to their renown<MH8034> <i>on</i> the day<MH3117> that I appear<MH3513> in<MH3513> My glory<MH3513>,” declares<MH5002> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>“They will also select<MH914> men<MH376> who will constantly<MH8548> pass<MH5674a> through the land<MH776>, burying<MH6912> those who were passing<MH5674a> through<MH5674a>, those left<MH3498> on the surface<MH6440> of the ground<MH776>, in order to cleanse<MH2891> it. At the end<MH7097a> of seven<MH7651> months<MH2320> they will conduct<MH2713> a<MH2713> search<MH2713>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>As those who pass<MH5674a> through the land<MH776> pass<MH5674a> through<MH5674a> and anyone sees<MH7200> a human<MH120> bone<MH6106>, then he will <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>set<MH1129> up<MH1129> a marker<MH6725> by it until<MH5704> the burial<MH6912> detail<MH6912> has buried<MH6912> it in the Valley<MH1516> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>Hamon-gog<MH1996>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>And even<MH1571> <i>the</i> name<MH8034> of <i>the</i> city<MH5892b> will be Hamonah<MH1997>. So they will cleanse<MH2891> the land<MH776>.”’ <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>“Now as for you, son<MH1121> of man<MH120>, this<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: ‘Say<MH559> to every<MH3605> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>kind<MH3671> of bird<MH6833> and to every<MH3605> animal<MH2421b> of the field<MH7704>: “Assemble<MH6908> and come<MH935>, gather<MH622> from every<MH5439> direction<MH5439> to My sacrifice<MH2077>, which<MH834> I am going to sacrifice<MH2076> for you as a great<MH1419> sacrifice<MH2077> on the mountains<MH2022> of Israel<MH3478>; and you will eat<MH398> flesh<MH1320> and drink<MH8354> blood<MH1818>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>You will eat<MH398> the flesh<MH1320> of warriors<MH1368> and drink<MH8354> the blood<MH1818> of the leaders<MH5387a> of the earth<MH776>, <i>as though they were</i> rams<MH352a>, lambs<MH3733c>, goats<MH6260>, <i>and</i> bulls<MH6499>, all<MH3605> of them fattened<MH4806> livestock<MH4806> of Bashan<MH1316>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>So you will eat<MH398> fat<MH2459> until you are full<MH7654>, and drink<MH8354> blood<MH1818> until you are drunk<MH7943>, from My sacrifice<MH2077> which<MH834> I have sacrificed<MH2076> for you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>You will eat<MH7646> your fill<MH7646> at My table<MH7979> <i>with</i> horses<MH5483b> and charioteers<MH7393>, <i>with</i> warriors<MH1368> and all<MH3605> the men<MH376> of war<MH4421>,” declares<MH5002> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>“And I will place<MH5414> My glory<MH3519b> among the nations<MH1471>; and all<MH3605> the nations<MH1471> will see<MH7200> My judgment<MH4941> which<MH834> I have executed<MH6213a>, and My hand<MH3027> which<MH834> I have laid<MH7760> on them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>And the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478> will know<MH3045> that I am the LORD<MH3068> their God<MH430>, from that day<MH3117> onward<MH1973>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>The nations<MH1471> will know<MH3045> that the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478> went<MH1540> into<MH1540> exile<MH1540> for their wrongdoing<MH5771>, because<MH5921, 834> they were<MH4603> disloyal<MH4603> to Me, and I hid<MH5641> My face<MH6440> from them; so I handed<MH5414, 3027> them over<MH5414> to their adversaries<MH6862c>, and all<MH3605> of them fell<MH5307> by the sword<MH2719>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>In accordance with their uncleanness<MH2932a> and their offenses<MH6588> I dealt<MH6213a> with them, and I hid<MH5641> My face<MH6440> from them.”’” <p class="hdg">Israel Restored</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>Therefore<MH3651> this<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “Now<MH6258> I will restore<MH7725> the fortunes<MH7622> of Jacob<MH3290> and have<MH7355> mercy<MH7355> on<MH7355> all<MH3605> the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478>; and I will be<MH7065> jealous<MH7065> for My holy<MH6944> name<MH8034>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>They will <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>forget<MH5375> their disgrace<MH3639> and all<MH3605> their <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>treachery<MH4604> which<MH834> they perpetrated<MH4603> against Me, when they live<MH3427> securely<MH983> on their <i>own</i> land<MH127> with no<MH369> one<MH369> to make<MH2729> <i>them</i> afraid<MH2729>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>When I bring<MH7725> them back<MH7725> from the peoples<MH5971a> and gather<MH6908> them from the lands<MH776> of their enemies<MH340>, then I shall show<MH6942> Myself holy<MH6942> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>through them in the sight<MH5869> of the many<MH7227a> nations<MH1471>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/39-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>Then they will know<MH3045> that I am the LORD<MH3068> their God<MH430> because I made them go<MH1540> into<MH1540> exile<MH1540> among<MH413> the nations<MH1471>, and <i>then</i> I gathered<MH3664> them <i>again</i> to their own land<MH127>;
