Come<MG1205>, see<MG3708> the place<MG5117> where<MG3699> He was lying<MG2749>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>And go<MG4198> quickly<MG5035> and tell<MG3004> His disciples<MG3101> that He has risen<MG1453> from the dead<MG3498>; and behold<MG2400>, He is going<MG4254> ahead<MG4254> of you to Galilee<MG1056>. There<MG1563> you will see<MG3708> Him; behold<MG2400>, I have told<MG3004> you.” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And they left<MG565> the tomb<MG3419> quickly<MG5035> with fear<MG5401> and great<MG3173> joy<MG5479>, and ran<MG5143> to report<MG518> to His disciples<MG3101>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And behold<MG2400>, Jesus<MG2424> met<MG5221> them <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>and said<MG3004>, “<span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>Rejoice<MG5463>!” And they came<MG4334> up<MG4334> and took<MG2902> hold<MG2902> of His feet<MG4228>, and worshiped<MG4352> Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Then<MG5119> Jesus<MG2424> *said<MG3004> to them, “<span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>Do not be<MG5399> afraid<MG5399>; go<MG5217>, bring<MG518> word<MG518> to My brothers<MG80> to leave<MG565> for Galilee<MG1056>, and there<MG1563> they will see<MG3708> Me.” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>Now<MG1161> while they were<MG4198> on<MG4198> their way<MG4198>, some<MG5100> of the <i>men from the</i> guard<MG2892> came<MG2064> into the city<MG4172> and reported<MG518> to the chief<MG749> priests<MG749> all<MG537a> that had happened<MG1096>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And when they had assembled<MG4863> with the elders<MG4245> and consulted<MG4824, 2983> together<MG4824>, they gave<MG1325> a large<MG2425> sum<MG2425> of money<MG694> to the soldiers<MG4757>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>and said<MG3004>, “You are to say<MG3004>, ‘His disciples<MG3101> came<MG2064> at night<MG3571> and stole<MG2813> Him while we were<MG2837> asleep<MG2837>.’ <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>And if<MG1437> this<MG3778> comes<MG191> to the governor’s<MG2232> ears<MG191>, we will appease<MG3982> him and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>keep<MG4160> you out<MG275> of<MG275> trouble<MG275>.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>And they took<MG2983> the money<MG694> and did<MG4160> as they had been instructed<MG1321>; and this<MG3778> story<MG3056> was widely<MG1310> spread<MG1310> among<MG3844> the Jews<MG2453> <i>and is</i> to this<MG4594> day<MG4594>. <p class="hdg">The Great Commission</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>But the eleven<MG1733> disciples<MG3101> proceeded<MG4198> to Galilee<MG1056>, to the mountain<MG3735> which<MG3757> Jesus<MG2424> had designated<MG5021> to them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>And when they saw<MG3708> Him, they worshiped<MG4352> <i>Him;</i> but some<MG3588> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>were doubtful<MG1365b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>And Jesus<MG2424> came<MG4334> up<MG4334> and spoke<MG2980> to them, saying<MG3004>, “All<MG3956> authority<MG1849> in heaven<MG3772> and on earth<MG1093> has been given<MG1325> to Me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>Go<MG4198>, therefore<MG3767>, and make<MG3100> disciples<MG3100> of all<MG3956> the nations<MG1484>, baptizing<MG907> them in the name<MG3686> of the Father<MG3962> and the Son<MG5207> and the Holy<MG40> Spirit<MG4151>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>teaching<MG1321> them to <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>follow<MG5083> all<MG3956> that I commanded<MG1781> you;
