the width<MH7341> <i>was</i> fifty<MH2572> cubits<MH520>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>Opposite<MH5048> the twenty<MH6242> <i>cubits</i> which<MH834> <i>belonged</i> to the inner<MH6442> courtyard<MH2691a>, and opposite<MH5048> the stone<MH7531b> pavement<MH7531b> which<MH834> <i>belonged</i> to the outer<MH2435> courtyard<MH2691a>, <i>was</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>gallery<MH863b> corresponding<MH413, 6440> to <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>gallery<MH863b> in three<MH7992> <i>stories.</i> <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>In front<MH6440> of the chambers<MH3957> <i>was</i> an inner<MH6442> passage<MH4109> ten<MH6235> cubits<MH520> wide<MH7341>, a way<MH1870> of one<MH259> <i>hundred</i> cubits<MH520>; and their openings<MH6607> <i>were</i> on the north<MH6828>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Now the upper<MH5945a> chambers<MH3957> <i>were</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>smaller<MH7114a> because<MH3588> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>galleries<MH863b> took<MH398> more<MH4480> <i>space</i> away<MH398> from them than<MH4480> from the lower<MH8481> and middle<MH8484> ones<MH8484> in the building<MH1146>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>For they <i>were</i> in<MH8027> three<MH8027> <i>stories</i> and had<MH369> no<MH369> pillars<MH5982> like the pillars<MH5982> of the courtyards<MH2691a>; for<MH5921> that<MH5921, 3651> reason<MH5921, 3651> <i>the upper chambers</i> were <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>set<MH680> back<MH680> from the ground<MH776> <i>upward,</i> more<MH4480> than<MH4480> the lower<MH8481> and middle<MH8484> ones. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>As for the outer<MH2351> wall<MH1447> by the side<MH5980> of the chambers<MH3957>, toward<MH1870> the outer<MH2435> courtyard<MH2691a> facing<MH6440> the chambers<MH3957>, its length<MH753> <i>was</i> fifty<MH2572> cubits<MH520>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>For the length<MH753> of the chambers<MH3957> which<MH834> <i>were</i> in the outer<MH2435> courtyard<MH2691a> <i>was</i> fifty<MH2572> cubits<MH520>; and behold<MH2009>, <i>the length of those</i> facing<MH6440> the main<MH1964> room<MH1964> <i>was</i> a hundred<MH3967> cubits<MH520>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And below<MH4480> these<MH428> chambers<MH3957> <i>was</i> the entrance<MH3996> on the east<MH6921> side<MH6921>, as one enters<MH935> them from the outer<MH2435> courtyard<MH2691a>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>In the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>thickness<MH7341> of the wall<MH1447> of the courtyard<MH2691a> toward<MH1870> the east<MH6921>, facing<MH413, 6440> the separate<MH1508> area<MH1508> and facing<MH413, 6440> the building<MH1146>, <i>there were</i> chambers<MH3957>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And the way<MH1870> in front<MH6440> of them <i>was</i> like the appearance<MH4758> of the chambers<MH3957> which<MH834> <i>were</i> on the north<MH6828>; according to their length<MH753>, so<MH3651> was their width<MH7341>, and all<MH3605> their exits<MH4161> <i>were</i> according to their building<MH4941> plans<MH4941> and openings<MH6607>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Corresponding to the openings<MH6607> of the chambers<MH3957> which<MH834> were toward<MH1870> the south<MH1864> was an opening<MH6607> at the head<MH7218> of the way<MH1870>, the way<MH1870> in front<MH6440> of the wall<MH1448> toward<MH1870> the east<MH6921>, as one enters<MH935> them. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Then he said<MH559> to me, “The north<MH6828> chambers<MH3957> <i>and</i> the south<MH1864> chambers<MH3957>, which<MH834> are opposite<MH413, 6440> the separate<MH1508> area<MH1508>, they are the holy<MH6944> chambers<MH3957> where<MH834, 8033> the priests<MH3548> who<MH834> are near<MH7138> to the LORD<MH3068> shall eat<MH398> the most<MH6944> holy<MH6944> things<MH6944>. There<MH8033> they shall set<MH5117> the most<MH6944> holy<MH6944> things<MH6944>, the grain offering<MH4503>, the sin<MH2403b> offering<MH2403b>, and the guilt<MH817> offering<MH817>; for the place<MH4725> is holy<MH6918>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/42-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>When the priests<MH3548> enter<MH935>, they shall not go<MH3318> out<MH3318> into the outer<MH2435> courtyard<MH2691a> from the sanctuary<MH6944> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>without laying<MH5117> their garments<MH899b> there<MH8033> in which<MH834> they minister<MH8334>, for they are holy<MH6944>.
