height="120">&nbsp;</a></div></div></div><p><strong>COMMUNITY GARDEN</strong></p><p>The Department of Recreation and Parks has dedicated a portion of the Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center as a community garden. City residents who would like to raise their own fruit and vegetables can rent a 10-foot by 20-foot space for a nominal annual charge. For more information about the community garden, please call Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center Maintenance at (818) 883-6641.</p><p><strong>THE GARDENS</strong></p><p>The historic Orcutt Residence is surrounded by 24-acres of gardens and a citrus orchard. The gardens include heritage oaks trees, wandering garden paths, formal flower beds, and a variety of interesting specimen trees, exotic shrubs, and flowering plants. There are several significant oak trees on the property; one of the largest is more that 33' in circumference and is estimated to be more than 700 years old. This stand of oaks was commemorated with a plaque on October 2, 1948, by the San Fernando Valley Historical Society.</p><p><strong>GENERAL INFORMATION</strong></p><p>Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center is open daily Sunrise to Sunset, and is located in the west San Fernando Valley, at 23600 Roscoe Boulevard, Canoga Park, CA 91304, accessible from both the 118/Simi Valley and the 134/Ventura Freeways.</p><p><strong>FRUIT PICKING</strong></p><p>Orcutt Ranch opens its orchards to the public one weekend a year in July. Ripe Valencia Oranges and White Grapefruit can be picked by hand. The patio areas provide picturesque backdrops and dappled shade for your reception or party. property 1917. The 3,060-square-foot residence, with its Spanish Colonial Revival Style and Mission Revival Style architecture, was completed in approximately 1926. It features glazed tiles from Mexico and carved mahogany and walnut from the Philippines. Visitors are surprised to find that the design of the home prominently incorporates bas-relief Swastika architectural decoration. The symbol chosen due to its connection with Native American traditions, and well before the Nazis turned it into a symbol of anti-Semitism. The historic property features not only the Spanish-style adobe residence with an abundance of gorgeous, architectural features but extensive gardens including a seasonal rose garden, a large variety loading="lazy"> </a></div></div></div><p><strong>COMMUNITY GARDEN</strong></p><p>The Department of Recreation and Parks has dedicated a portion of the Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center as a community garden. City residents who would like to raise their own fruit and vegetables can rent a 10-foot by 20-foot space for a nominal annual charge. For more information about the community garden, please call Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center Maintenance at (818) 883-6641.</p><p><strong>THE GARDENS</strong></p><p>The historic Orcutt Residence is surrounded by 24-acres of gardens and a citrus orchard. The gardens include heritage oaks trees, wandering garden paths, formal flower beds, and a variety of interesting specimen trees, exotic shrubs, and flowering plants. There are several significant oak trees on the property; one of the largest is more that 33' in circumference and is estimated to be more than 700 years old. This stand of oaks was commemorated with a plaque on October 2, 1948, by the San Fernando Valley Historical Society.</p><p><strong>GENERAL INFORMATION</strong></p><p>Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center is open daily Sunrise to Sunset, and is located in the west San Fernando Valley, at 23600 Roscoe Boulevard, Canoga Park, CA 91304, accessible from both the 118/Simi Valley and the 134/Ventura Freeways.</p><p><strong>FRUIT PICKING</strong></p><p>Orcutt Ranch opens its orchards to the public one weekend a year in July. Ripe Valencia Oranges and White Grapefruit can be picked by hand. The patio areas provide picturesque backdrops and dappled shade for your reception or party.
