The quality standards and characteristics of missile operations are very strict, requiring high stability and accurate response to commands within a relatively wide range of work. The study analyzes the linear transfer function model of the Missile Roll channel to facilitate the development of control systems. A two-loop control structure for the Missile Roll channel is proposed, with the inner loop controlling the Missile Roll rate and the outer loop controlling the Missile Roll angle. To determine the optimal control parameters, a genetic algorithm is applied. The study uses MATLAB simulation software to implement the genetic algorithm and evaluate the quality of the closed-loop system. The results show that the system achieves better quality than the original structure and is simple, reliable, and ready for implementation in practical experiments. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genetic%20%20algorithm" title="genetic algorithm">genetic algorithm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=roll%20chanel" title=" roll chanel"> roll chanel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=two-loop%20control%20structure" title=" two-loop control structure"> two-loop control structure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=missile" title=" missile"> missile</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/164639/optimized-control-of-roll-stability-of-missile-using-genetic-algorithm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/164639.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">90</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">291</span> Numerical Modelling of a Vacuum Consolidation Project in Vietnam</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nguyen%20Trong%20Nghia">Nguyen Trong Nghia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nguyen%20Huu%20Uy%20Vu"> Nguyen Huu Uy Vu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dang%20Huu%20Phuoc"> Dang Huu Phuoc</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar%20Shukla"> Sanjay Kumar Shukla</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Le%20Gia%20Lam"> Le Gia Lam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nguyen%20Van%20Cuong"> Nguyen Van Cuong</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper introduces a matching scheme for selection of soil/drain properties in analytical solution and numerical modelling (axisymmetric and plane strain conditions) of a ground improvement project by using Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD) in combination with vacuum and surcharge preloading. In-situ monitoring data from a case history of a road construction project in Vietnam was adopted in the back-analysis. Analytical solution and axisymmetric analysis can approximate well the field data meanwhile the horizontal permeability need to be adjusted in plane strain scenario to achieve good agreement. In addition, the influence zone of the ground treatment was examined. The residual settlement was investigated to justify the long-term settlement in compliance with the design code. Both algorithms are adapted using graph theory to generate feasible individuals, and the modified crossover is used for continuous variable of CGA. To demonstrate the performance and effectiveness of the proposed methods, a comparative analysis of CGA with PSO for network reconfiguration, on 33-node and 119-bus radial distribution system is presented. The simulation results have shown that both CGA and PSO can be used in the distribution network reconfiguration and CGA outperformed PSO with significant success rate in finding optimal distribution network configuration. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=distribution%20network%20reconfiguration" title="distribution network reconfiguration">distribution network reconfiguration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=particle%20swarm%20optimization" title=" particle swarm optimization"> particle swarm optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=continuous%20genetic%20algorithm" title=" continuous genetic algorithm"> continuous genetic algorithm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=power%20loss%20reduction" title=" power loss reduction"> power loss reduction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=voltage%20deviation" title=" voltage deviation"> voltage deviation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/101407/comparison-between-continuous-genetic-algorithms-and-particle-swarm-optimization-for-distribution-network-reconfiguration" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/101407.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">187</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">289</span> Detect Cable Force of Cable Stayed Bridge from Accelerometer Data of SHM as Real Time</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nguyen%20Lan">Nguyen Lan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Le%20Tan%20Kien"> Le Tan Kien</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nguyen%20Pham%20Gia%20Bao"> Nguyen Pham Gia Bao</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The cable-stayed bridge belongs to the combined system, in which the cables is a major strutual element. Cable-stayed bridges with large spans are often arranged with structural health monitoring systems to collect data for bridge health diagnosis. Cables tension monitoring is a structural monitoring content. It is common to measure cable tension by a direct force sensor or cable vibration accelerometer sensor, thereby inferring the indirect cable tension through the cable vibration frequency. To translate cable-stayed vibration acceleration data to real-time tension requires some necessary calculations and programming. This paper introduces the algorithm, labview program that converts cable-stayed vibration acceleration data to real-time tension. The research results are applied to the monitoring system of Tran Thi Ly cable-stayed bridge and Song Hieu cable-stayed bridge in Vietnam. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cable-stayed%20bridge" title="cable-stayed bridge">cable-stayed bridge</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cable%20fore" title=" cable fore"> cable fore</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=structural%20heath%20monitoring%20%28SHM%29" title=" structural heath monitoring (SHM)"> structural heath monitoring (SHM)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fast%20fourie%20transformed%20%28FFT%29" title=" fast fourie transformed (FFT)"> fast fourie transformed (FFT)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20time" title=" real time"> real time</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vibrations" title=" vibrations"> vibrations</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/182663/detect-cable-force-of-cable-stayed-bridge-from-accelerometer-data-of-shm-as-real-time" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/182663.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">71</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">288</span> Application of Balance Score Card (BSc) in Education: Case of the International University</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hieu%20Nguyen">Hieu Nguyen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Performance management is the concern of any organizations in the context of increasing demand and fierce competition between education institution. On the basis of the fractional calculus, the analytical tuning rules of FOPI controller for the inner loop can be established in the frequency domain. Besides, the outer loop is tuned by using any integer PI/PID controller tuning rules in the literature. Based on the hydrocarbon column height (HCH) at leak point derived from capillary pressure data, four seal types were identified. Furthermore, the results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis were interpreted to clarify the influence of clay minerals on seal capacity. The result of the study indicated that the inter-bedded shale formations are the good sealing quality with a majority of analyzed samples ranked type A and B seals in the sample set. Both seal types occurred mainly in mudstones with pore radius estimated less than 0.251 µm. Overall, type A and B seals contained a large amount of authigenic clay minerals such as illite, chlorite which showed the complexity of morphological arrangement in pore space. Conversely, the least common seal type C and D were presented in moderately compacted sandstones with more open pore radius. It is noticeable that there was a reduction of illite and chlorite in clay mineral fraction of these seal type. It is expected that the integrated analysis approach using Mercury Injection Capillary Pressure and petrographic data employed in this study can be applied to assess the sealing quality of future well sites in Green Dragon or other structures. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seal%20capacity" title="seal capacity">seal capacity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hydrocarbon%20height%20column" title=" hydrocarbon height column"> hydrocarbon height column</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seal%20type" title=" seal type"> seal type</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SEM" title=" SEM"> SEM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=XRD" title=" XRD"> XRD</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/108873/seal-capacity-evaluation-by-using-mercury-injection-capillary-pressure-method-integrated-with-petrographic-data-a-case-study-in-green-dragon-oilfield-offshore-vietnam" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/108873.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">160</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">280</span> Participation Motivation and Financing Approach of Small and Medium Enterprises in Mergers and Acquisitions in Vietnam from the Viewpoint of Intermediaries</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nguyen%20Thi%20Hoang%20Hieu">Nguyen Thi Hoang Hieu</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activities have increasingly become popular in both developed and developing countries. It is also an attractive topic for researchers to exploit in various sectors such as business, economies or finance. However, activities of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in M&A activities for a long time have not been sufficiently studied to provide the complete picture of what has been really, particularly in the developing market like Vietnam. The study employs semi-structured in-depth interviews with experts who have worked for years in the M&A sector to explore the participation motivation of both buy side and sell side of M&A activities. In addition, through the interviews, the study attempts to explain how firms finance their M&A deals. The collected data then will be content-analyzed to reflect the study's expectations based on the theories and practices reviews. In addition, limitations and recommendations are given in the hope that the M&A performance in Vietnam can be improved in the future. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mergers%20and%20acquisitions" title="mergers and acquisitions">mergers and acquisitions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vietnam" title=" Vietnam"> Vietnam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=small%20and%20medium%20enterprises" title=" small and medium enterprises"> small and medium enterprises</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=content-analysis" title=" content-analysis"> content-analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=semi-structure%20in-depth%20interview" title=" semi-structure in-depth interview"> semi-structure in-depth interview</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36655/participation-motivation-and-financing-approach-of-small-and-medium-enterprises-in-mergers-and-acquisitions-in-vietnam-from-the-viewpoint-of-intermediaries" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36655.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">262</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">279</span> A Method for Processing Unwanted Target Caused by Reflection in Secondary Surveillance Radar</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khanh%20D.Do">Khanh D.Do</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Loi%20V.Nguyen"> Loi V.Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Thanh%20N.Nguyen"> Thanh N.Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Thang%20M.Nguyen"> Thang M.Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vu%20T.Tran"> Vu T.Tran</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Along with the development of Secondary surveillance radar (SSR) in air traffic surveillance systems, the Multipath phenomena has always been a noticeable problem. The Mg, P and S distribution in µ-XRF mapping images correspond to the dark and light bands along the annual growth rings observed in microscopic images of the coral skeleton. The µ-XRF mapping data showed a positive correlation (r = 0.6) between P and S distribution in the coral skeleton. A contrasting distribution pattern of S and Mg along the axial skeleton of P. japonicum indicates a weak negative correlation (r = -0.2) between these two trace elements. The distribution pattern of S, P and Mg reveals linkage between their distributions and the formation of dark/light bands along the annual growth rings in the axial skeleton of P. japonicum. Sulfur and P were distributed in the organic matrix rich dark bands, while Mg was distributed in the light bands of the annual growth rings. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=%C2%B5-XRF" title="µ-XRF">µ-XRF</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=trace%20element" title=" trace element"> trace element</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=precious%20coral" title=" precious coral"> precious coral</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Paracorallium%20japonicum" title=" Paracorallium japonicum"> Paracorallium japonicum</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/4207/linkage-between-trace-element-distribution-and-growth-ring-formation-in-japanese-red-coral-paracorallium-japonicum" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/4207.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">442</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">277</span> Analytical Design of Fractional-Order PI Controller for Decoupling Control System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Truong%20Nguyen%20Luan%20Vu">Truong Nguyen Luan Vu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Le%20Hieu%20Giang"> Le Hieu Giang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Le%20Linh"> Le Linh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The FOPI controller is proposed based on the main properties of the decoupling control scheme, as well as the fractional calculus. The simplified decoupling is firstly introduced for multivariable processes by using coefficient matching to obtain a stable, proper, and causal simplified decoupler. Accordingly, transfer functions of decoupled apparent processes can be expressed as a set of <em>n</em> equivalent independent processes and then derived as a ratio of the original open-loop transfer function to the diagonal element of the dynamic relative gain array. The IMC-PID controller in series with filter is then directly employed to enhance the overall performance of the decoupling control system while avoiding difficulties arising from properties inherent to simplified decoupling. Some simulation studies are considered to demonstrate the simplicity and effectiveness of the proposed method. Simulations were conducted by tuning various controllers of the multivariate processes with multiple time delays. The results indicate that the proposed method consistently performs well with fast and well-balanced closed-loop time responses. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coefficient%20matching%20method" title="coefficient matching method">coefficient matching method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=internal%20model%20control%20%28IMC%29%20scheme" title=" internal model control (IMC) scheme"> internal model control (IMC) scheme</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PID%20controller%20cascaded%20filter" title=" PID controller cascaded filter"> PID controller cascaded filter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=simplified%20decoupler" title=" simplified decoupler"> simplified decoupler</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/48781/design-of-imc-pid-controller-cascaded-filter-for-simplified-decoupling-control-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/48781.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">442</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">274</span> A Sociological Investigation on the Population and Public Spaces of Nguyen Cong Tru, a Soviet-Style Collective Housing Complex in Hanoi in Regards to Its New Community-Focused Architectural Design</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Duy%20Nguyen%20Do">Duy Nguyen Do</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bart%20Julien%20Dewancker"> Bart Julien Dewancker</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Many Soviet-style collective housing complexes (also known as KTT) were built since the 1960s in Hanoi to support the post-war population growth. Those low-rise buildings have created well-knitted, robust communities, so much to the point that in most complexes, all families in one housing block would know each other, occasionally interact and provide supports in need. To understand how the community of collective housing complexes have developed and maintained in order to adapt their advantages into modern housing designs, the study is executed on the site of Nguyen Cong Tru KTT. This is one of the oldest KTT in Hanoi, completed in 1954. The complex also has an unique characteristic that is closely related to its community: the symbiotic relationship with Hom – a flea market that has been co-developing with Nguyen Cong Tru KTT since its beginning. The research consists of three phases: the first phase is a sociological investigation with Nguyen Cong Tru KTT’s current residents and a site survey on the complex’s economic and architectural characteristics. In the second phase, the collected data is analyzed to find out people’s opinions with the KTT’s concerning their satisfaction with the current housing status, floor plan organization, community, the relationship between the KTT’s dedicated public spaces with the flea market and their usage. Simultaneously, the master plan and gathered information regarding current architectural characteristics of the complex are also inspected. On the third phase, the analyses’ results will provide information regarding the issues, positive trends and significant historical features of the complex’s architecture in order to generate suitable proposals for the redesigning project of Nguyen Cong Tru KTT, a design focused on vitalizing modern apartments’ communities. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=collective%20house%20community" title="collective house community">collective house community</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=collective%20house%20public%20space" title=" collective house public space"> collective house public space</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=community-focused" title=" community-focused"> community-focused</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=redesigning%20Nguyen%20Cong%20Tru%20KTT" title=" redesigning Nguyen Cong Tru KTT"> redesigning Nguyen Cong Tru KTT</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sociological%20investigation" title=" sociological investigation "> sociological investigation </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/68487/a-sociological-investigation-on-the-population-and-public-spaces-of-nguyen-cong-tru-a-soviet-style-collective-housing-complex-in-hanoi-in-regards-to-its-new-community-focused-architectural-design" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/68487.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">363</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">273</span> Genetic Characteristics of Chicken Anemia Virus Circulating in Northern Vietnam</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hieu%20Van%20Dong">Hieu Van Dong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Giang%20Thi%20Huong%20Tran"> Giang Thi Huong Tran</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Giap%20Van%20Nguyen"> Giap Van Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tung%20Duy%20Dao"> Tung Duy Dao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vuong%20Nghia%20Bui"> Vuong Nghia Bui</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Le%20Thi%20My%20Huynh"> Le Thi My Huynh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yohei%20Takeda"> Yohei Takeda</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Haruko%20Ogawa"> Haruko Ogawa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kunitoshi%20Imai"> Kunitoshi Imai</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Chicken anemia virus (CAV) has a ubiquitous and worldwide distribution in chicken production. Our group previously reported high seroprevalence of CAV in chickens in northern Vietnam. In the present study, 330 tissue samples collected from commercial and breeder chicken farms in eleven provinces in northern Vietnam were tested for the CAV infection. We found that 157 out of 330 (47.58%) chickens were positive with CAV genes by real-time PCR method. Nine CAV strains obtained from the different location and time were forwarded to the full-length sequence of CAV VP1 gene. Phylogenetic analysis of the Vietnamese CAV vp1 gene indicated that the CAVs circulating in northern Vietnam were divided into three distinct genotypes, II, III, and V, but not clustered with the vaccine strains. Among the three genotypes, genotype III was the major one widely spread in Vietnam, and that included three sub-genotypes, IIIa, IIIb, and IIIc. The Vietnamese CAV strains were closely related to the Chinese, Taiwanese, and USA strains. All the CAV isolates had glutamine at amino acid position 394 in the VP1 gene, suggesting that they might be highly pathogenic strains. One strain was defined to be genotype V, which had not been reported for Vietnamese CAVs. Additional studies are required to further evaluate the pathogenicity of CAV strains circulating in Vietnam. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chicken%20anemia%20virus" title="chicken anemia virus">chicken anemia virus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genotype" title=" genotype"> genotype</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genetic%20characteristics" title=" genetic characteristics"> genetic characteristics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vietnam" title=" Vietnam"> Vietnam</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/105191/genetic-characteristics-of-chicken-anemia-virus-circulating-in-northern-vietnam" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/105191.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">167</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">272</span> A Novel Search Pattern for Motion Estimation in High Efficiency Video Coding</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Phong%20Nguyen">Phong Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Phap%20Nguyen"> Phap Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Thang%20Nguyen"> Thang Nguyen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) or H.265 Standard fulfills the demand of high resolution video storage and transmission since it achieves high compression ratio. However, it requires a huge amount of calculation. Since Motion Estimation (ME) block composes about 80 % of calculation load of HEVC, there are a lot of researches to reduce the computation cost. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm to lower the number of Motion Estimation’s searching points. The number of computing points in search pattern is down from 77 for Diamond Pattern and 81 for Square Pattern to only 31. Meanwhile, the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and bit rate are almost equal to those of conventional patterns. The motion estimation time of new algorithm reduces by at 68.23%, 65.83%compared to the recommended search pattern of diamond pattern, square pattern, respectively. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=motion%20estimation" title="motion estimation">motion estimation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wide%20diamond" title=" wide diamond"> wide diamond</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=search%20pattern" title=" search pattern"> search pattern</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H.265" title=" H.265"> H.265</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=test%20zone%20search" title=" test zone search"> test zone search</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HM%20software" title=" HM software"> HM software</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22368/a-novel-search-pattern-for-motion-estimation-in-high-efficiency-video-coding" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22368.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">611</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">271</span> Investigate the Movement of Salt-Wedge at Co Chien Estuary, Vietnam in the Context of Climate Change and Reduce Upstream Flow Using 3D Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hieu%20Duy%20Nguyen">Hieu Duy Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chitsan%20Lin%20Jr."> Chitsan Lin Jr.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dung%20Duc%20Tran"> Dung Duc Tran</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Nowadays, drought and salinity intrusion becomes a severe problem in the Lower Mekong region due to climate change, especially in coastal provinces. Freshwater resources are decreased due to sea-level rise and the decline in water flow from upstream in the dry season. The combination of the above issues can lead to many effects on the environment and human health in affected areas such as the pathological of digestive or decreased the immune system. Tidal cycle and upstream flows are the two main factors affecting the saline intrusion process and the former salt-wedge in the estuary. Under suitable conditions, salt-wedge can be going further upstream under the water surface and affected groundwater. In order to have a proper plan for the mitigation of the above adverse effects, we need to understand the characteristics of this process. In this study, 3D model is used to investigate the movement of salt-wedge under different conditions of tidal and flow discharge. The salinity in the vertical profile is also measured in the dry season of 2017 and 2018 for model calibrating. The data has proved that there is the presence of salt-wedge in the study area. The obtained results will help strategic planners to use and preserve water resources more effectively and serve as a basis for new research directions on saline intrusion and human health. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=salt-wedge" title="salt-wedge">salt-wedge</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=salinity%20intrusion" title=" salinity intrusion"> salinity intrusion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=human%20health" title=" human health"> human health</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=3D%20model" title=" 3D model"> 3D model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/117482/investigate-the-movement-of-salt-wedge-at-co-chien-estuary-vietnam-in-the-context-of-climate-change-and-reduce-upstream-flow-using-3d-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/117482.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">113</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">270</span> An Application of Hip Arthroscopy after Acute Injury - A Case Report</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Le%20Nguyen%20Binh">Le Nguyen Binh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Luong%20Xuan%20Binh"> Luong Xuan Binh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Le%20Van%20Tuan"> Le Van Tuan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tran%20Binh%20Duong"> Tran Binh Duong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Truong%20Nguyen%20Khanh%20Hung"> Truong Nguyen Khanh Hung</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Do%20Le%20Hoang%20Son"> Do Le Hoang Son</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pham%20Quang%20Vinh"> Pham Quang Vinh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hoang%20Quoc%20Huy"> Hoang Quoc Huy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nguyen%20Bach"> Nguyen Bach</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nguyen%20Quoc%20Khanh%20Le"> Nguyen Quoc Khanh Le</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jiunn%20Horng%20Kang"> Jiunn Horng Kang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: Traumatic hip dislocation is an emergency in young adult which can cause avascular necrosis of femoral head or osteoarthritis of hip joint. The reasons for these may be the loose body of bony or chondral fragments, which are difficult to be detected on CT scan or MRI. In those cases, Hip arthroscopy may be the method of choice for diagnosis and treatment of loose bodies in hip joint after traumatic dislocation. Methods: A case report is performed. A 55-year-old male patient was under hip arthroscopy to retrieve the loose body in the right hip joint. Results: The patient’s hip was reduced under anesthesia in the opeation room. Xray and CT scan post-reduction showed that his right hip was wide and a small fragment of femoral head (&lt; 5mm) locking inside the joint. A hip arthroscopy was done to take the fragment out. Post-operation, the patient went under rehabilition. After 6 months, he can walk with full-weight bearing; no further dislocaion was noted, and the Harris score was 84 points. Conclusions: Although acute traumatic injury of hip joint is usually treated with open surgeries, these methods have many drawbacks, such as soft tissue destruction, blood-loss,….Despite its technical requirement, hip arthroscopy is less invasive and effective treatment. Therefore, it may be an alternative treatment for a traumatic hip injury and can be applied frequently in the near future. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hip%20dislocation" title="hip dislocation">hip dislocation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hip%20arthroscopy" title=" hip arthroscopy"> hip arthroscopy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hip%20osteoarthritis" title=" hip osteoarthritis"> hip osteoarthritis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acute%20hip%20trauma" title=" acute hip trauma"> acute hip trauma</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162276/an-application-of-hip-arthroscopy-after-acute-injury-a-case-report" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162276.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">85</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">269</span> An Assessment of Tai Chi Exercise on Cognitive Performance in Vietnamese Older Adults</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hung%20Manh%20Nguyen">Hung Manh Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Duong%20Dai%20Nguyen"> Duong Dai Nguyen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objective: To evaluate the effects of Tai Chi exercise on cognitive performance of community-dwelling elderly in Vinh city, Vietnam. The ambiguity resolution method is an adaptive implementation of the coincidence algorithm, which is implemented on a two-dimensional (2D) range-velocity matrix to resolve range and velocity ambiguities simultaneously, with a proposed clustering filter to enhance the anti-error ability of the system. Here we consider the scenario of multiple target environments. The ghost target removal process, which is based on the power after Doppler processing, is proposed to mitigate ghosting detections to enhance the performance of ground-based radars using a short PRF schedule in multiple target environments. The mechanism of this disease is a failure of hepatic excretion of copper to the bile, and it leads to copper deposits in the liver and other organs. Most clinical symptoms of Wilson’s disease can present as liver disease and/or neurologic disease. Objective: The goal of the study is prenatal diagnosis for pregnant women at high risk of Wilson’s disease in Northern Vietnam. Material and method: Three probands with clinically diagnosed liver disease were detected in the mutations of 21 exons and exon-intron boundaries of the ATP7B gene by direct Sanger-sequencing. Prenatal diagnoses were performed by amniotic fluid sampling from pregnant women in the 16th-18th weeks of pregnancy after the genotypes of parents with the probands were identified. Result: A total of three different mutations of the probands, including of S105*, P1052L, P1273G, were detected. Among three fetuses which underwent prenatal genetic testing, one fetus was homozygote; two fetuses were carriers. Every year in Vietnam, flood causes great damage to people, property, and environmental degradation. The flood risk management policy in Vietnam is currently updated. The planning of flood mitigation strategies is reviewed to make a decision how to reach sustainable flood risk reduction. This paper discusses the basic approach where the measures of flood protection are chosen based on minimizing the present value of expected monetary expenses, total residual risk and costs of flood control measures. This approach will be proposed and demonstrated in a case study for flood risk management in Vinh Phuc province of Vietnam. Research also proposed the framework to find a solution of optimal protection level and optimal measures of the flood. It provides an explicit economic basis for flood risk management plans and interactive effects of options for flood damage reduction. The results of the case study are demonstrated and discussed which would provide the processing of actions helped decision makers to choose flood risk reduction investment options. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=drainage%20plan" title="drainage plan">drainage plan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flood%20planning" title=" flood planning"> flood planning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flood%20risk" title=" flood risk"> flood risk</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=residual%20risk" title=" residual risk"> residual risk</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=risk%20optimization" title=" risk optimization"> risk optimization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/87574/flood-planning-based-on-risk-optimization-a-case-study-in-phan-calo-river-basin-in-vinh-phuc-province-vietnam" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/87574.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">242</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">264</span> Enhancing the Stability of Vietnamese Power System - from Theory to Practical</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Edwin%20Lerch">Edwin Lerch</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dirk%20Audring"> Dirk Audring</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cuong%20Nguyen%20Mau"> Cuong Nguyen Mau</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Duc%20Ninh%20Nguyen"> Duc Ninh Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=The%20Cuong%20Nguyen"> The Cuong Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=The%20Van%20Nguyen"> The Van Nguyen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The National Load Dispatch Centre of Electricity Vietnam (EVNNLDC) and Siemens PTI investigated the stability of the electrical 500/220 kV transportation system of Vietnam. The general scope of the investigations is improving the stability of the Vietnam power system and giving the EVNNLDC staff the capability to decide how to deal with expected stability challenges in the future, which are related to the very fast growth of the system. Rapid system growth leads to a very high demand of power transmission from North to South. This was investigated by stability studies of interconnected power system with neighboring countries. These investigations are performed in close cooperation and coordination with the EVNNLDC project team. This important project includes data collection, measurement, model validation and investigation of relevant stability phenomena as well as training of the EVNNLDC staff. Generally, the power system of Vietnam has good voltage and dynamic stability. The main problems are related to the longitudinal system with more power generation in the North and Center, especially hydro power, and load centers in the South of Vietnam. Faults on the power transmission system from North to South risks the stability of the entire system due to a high power transfer from North to South and high loading of the 500 kV backbone. An additional problem is the weak connection to Cambodia power system which leads to interarea oscillations mode. Therefore, strengthening the power transfer capability by new 500kV lines or HVDC connection and balancing the power generation across the country will solve many challenges. Other countermeasures, such as wide area load shedding, PSS tuning and correct SVC placement will improve and stabilize the power system as well. Primary frequency reserve should be increased. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20power%20transmission%20system%20studies" title="dynamic power transmission system studies">dynamic power transmission system studies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=blackout%20prevention" title=" blackout prevention"> blackout prevention</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=power%20system%20interconnection" title=" power system interconnection"> power system interconnection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stability" title=" stability"> stability</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58895/enhancing-the-stability-of-vietnamese-power-system-from-theory-to-practical" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58895.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">359</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">263</span> Efficient Heuristic Algorithm to Speed Up Graphcut in Gpu for Image Stitching</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tai%20Nguyen">Tai Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Minh%20Bui"> Minh Bui</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Huong%20Ninh"> Huong Ninh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tu%20Nguyen"> Tu Nguyen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hai%20Tran"> Hai Tran</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> GraphCut algorithm has been widely utilized to solve various types of computer vision problems. Its expensive computational cost encouraged many researchers to improve the speed of the algorithm. Recent works proposed schemes that work on parallel computing platforms such as CUDA. However, the problem of low convergence speed prevents the usage of GraphCut for real time applications. In this paper, we propose global suppression heuristic to boost the conver-gence process of the algorithm. A parallel implementation of GraphCut algorithm on CUDA designed for the image stitching problem is introduced. Our method achieves up to 3× time boost on the graph of size 80 × 480 compared to the best sequential GraphCut algorithm while achieving satisfactory stitched images, suitable for panorama applications. Our source code will be soon available for further research. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CUDA" title="CUDA">CUDA</a>, <a
