Missing assignments do not necessarily exclude a journal from a category. <h2 id='Data Journal'>Data Journal</h2>Data journals are scientific journals with articles that specialize in the detailed description of research data without interpreting it. They offer comprehensive methodological information that facilitates the subsequent use of the data. The described data are stored in external repositories and are linked to the articles, which facilitates access and use of the data. There are pure data journals and mixed data journals. Publication organs committed to the Diamond idea are usually publicly or academically funded. They are financed through various contribution models, but often through institutional budgets and project financing. Sponsoring institutions can be, for example, universities, colleges, foundations, non-university institutions, academies, archives, funding bodies and specialist societies.
