You still get toxicity... just not in the same way you would expect. /lgbt/ is actually mostly composed of LGBT people, but it caters to a specific demographic, being the type who believe other LGBT spaces online are too "hugboxy". This leads to lots of self-hate, judgement, and threads full of people tearing themselves and others down. Most of the board is trans, leading to its in-board nickname of /tttt/ (Trans, trans, trans, and more trans). Due to trans people's sheer presence on it, The LGB portion of the board have created specific general threads in an effort to centralize discussions. The transphobic slur tranny is used quite frequently as both an insult and a term of endearment, along with words like tranner and troon. Surprisingly for 4chan, a good portion of the users are leftists, albeit leftists of the edgelord kind, even if most of the board still leans right.
