The Strategy has been designed to:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Enable the American people and an increasingly mobile workforce to access high-quality digital government information and services anywhere, anytime, on any device.</li><li>Ensure that as the government adjusts to this new digital world, we seize the opportunity to procure and manage devices, applications, and data in smart, secure and affordable ways.</li><li>Unlock the power of government data to spur innovation across our Nation and improve the quality of services for the American people.</li></ul><p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20140921002152/http://epa.gov/environmentaljustice/resources/policy/exec_order_12898.pdf"><b>Federal Actions To Address Environmental Justice In Minority Populations And Low-Income Populations (Executive Order 12898)</b></a> (PDF, 123KB)<br/>This Executive Order directs each Federal agency to make achieving environmental justice part of its mission by identifying and addressing, as appropriate, disproportionately high and adverse human health or environmental effects of its programs, policies, and activities on minority populations and low-income populations in the United States and its territories and possessions, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the Commonwealth of the Marian islands.</p><p>The <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20140921002152/http://epa.gov/environmentaljustice/interagency/index.html"><b>Federal Interagency Working Group on Environmental Justice (EJ IWG)</b></a> was established in 1994 under Executive Order (EO) 12898. The role of the EJ IWG is to guide, support and enhance federal environmental justice and community-based activities. The EJ IWG is comprised of 17 federal agencies and several White House offices.</p><p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20140921002152/http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/omb/memoranda/2014/m-14-06.pdf"><b>Guidance for Providing and Using Administrative Data for Statistical Purposes</b></a> (PDF, 646KB)<br/>Advice to agencies on how to share non-public administrative data for statistical purposes in responsible ways that protect confidentiality.</p><p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20140921002152/http://www.hhs.gov/open/execorders/13166/index.html"><b>HHS Reaffirms Commitment Access to All Programs and Activities by LEP Persons Pledged (Executive Order 13166)</b><br/></a>The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released its 2013 Language Access Plan, an update from the HHS Language Access Strategic Plan released in 2000. The release of the plan demonstrates the Department’s commitment to providing meaningful access to HHS programs and activities by persons with limited English proficiency.</p><p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20140921002152/http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2013/07/15/executive-order-hiv-care-continuum-initiative"><b>HIV Care Continuum Initiative<br/></b></a>This Executive Order directs Federal agencies to prioritize addressing the continuum of HIV care by accelerating efforts and directing existing federal resources to increase HIV testing, services, and treatment, and improve patient access to all three.</p><p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20140921002152/http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2013/02/12/executive-order-improving-critical-infrastructure-cybersecurity"><b>Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity</b></a><br/>President Obama signed an Executive Order to strengthen the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure by increasing information sharing and by jointly developing and implementing a framework of cybersecurity practices with our industry partners.</p><p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20140921002152/http://www.hhs.gov/open/execorders/13563/index.html"><b>Improving Regulation and Regulatory Review (Executive Order 13563)</b></a><b><br/></b>HHS is committed to identifying and reviewing existing regulations in order to eliminate those that are obsolete, unnecessary, burdensome, or counterproductive or to modify others to increase their effectiveness, efficiency, and flexibility.</p><p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20140921002152/http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/microsites/ostp/ostp_public_access_memo_2013.pdf"><b>Increasing Access to the Results of Federally Funded Scientific Research</b></a> (PDF, 56KB)<br/>John P. Holdren, Director of the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy, issued this memorandum directing federal research funding agencies with R&D budgets of $100 million or more to develop a plan within six months to support increased public access to the results of research funded by the federal Government.</p><p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20140921002152/http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/omb/memoranda/2013/m-13-17.pdf"><b>Next Steps in the Evidence and Innovation Agenda</b></a> (PDF, 793KB)<br/>This memo stresses the application of existing evidence as paramount to creating a government that is more responsive to the needs of its citizens.
