In 2013/2014 for 7 months he was a Grotius Visiting Research Fellow at University of Michigan Law School. Prior to his PhD he interned at the European Commission and was a student assistant for prof. Peter van den Bossche, Member of the WTO Appellate Body. He completed a 2 year LLM in International Law at Maastricht University (top 3%), with a half a year exchange at Bucerius Law School, Hamburg and another half a year exchange at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. During his LLB he spent 1 year as an Erasmus student at Utrecht University Law School and graduated as class first from Babes‑Bolyai University Law School, Romania. He has taught EU internal market law in Denmark and currently has 4 peer-reviewed published or accepted articles and a further 2 under review. </p> <p><strong>Dr. José Manuel Cortés Martín</strong> is Full Assistant Professor of Public International Law and Jean Monnet Professor of European Union Law at the Pablo de Olavide University of Seville (Spain). He graduated with a Master's degree in European Union Law at the University of Liège and received his PhD in International Law from the Pablo de Olavide University of Seville (2002) with the thesis La protección de las indicaciones geográficas en el comercio internacional e intracomunitario, Ministerio de Agricultura, Madrid, 2003.<br /> He has been Visiting Professor at the University of Texas (2003) and Visiting Fellow at the University of Harvard (2006), among other universities and institutions. He served as Counsel of the European Union Law Department of the Regional Government of Andalusia (1995-1999). He is Editor of Revista de Derecho Comunitario Europeo, member of the Board of editors of Gaceta Jurídica de la Unión Europea and Revista de Estudios Regionales.</p> <p><strong>Dr. Asier Garrido-Muñoz </strong>is Assistant Professor at the University of Salamanca (Spain). His research project at CLEER deals with the ‘war paradigm’ of the EU counter-terrorism policy. His main areas of interest are International and EU Counter-Terrorism Policy and EU External Relations Law, as well as general topics of Public international law such Human rights Law, State and International Organizations responsibility and State succession to treaties. Sevilla (Spain). She has been visiting researcher at the University Robert Schuman (Strasbourg. France), the University of Twente (Enschede. Netherlands), the King’s College London (UK), and Fordham University (New York. USA). She spent a three month research stay at CLEER in 2013. On 29 October, she delivered a lecture to the Asser researchers on 'The European Union and the Kimberley Process'. <br /> <br /> <strong>Luca Pantaleo </strong>(PhD candidate of the University of Macerata) spent a three-month research stay at CLEER in 2012. On 13 March he talked about the findings of his research conducted at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut on ‘Issues concerning international agreements of EU Member States not binding the Union: the case of the UN Charter’. Asser Instituut in the second half of 2010.<br /> <br /> <strong>Nicole Betz </strong>(Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute, Heidelberg) spent a three-month research stay at CLEER, hosted by the T.M.C. Asser Instituut.
