<BR>　　 莆田市风光旖旎，古迹众多，旅游资源十分丰富。境内有福建四大佛教丛林和“十佳风景区”之一的千年故刹广化寺；有“福建三绝”之一的九鲤湖风景区；有全国重点文物保护单位：建于唐朝的我国建筑艺术之花玄妙观三清殿、宋代水利工程木兰陂、集宋代建筑艺术与石刻艺术为一体的释迦文物塔；有扬名中外的南少林寺；有被誉为“世界不多、中国少有”的天然深水良港湄洲湾秀屿港；有国内现存最完整的鼓楼之一，初建于宋太平年间的古谯楼；有“梅林佛国”的梅峰寺、“无尘山房”的夹祭草堂、景色壮丽的宁海初日、云雾缭绕的石室藏烟、石怪树奇的永兴岩和紫霄岩、典雅庄重的东门石坊、奇幻万千的东山晓旭......这些景区犹如一幅幅大地艺术的精雕缩影，点缀在莆田山山水水之间。 <BR>　　 莆田是海上和平女神妈祖的故乡，位于湄洲岛上的湄洲天后宫是世界上20多个国家和地区1500多座妈祖宫庙的祖庙，拥有信徒2亿多人，仅台湾就有妈祖庙800多座，信徒1400多万人。湄洲岛是大陆吸引台胞、海外侨胞最多、最集中的一个地方。岛上自然景观俊秀多资，有天籁之响的湄屿潮音、鬼斧神工的奇峰异石、一望无垠的黄金沙滩、平覆千畴的绿色长廊，堪称旅游度假的胜地。1992年湄洲岛被国务院确定为国家级旅游度假区。 <BR>　　 九鲤湖，也是大自然赋于莆田市的一大胜景。九鲤湖位于仙游县东北隅约25公里的万山之巅，这里以湖、洞、瀑、石四奇著称，尤以飞瀑为最，自古以来有“鲤湖飞瀑天下奇”之誉。明代大旅行家徐霞客把它与武夷山、玉华洞并称福建“三绝”。相传汉武帝时，有何氏九兄弟在此炼丹，后跨鲤升仙，九鲤湖因而得名。当地还流传着许多关于何氏九仙和历代善男信女来这里求“仙梦”的故事。九鲤湖荡青漾翠，是一个秀丽的天然湖，四周林木葱茏，湖光山色兼具林泉水石之胜，令人美不胜收。景区内的山中遍布摩崖题刻，是历代文人墨客到此寻胜探幽之后留下的诗文。  <BR> <BR>　　 与河南嵩山少林寺遥相呼应的莆田市林山南少林寺遗址的论证确认，则是我国武术、佛教和考古界近年来考古研究的重大成果。1992年4月25日，经福建省人民政府批准，莆田市政府在北京人民大会堂举行的新闻发布会上。郑重宣布了重建南少林寺设想，得到党和国家领导人、有关专家和120多位中外记者的高度评价。南少林寺遗址位于莆田市区西北面约18公里的九莲山。几年来经过多方努力，南少林寺遗址重建工程已经竣工。镶有赵朴初先生题写的“南少林”巨幅牌坊的山门，以及大雄宝殿、天王殿武术馆、陈列馆、接待厅、停车场等主要设施已对外开放。 <BR>　　 莆田市物产丰富，渔业兴旺，是著名的“鱼米之乡”，盛产稻谷、甘蔗、花生、黄麻和茶叶，这里的荔枝、龙眼、枇杷、无籽蜜柚是驰名中外的四大名果。还有鳗鱼、对虾、马鲛鱼、梭子鱼、鲟、蛏、海蛎、紫菜等特色水产品饮誉海内外，深受游客青睐。  <BR> <BR>       莆田市公路交通十分便捷，324国道、福夏高速公路及7条国家二级公路，形成“三纵三横”的公路主框架，公路总里程达2841公里。海上交通也十分发达，现有秀屿、三江口、枫亭、湄洲、南日等港口。湄洲湾秀屿港为国家一类口岸，与世界15个国家和地区有货运往来。湄洲岛对台3000吨客运码头已正式启用。  </P> </div><div class="prenext"> <ul>
