alt="old-papers-stacked" width="256" height="192">An Introduction to Preservation</h2> <h4>A ready-to-use curriculum designed for Masters of Library Science Programs</h4> <p>The Preservation Education Curriculum is a semester-long “Introduction to Preservation” course. The curriculum, divided into 13 three-hour classes, includes lesson plans; suggested readings and resources; suggested class activities, homework, and term projects; and an extensive image library. The curriculum, designed for adjuncts and existing faculty at MLS programs, allows instructors to expand or condense the classes to accommodate teaching strengths and incorporate guest speakers and field trips.</p> <p>Development of this course was funded by an Institute of Museum and Library Services “Librarians for the 21st Century” grant. The content for the three-year project, which began in January 2005, was developed by an advisory committee composed of leaders in the field of preservation. The Northeast Document Conservation Center, in partnership with the Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science, is proud to offer this curriculum to promote preservation as a valued
