Due to licence restrictions, alumni do not have access to the KU Leuven Libraries' electronic sources from home.</p> <hr /> <h3><a id="sports" name="sports"></a>As an alumnus, can I play sports at a reduced price?</h3> <p>Yes. As a graduate, you can make use of the offer and accommodations of the University Sports Centre at a reduced rate. Please don't forget to update your personal information on <a href="https://connect.kuleuven.cloud/?lang=en">KU Leuven Connect</a>. </p> <hr /> <h3><a id="number" name="number"></a>Do I get an alumni number?</h3> <p>The alumni number or q-number is no longer in use. Your personal email address gives you access to the alumni portal <a href="http://connect.kuleuven.cloud/?lang=en">KU Leuven Connect</a>, where you can update your profile, look up fellow alumni and stay up-to-date on the ins and outs of the University.</p> <hr /> <h3><a id="reunion" name="reunion"></a>I want to organise a reunion. Where to go from here?</h3> <p>Your alumni association and/or faculty offer support in organising your reunion with: </p> <ul> <li>sending the invitations (passing on a list of names is not possible because of the GDPR legislation);</li> <li>room reservation via the Office for Room Reservations and Events.</li> </ul> <p>There is no financial support from the Alumni Office. However, you can discuss this with your alumni circle and/or faculty.</p> <p>We invite you to activate your alumni account on <a href="https://www.kuleuven.be/connect">KU Leuven Connect</a> if you have not done so already. Find former classmates and other fellow alumni via the 'Find alumni' tab or send them a direct message or invitation. Due to GDPR legislation, some data are not visible. Most address information is hidden by default. You can always <a href="https://www.kuleuven.be/wieiswie/nl/person/ue711170">contact us</a> with questions or complaints about the processing of your personal data at the Alumni Office. </p> <hr /> <h3><a id="copy diploma" name="copy%20diploma"></a>Where can I obtain a copy of my diploma or transcript?</h3> <p style="text-align: justify;">Please contact the <a href="https://www.kuleuven.be/inschrijvingen/contact-aanvragen/attestaanvraag.html">Registrar's Office</a> to obtain a copy of your KU Leuven diploma. As from 31 March 2004, the certification of documents by the federal government was abolished. Your employer or a foreign authority may still ask for a certified copy of your diploma. To this end, you must provide KU Leuven with the original diploma and the necessary copies.<br /> If you need to consult your obtained diplomas, you can also visit the <a href="http://leerenervaringsbewijzendatabank.be/">Evidence of Learning and Experience Database (LED)</a>. It collects all kinds of diplomas, certificates, proof of experience, attestations, etc., from different Flemish databases: the database for secondary education, higher education, Syntra and from the Flemish Department of Employment Agency (VDAB). You need an electronic identity card (eID) or a federal token to consult the LED, and you can only consult your personal certificates. The LED contains only the information on the diplomas and no scans of hard copies. You cannot print this information. </p> <hr /> <h3><a id="certificates" name="certificates"></a>How do I apply for specific certificates or degrees?</h3> <p>Should you no longer have access to KU Loket and require a certificate or degree, kindly refer to our <a href="https://www.kuleuven.be/english/education/student/register/contact/requestforcertificates">website</a> for further information.</p> <hr /> <h3><a id="cannot" name="cannot"></a>What cannot be requested?</h3> <p>› Original diploma: after graduation, the faculty sends <a href="https://www.kuleuven.be/english/education/student/Learningpath/receiving-your-diploma">your original diploma</a> to the correspondence address in KU Loket.<br /> › Grade list/transcripts: please contact your faculty's student administration office.<br /> › NMBS certificate for a work placement: if you use the train to travel to your work placement, you should apply for a certificate at your faculty's work placement office.<br /> › Certificate for child benefit: this information is transmitted electronically to the funds by the government. <br /> › Certificate for study grant: this information is transmitted electronically via the Higher Education Database. </p> <hr /> <h3><a id="bibkaart" name="bibkaart"></a>How do alumni get a library card?</h3> <p style="text-align: justify;">As a paying member of one of our alumni associations, you can activate the library card in all university libraries free of charge (normal activation fee is € 25/year). This benefit does not include remote access to research databases and e-sources. However, you can access them in one the KU Leuven libraries. Where can I find information?</h3> <p>Do you want to gain experience abroad? Both during and after your studies, you can apply for various national and international scholarship programmes.
