Several mortar grades were obtained by mixing cement with different amounts of recycled foam, aggregate and water. The physical and mechanical properties of the samples such as density, thermal conductivity, thermal resistivity and compressive strength were investigated. Results show that an increase in the amount of recycled foam affects the mortar, decreasing its density and mechanical properties while increasing its workability, permeability, and occluded air content. These results confirm that mortar produced with recycled foam is comparable to light weight mortar made with traditional materials. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=light%20weight" title="light weight">light weight</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mortars" title=" mortars"> mortars</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recycled%20foam" title=" recycled foam"> recycled foam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=civil%20engineering" title=" civil engineering"> civil engineering</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/7829/light-weight-mortars-produced-from-recycled-foam" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/7829.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">313</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7446</span> Properties of Modified Dry Masonry Mixtures for Effective Masonry Units</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vyacheslav%20S.%20Semenov">Vyacheslav S. For the one-layer fencing structures including effective masonry units, the use of “warm” masonry mortars is necessary. The used light-weight masonry mortars do not provide the brand strength and thermal uniformity of the fencing structures because of high average density. The CMS are effective light-weight aggregate for such mortars. The influence of the dosage of CMS on the physics-and-mechanics parameters and the technological properties of the masonry mortars were studied. The optimal mixture compositions have been obtained and their main properties have been determined. The influence of an air-entraining admixture and redispersible polymer powders on the average density and physics-and-mechanics parameters of the masonry mortars were studied. The optimal compositions of light-weight dry masonry mixtures with CMS have been suggested. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dry%20mortar%20mixtures" title="dry mortar mixtures">dry mortar mixtures</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=light-weight%20dry%20mixtures" title=" light-weight dry mixtures"> light-weight dry mixtures</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hollow%20ceramics%20microspheres" title=" hollow ceramics microspheres"> hollow ceramics microspheres</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=masonry%20mortars" title=" masonry mortars"> masonry mortars</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=%E2%80%9Cwarm%E2%80%9D%20mortars" title=" “warm” mortars"> “warm” mortars</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=air-entraining%20admixture" title=" air-entraining admixture"> air-entraining admixture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=redispersible%20polymer%20powders" title=" redispersible polymer powders"> redispersible polymer powders</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/8834/properties-of-modified-dry-masonry-mixtures-for-effective-masonry-units" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/8834.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">505</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7445</span> Development of Long and Short Range Ordered Domains in a High Specific Strength Steel</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nikhil%20Kumar">Nikhil Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aparna%20Singh"> Aparna Singh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Microstructural development when annealed at different temperatures in a high aluminum and manganese light weight steel has been examined. The effects of magnetic water, superplasticizer based on polycarboxylic-ether, and silica fume on characteristics of this type of concrete are studied. The workability of fresh concrete and the compressive strength of hardened concrete are considered here. For this purpose, nine mix designs were studied. The percentages of superplasticizer were 0.5, 1, and 2% of the weight of cement, and the percentages of silica fume were 0, 6, and 10% of the weight of cement. The water to cementitious ratios were 0.28, 0.32, and 0.36. The workability of concrete samples was analyzed by the devices such as slump flow, V-funnel, L box, U box, and Urimet with J ring. Then, the compressive strengths of the mixes at the ages of 3, 7, 28, and 90 days were obtained. The results show that by using magnetic water, the compressive strengths are improved at all the ages. In the concrete samples with ordinary water, more superplasticizer dosages were needed. Moreover, the combination of superplasticizer and magnetic water had positive effects on the mixes containing silica fume and they could flow easily. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=magnetic%20water" title="magnetic water">magnetic water</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=self-compacting%20light%20weight%20concrete" title=" self-compacting light weight concrete"> self-compacting light weight concrete</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=silica%20fume" title=" silica fume"> silica fume</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=superplasticizer" title=" superplasticizer"> superplasticizer</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44599/the-behavior-of-self-compacting-light-weight-concrete-produced-by-magnetic-water" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44599.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">368</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7443</span> Light-Weight Network for Real-Time Pose Estimation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jianghao%20Hu">Jianghao Hu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hongyu%20Wang"> Hongyu Wang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The effective and efficient human pose estimation algorithm is an important task for real-time human pose estimation on mobile devices. This paper proposes a light-weight human key points detection algorithm, Light-Weight Network for Real-Time Pose Estimation (LWPE). LWPE uses light-weight backbone network and depthwise separable convolutions to reduce parameters and lower latency. LWPE uses the feature pyramid network (FPN) to fuse the high-resolution, semantically weak features with the low-resolution, semantically strong features. In the meantime, with multi-scale prediction, the predicted result by the low-resolution feature map is stacked to the adjacent higher-resolution feature map to intermediately monitor the network and continuously refine the results. At the last step, the key point coordinates predicted in the highest-resolution are used as the final output of the network. For the key-points that are difficult to predict, LWPE adopts the online hard key points mining strategy to focus on the key points that hard predicting. The proposed algorithm achieves excellent performance in the single-person dataset selected in the AI (artificial intelligence) challenge dataset. The algorithm maintains high-precision performance even though the model only contains 3.9M parameters, and it can run at 225 frames per second (FPS) on the generic graphics processing unit (GPU). <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=depthwise%20separable%20convolutions" title="depthwise separable convolutions">depthwise separable convolutions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=feature%20pyramid%20network" title=" feature pyramid network"> feature pyramid network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=human%20pose%20estimation" title=" human pose estimation"> human pose estimation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=light-weight%20backbone" title=" light-weight backbone "> light-weight backbone </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/112845/light-weight-network-for-real-time-pose-estimation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/112845.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">154</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7442</span> Growth and Biochemical Composition of Tetraselmis sp. and Chlorella sp. under Varied Growth Conditions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20Alsull">M. Typically, the concrete structures has disadvantage of increasing the weight due to its mass in comparison to the strength of the materials. Therefore, in order to improve such problems, the light-weight aggregate concrete and high strength concrete materials have been studied during the past decades. On the other hand, the study of light-weight aggregate concrete materials has lack of data in comparison to the concrete structure using high strength materials, relatively. Consequently, this study presents the performance characteristics of light-weight aggregate concrete materials due to the material properties and strength. Also, this study conducted the experimental tests with respect to normal and lightweight aggregate materials, in order to indentify the tensile crack failure of the concrete structures. As a result, the Crack Mouth Opening Displacement (CMOD) from the experimental tests was constructed and the fracture energy using inverse problem analysis was developed from the force-CMOD relationship in this study, respectively. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lightweight%20aggregate%20concrete" title="lightweight aggregate concrete">lightweight aggregate concrete</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=crack%20mouth%20opening%20displacement" title=" crack mouth opening displacement"> crack mouth opening displacement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inverse%20analysis" title=" inverse analysis"> inverse analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fracture%20energy" title=" fracture energy"> fracture energy</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30044/lightweight-concrete-fracture-energy-derived-by-inverse-analysis" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30044.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">357</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7440</span> Development of Light-Weight Fibre-Based Materials for Building Envelopes</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ren%C3%A9%20%C4%8Cechm%C3%A1nek">René Čechmánek</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vladan%20Pracha%C5%99"> Vladan Prachař</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ludv%C3%ADk%20Lederer"> Ludvík Lederer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ji%C5%99%C3%AD%20Loskot"> Jiří Loskot</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Thin-walled elements with a matrix set on a base of high-valuable Portland cement with dispersed reinforcement from alkali-resistant glass fibres are used in a range of applications as claddings of buildings and infrastructure constructions as well as various architectural elements of residential buildings. Even if their elementary thickness and therefore total weight is quite low, architects and building companies demand on even further decreasing of the bulk density of these fibre-cement elements for the reason of loading elimination of connected superstructures and easier assembling in demand conditions. By the means of various kinds of light-weight aggregates it is possible to achieve light-weighing of thin-walled fibre-cement composite elements. From the range of possible fillers with different material properties granulated expanded glass worked the best. By the means of laboratory testing an effect of two fillers based on expanded glass on the fibre reinforced cement composite was verified. Practical applicability was tested in the production of commonly manufactured glass fibre reinforced concrete elements, such as channels for electrical cable deposition, products for urban equipment and especially various cladding elements. Even if these are not structural elements, it is necessary to evaluate also strength characteristics and resistance to environment for their durability in certain applications. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fibre-cement%20composite" title="fibre-cement composite">fibre-cement composite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=granulated%20expanded%20glass" title=" granulated expanded glass"> granulated expanded glass</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=light-weighing" title=" light-weighing"> light-weighing</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/27240/development-of-light-weight-fibre-based-materials-for-building-envelopes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/27240.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">291</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7439</span> Influential Effect of Self-Healing Treatment on Water Absorption and Electrical Resistance of Normal and Light Weight Aggregate Concretes</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=B.%20Tayebani">B. Cement materials such as mortar and concrete basically suffer from higher porosity and water absorption compared to other building materials such as steel materials. Because of the negative side-effects of certain chemical techniques, biological methods have been proposed as a desired and environmentally friendly strategy for reducing concrete porosity and diminishing water absorption. This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation carried out to evaluate the influence of <em>Sporosarcina pasteurii</em> bacteria on the behaviour of two types of concretes (light weight aggregate concrete and normal weight concrete). The resistance of specimens to water penetration by testing water absorption and evaluating the electrical resistance of those concretes was examined and compared. As a conclusion, 20% increase in electrical resistance and 10% reduction in water absorption of lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC) and for normal concrete the results show 7% decrease in water absorption and almost 10% increase in electrical resistance. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bacteria" title="bacteria">bacteria</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biological%20method" title=" biological method"> biological method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=normal%20weight%20concrete" title=" normal weight concrete"> normal weight concrete</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lightweight%20aggregate%20concrete" title=" lightweight aggregate concrete"> lightweight aggregate concrete</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=water%20absorption" title=" water absorption"> water absorption</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrical%20resistance" title=" electrical resistance"> electrical resistance</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/105329/influential-effect-of-self-healing-treatment-on-water-absorption-and-electrical-resistance-of-normal-and-light-weight-aggregate-concretes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/105329.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">181</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7438</span> Effect of Piston and its Weight on the Performance of a Gun Tunnel via Computational Fluid Dynamics</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=A.%20A.%20Ahmadi">A. Here, first consideration is the optimum piston weight. Although various aspects of the influence of piston weight on gun tunnel performance have been studied, it is not possible to decide from the existing literature what piston weight is required for optimum performance in various conditions. The technique whereby the piston is rapidly brought to rest at the end of the gun tunnel barrel, and the resulted peak pressure is equal in magnitude to the final equilibrium pressure, is called the equilibrium piston technique. The equilibrium piston technique was developed to estimate the equilibrium piston mass; but this technique cannot give an appropriate estimate for the optimum piston weight. In the present work, a gun tunnel with diameter of 3 in. is described and its performance is investigated numerically to obtain the effect of piston and its weight. Numerical results in the present work are in very good agreement with experimental results. Significant influence of the existence of a piston is shown by comparing the gun tunnel results with results of a conventional shock tunnel in the same dimension and same initial condition. In gun tunnel, an increase of around 250% in running time is gained relative to shock tunnel. Also, Numerical results show that equilibrium piston technique is not a good way to estimate suitable piston weight and there will be a lighter piston which can increase running time of the gun tunnel around 60%. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gun%20tunnel" title="gun tunnel">gun tunnel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hypersonic%20flow" title=" hypersonic flow"> hypersonic flow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=piston" title=" piston"> piston</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=shock%20tunnel" title=" shock tunnel"> shock tunnel</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37641/effect-of-piston-and-its-weight-on-the-performance-of-a-gun-tunnel-via-computational-fluid-dynamics" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37641.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">373</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7437</span> Beak Size and Asynchronous Hatch in Broiler Chicks</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mariana%20Thimotheo">Mariana Thimotheo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gabriel%20Carvalho%20Ripamonte"> Gabriel Carvalho Ripamonte</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marina%20De%20Almeida%20Nogueira"> Marina De Almeida Nogueira</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Silvia%20Camila%20Da%20Costa%20Aguiar"> Silvia Camila Da Costa Aguiar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marcelo%20Henrique%20Santana%20Ulian"> Marcelo Henrique Santana Ulian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Euclides%20Braga%20Malheiros"> Euclides Braga Malheiros</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Isabel%20Cristina%20Boleli"> Isabel Cristina Boleli</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Beak plays a fundamental role in the hatching process of the chicks, since it is used for internal and external pipping. The present study examined whether the size of the beak influences the birth period of the broiler chicks in the hatching window. It was analyzed the beak size (length, height and width) of one-hundred twenty nine newly hatched chicks from light eggs (56.22-61.05g) and one-hundred twenty six chicks from heavy eggs (64.95-70.90g), produced by 38 and 45 weeks old broiler breeders (Cobb 500®), respectively. Egg incubation occurred at 37.5°C and 60% RH, with egg turning every hour. Length, height and width of the beaks were measured using a digital caliper (Zaas precision - digital caliper 6", 0.01mm) and the data expressed in millimeters. The beak length corresponded to distance between the tip of the beak and the rictus. The height of the beak was measured in the region of the culmen and its width in the region of the nostrils. Data were analyzed following a 3x2 factorial experimental design, being three birth periods within the hatching window (early: 471.78 to 485.42h, intermediate: 485.43 to 512.27h, and late: 512.28 to 528.72h) and two egg weights (light and heavy). There was a significant interaction between birth period and egg weight for beak height (P < 0.05), which was higher in the intermediate chicks from heavy eggs than in the other chicks from the same egg weight and chicks from light eggs (P < 0.05), that did not differ (P > 0.05). The beak length was influenced only for a birth period, and decreased through the hatch window (early < intermediate < late) (P < 0.05). The width of the beaks was influenced by both main factors, birth period and egg weight (P < 0.05). Early and intermediate chicks had similar beak width, but greater than late chicks, and chicks from heavy eggs presented greater beak width than chicks from light eggs (P < 0.05). In sum, the results show that chicks with longer beak hatch first and that beak length is an important variable for hatch period determination mainly for light eggs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=beak%20dimensions" title="beak dimensions">beak dimensions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=egg%20weight" title=" egg weight"> egg weight</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hatching%20period" title=" hatching period"> hatching period</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hatching%20window" title=" hatching window"> hatching window</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/93974/beak-size-and-asynchronous-hatch-in-broiler-chicks" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/93974.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">168</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7436</span> 11-Round Impossible Differential Attack on Midori64</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhan%20Chen">Zhan Chen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wenquan%20Bi"> Wenquan Bi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper focuses on examining the strength of Midori against impossible differential attack. The experiment was laid out on split plot design following the Randomized Complete Block Design. The Looseleaf variety had better performance in terms of plant fresh weight, leaf fresh weight, leaf dry weight, root length, plant height and yield. However, better response was observed in Romaine in terms of leaf diameter, leaf length, root dry weight and root fresh weight. The color of the mulch reflected different qualities of light and hence the quality of absorbed light by the lettuce plants. A higher Far red and red ratio (FR:R) was obtained from green plastic mulch which was followed by the red plastic mulch. The different colored plastic mulch affected the growth and developmental responses of leaf lettuce morphological and leaf anatomical characteristics. Data in all growth morphological and yield parameters showed that those grown with red plastic mulch had better response and had longer stomates than those lettuce grown with the other colored plastic mulch. The soil temperature 10 cm below the plastic mulch was significantly influenced by the color of the mulch. The red plastic mulch had the highest soil temperature recorded while the lowest soil temperature recorded was within the yellow plastic mulch. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anatomical" title="anatomical">anatomical</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lettuce" title=" lettuce"> lettuce</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morpholological" title=" morpholological"> morpholological</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=plastic%20mulch" title=" plastic mulch"> plastic mulch</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22189/morpho-anatomical-responses-of-leaf-lettuce-lactuca-sativa-l-grown-with-different-colored-plastic-mulch" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22189.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">544</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7432</span> Improved Impossible Differential Cryptanalysis of Midori64</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhan%20Chen">Zhan Chen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wenquan%20Bi"> Wenquan Bi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xiaoyun%20Wang"> Xiaoyun Wang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The Midori family of light weight block cipher is proposed in ASIACRYPT2015. However, precise characterization on molecular weight of PAA is still a challenge because of the existence of very complicated interactions in the solution system, including the electrostatic interaction, hydrogen bond interaction, dipole-dipole interaction, etc. Thus, it is necessary to establisha suitable strategy which can completely suppress these complex effects and get reasonable data on molecular weight. Herein, the gel permeation chromatography (GPC) coupled with differential refractive index (RI) and multi-angle laser light scattering (MALLS) detectors were applied to measure the molecular weight of (6FDA-DMB) PAA using different mobile phases, LiBr/DMF, LiBr/H3PO4/THF/DMF, LiBr/HAc/THF/DMF, and LiBr/HAc/DMF, respectively. It was found that combination of LiBr with HAc can shield the above-mentioned complex interactions and is more conducive to the separation of PAA than only addition of LiBr in DMF. LiBr/HAc/DMF was employed for the first time as a mild mobile phase to effectively separate PAA and determine its molecular weight. After a series of conditional experiments, 0.02M LiBr/0.2M HAc/DMF was fixed as an optimized mobile phase to measure the relative and absolute molecular weights of (6FDA-DMB) PAA prepared, and the obtained Mw from GPC-MALLS and GPC-RI were 35,300 g/mol and 125,000 g/mol, respectively. Particularly, such a mobile phase is also applicable to other PAA samples with different structures, and the final results on molecular weight are also reproducible. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Polyamic%20acids" title="Polyamic acids">Polyamic acids</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Polyelectrolyte%20effects" title=" Polyelectrolyte effects"> Polyelectrolyte effects</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gel%20permeation%20chromatography" title=" Gel permeation chromatography"> Gel permeation chromatography</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mobile%20phase" title=" Mobile phase"> Mobile phase</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Molecular%20weight" title=" Molecular weight"> Molecular weight</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/173439/characterization-on-molecular-weight-of-polyamic-acids-using-gpc-coupled-with-multiple-detectors" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/173439.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">55</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7430</span> Utilization of Composite Components for Land Vehicle Systems: A Review</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kivilcim%20Ersoy">Kivilcim Ersoy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cansu%20Yazganarikan"> Cansu Yazganarikan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In recent years, composite materials are more frequently utilized not only in aviation but also in automotive industry due to its high strength to weight ratio, fatigue and corrosion resistances as well as better performances in specific environments. The market demand also favors lightweight design for wheeled and tracked armored vehicles due to the increased demand for land and amphibious mobility features. This study represents the current application areas and trends in automotive, bus and armored land vehicles industries. In addition, potential utilization areas of fiber composite and hybrid material concepts are being addressed. This work starts with a survey of current applications and patent trends of composite materials in automotive and land vehicle industries. An intensive investigation is conducted to determine the potential of these materials for application in land vehicle industry, where small series production dominates and challenging requirements are concerned. In the end, potential utilization areas for combat land vehicle systems are offered. By implementing these light weight solutions with alternative materials and design concepts, it is possible to achieve drastic weight reduction, which will enable both land and amphibious mobility without unyielding stiffness and survivability capabilities. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=land%20vehicle" title="land vehicle">land vehicle</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=composite" title=" composite"> composite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=light-weight%20design" title=" light-weight design"> light-weight design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=armored%20vehicle" title=" armored vehicle"> armored vehicle</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/34841/utilization-of-composite-components-for-land-vehicle-systems-a-review" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/34841.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">464</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7429</span> Constitutive Role of Light in Christian Sacred Architecture</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sokol%20Gojnik">Sokol Gojnik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zorana%3B%20Gojnik"> Zorana; Gojnik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Igor"> Igor </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Light is the central theme of sacred architecture of all religions and so of Christianity. Alccofine is a mineral admixture which contains high glass content obtained through the process of controlled granulation. This is finer than cement which carries its own pozzolanic property. Therefore, cement could be replaced by alccofine as 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50%, 55%, 60%, 65%, and 70% to enhance the strength and durability properties of concrete. High range water reducing admixtures (HRWA) were used in these mixes which were dosed up to 1.5% weight of the total cementitious content (alccofine &amp; cement). It also develops the weaker transition zone into more impermeable layer. Specimens were subjected in both the accelerated curing method as well as conventional curing method. Experimental results were compared and reported, in that the maximum compressive strength of 32.6 MPa was achieved on 28th day with 30% replacement level in a density of 2200 kg/m3 to a conventional curing, while in the accelerated curing, maximum compressive strength was achieved at 40% replacement level. Rapid chloride penetration test (RCPT) output results for the conventional curing method at 0% and 70% give 3296.7 and 545.6 coulombs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alccofine" title="Alccofine">Alccofine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=compressive%20strength" title=" compressive strength"> compressive strength</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=RCPT" title=" RCPT"> RCPT</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wood%20ash%20pellets" title=" wood ash pellets"> wood ash pellets</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/78324/influence-of-alccofine-on-semi-light-weight-concrete-under-accelerated-curing-and-conventional-curing-regimes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/78324.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">182</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7425</span> From Theory to Practice: Harnessing Mathematical and Statistical Sciences in Data Analytics</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zahid%20Ullah">Zahid Ullah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Atlas%20Khan"> Atlas Khan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The rapid growth of data in diverse domains has created an urgent need for effective utilization of mathematical and statistical sciences in data analytics. The use of light goes back to thousand years B.C. the light in the legacy of ancient Iranian wisdom has been used in Mithraism, Zurvanism, Zoroastrianism and Manichaean religion and spirituality has been emanated in the world through the light. Ontology and angelology and the sacredness of fire in Zoroastrianism have been interpreted according to the concept of light. The ruling atmosphere on mazdaism world is the world which is full of light and angels, and light is one of the basis of worldview in ancient Iranian mysticism, especially Zoroastrianism and Manichaean, continued widely in Islamic mysticism, and also it always provokes discussions among scholars and mystics especially Iranian mystics. Light and fire are used as the signs and symbols of God's existence, The Shining lights emanated from the sacred essence of God, knowledge, and mysticism, love, discovering the wisdom and a way to God. Rumi speaks eloquently about light in Masnavi, and by using the light; he could render his readers the fundamental mystic subjects such as the true existence of God, the verity of prophets and saints, intuition of God, spiritual states of union with God and abiding in God, which are the most complicated mystic terms. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=zoroastrianism" title="zoroastrianism">zoroastrianism</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=myticims" title=" myticims"> myticims</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Masnavi" title=" Masnavi"> Masnavi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=light" title=" light"> light</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/35928/a-study-of-light-in-zoroastrianism-and-ancient-iranian-traditions-a-case-of-mathnavi" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/35928.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">298</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7423</span> The Combined Influences of Salinity, Light and Nitrogen Limitation on the Growth and Biochemical Composition of Nannochloropsis sp. and Tetraselmis sp., Isolated from Penang National Park Coastal Waters, Malaysia </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20M.%20Alsull">Mohamed M. However, yield is not significantly reduced in low-light tolerant rice varieties. The work, therefore, planned for comparative transcriptome profiling under low light stress to decipher the genes involved and molecular mechanism of low light tolerance in rice. At the active tillering stage, 50% low light exposure for one day, three days, and five days were given to Swarnaprabha (low light tolerant) and IR8 (low light sensitive) rice varieties. Illumina (HiSeq) platform was used for transcriptome sequencing. A total of 6,652 and 12,042 genes were differentially expressed due to low light intensity in Swarnaprabha and IR8, respectively, as compared to control. CAB, LRP, SBPase, MT15, TF PCL1, and Photosystem I & II complex related gene expressions were mostly increased in Swarnaprabha upon the longer duration of low light exposure, which was not found in IR8 as compared to control. Their expressions were validated by qRT-PCR. The overall study suggested that the maintenance of grain yield in the tolerant variety under low light might be the result of accelerated expression of the genes, which enable the plant to keep the photosynthetic processes moving at the same pace even under low light. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rice" title="rice">rice</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=low%20light" title=" low light"> low light</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=photosynthesis" title=" photosynthesis"> photosynthesis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=yield" title=" yield"> yield</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/141335/comparative-transcriptome-profiling-of-low-light-tolerant-and-sensitive-rice-varieties-induced-by-low-light-stress-at-active-tillering-stage" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/141335.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">195</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7421</span> Effects of Bed Type, Corm Weight and Lifting Time on Quantitative and Qualitative Criteria of Saffron (Crocus sativus L.)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=A.%20Mollafilabi">A. Treatments were two corm weights (8-10, 10 < g), two planting beds (stone wool and peat moss) and five levels of lifting time (mi-June, early July, mid-July, early August and mid-August). No. of corms were 457 corms.m-2 and for 40 days and were stored for 90 days in incubation, 85% relative humidity and 25°C temperature in the darkness. Then, saffron corms were transferred to growth chamber with 17 °C in 8 hours light and 16 hours darkness. Characteristics were number of flower, fresh weight of flower, dry weight of flower, fresh and dry weight of stigma, fresh and dry weight of style, fresh and dry weight of stigma+style and Picrocrocin, Safronal and Crocin contents of saffron were measured. Results showed that the corm weight, bed type and time of corm lifting had significant effects on economical yield of saffron such as picked flowers, dry weight of stigma and fresh weight of flowers. The highest saffron economical yield was obtained in interaction of corm weight, 10 g, peat moss and lifting time in mid-June as much as 5.2 g.m-2. This yield is 11 fold of average yield of Iranian farms. Picrocrocin, Safranal and Crocin contents was graded as excellent thread in peat moss under controlled conditions compared with ISO Standard of 203. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=corm%20density" title="corm density">corm density</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dry%20stigma" title=" dry stigma"> dry stigma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=safranal-flowering" title=" safranal-flowering"> safranal-flowering</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=yield%20saffron" title=" yield saffron"> yield saffron</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40007/effects-of-bed-type-corm-weight-and-lifting-time-on-quantitative-and-qualitative-criteria-of-saffron-crocus-sativus-l" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40007.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">333</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7420</span> Weight Comparison of Oil and Dry Type Distribution Transformers</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Murat%20Toren">Murat Toren</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehmet%20%C3%87elebi"> Mehmet Çelebi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Reducing the weight of transformers while providing good performance, cost reduction and increased efficiency is important. Weight is one of the most significant factors in all electrical machines, and as such, many transformer design parameters are related to weight calculations. This study presents a comparison of the weight of oil type transformers and dry type transformer weight. Oil type transformers are mainly used in industry; however, dry type transformers are becoming more widespread in recent years. MATLAB is typically used for designing transformers and design parameters (rated voltages, core loss, etc.) along with design in ANSYS Maxwell. Similar to other studies, this study presented that the dry type transformer option is limited. Moreover, the commonly-used 50 kVA distribution transformers in the industry are oil type and dry type transformers are designed and considered in terms of weight. Currently, the preference for low-cost oil-type transformers would change if costs for dry-type transformer were more competitive. The aim of this study was to compare the weight of transformers, which is a substantial cost factor, and to provide an evaluation about increasing the use of dry type transformers. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=weight" title="weight">weight</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optimization" title=" optimization"> optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=oil-type%20transformers" title=" oil-type transformers"> oil-type transformers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dry-type%20transformers" title=" dry-type transformers"> dry-type transformers</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/49059/weight-comparison-of-oil-and-dry-type-distribution-transformers" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/49059.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">354</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7419</span> Synthesis and Characterization of Nano-Alumina Using Neem Oil as the Template for Efficient Hydrogen Generation via Photo-Hydrolysis of Sodium Borohydride</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dina%20M.%20Abd%20El-Aty">Dina M. The photoreaction was produced under visible light and nano-alumina as a catalyst. In this study, we use more economical and friendly environmental oil as a template to produce a nano-catalyst. The prepared catalyst was characterized by X-Ray diffraction, N2-adsorption-desorption, Fourier Transforms Infrared, Scanning Electron microscope and X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy. Different parameters such as catalyst weight, NaBH4 weight and time of irradiation were studied to obtain a highly efficient photo-hydrolysis reaction. The reaction is pseudo-first order and the hydrogen production rate was determined as 1500 ml min-1 g-1 at the optimum conditions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
