I am an assistant professor at the department of Astronomy at the University of Maryland, College Park.</p> <!-- My education began in <a href="http://www.arcetri.astro.it"> Florence, Italy</a>, where I was born and earned a <em>Laurea in Physics</em> - the italian degree equivalent to a masters. My masters thesis, supervised by Prof. Andrea Ferrara, focus on the <em>interstellar medium in primoridal galaxies</em>. I then moved to <a href="http://www.colorado.edu">University of Colorado</a> in Boulder to attend graduate school under the supervision of Profs. Michael J. Shull and Nickolay Y. Gnedin. My masters thesis focused on studies of the <em>intergalactic medium</em> and my PhD dissertation on the <em>formation of the first galaxies and their feedback effects</em>. Before moving to Maryland I spent two years at the <a href="http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk">IoA in Cambridge</a>, UK as a Research Associate, collaborating with Profs. J.P Ostriker, M.J. Rees, M. Haehnelt, M. Pettini on <em>reionization of the intergalactic medium and primordial black holes</em> and few months in Tokyo, Japan and Santa Brabara, CA.</p> --> <p>My main scientific interests are in <strong>cosmology and theoretical astrophysics</strong>. My research focuses on the cosmic epoch when galaxies, stars and black holes first appeared in the Universe. I plan to summarize my current and past research projects more extensively on the web: <a href="NEWWEB/group.html">Cosmology and Galaxy Formation Group</a>.
