Information Technology plays a fundamental role in improving the performance and competitiveness of any organisation in the digital world. IT in Industry recognises that contributions from both academia and industry are paramount to the advancement of this field.</p><p>The journal focuses on areas where:</p> <ul> <li>researchers and practitioners meet,</li> <li>academia and industry meet, and</li> <li>theoretical knowledge and practical applications meet.</li> </ul> <p>In particular, IT in Industry is interested in the following:</p> <ul> <li>R&amp;D with potential industrial, commercial or social applications,</li> <li>IT applications in industry,</li> <li>IT innovations from industry, and</li> <li>IT technologies for the future. </li> </ul> <p>IT in Industry publishes original research articles, review articles, and extended versions of conference papers. Articles resulting from research of both theoretical and/or practical natures performed by academics and/or industry practitioners are welcome. In the case of extended conference papers, authors should cite the proceedings of the conference. Articles will be accepted based on originality, significance, technical quality, clarity, and relevance to the journal. There is no page limit for peer-reviewed articles. These should be approximately 2,500 to 3,500 words or up to 3 pages in length, with appropriate citations. They may be peer-reviewed, or reviewed only by the Editors, and will be accepted based on originality, significance, technical quality, clarity, and relevance to the journal. Short Articles will generally be published more quickly than peer-reviewed full articles. Authors submitting articles for publication guarantee that the work is not an infringement of any existing copyright and will indemnify the publisher against any breach of such warranty.</p> <p>Submitted articles will be subject to a rigorous but efficient peer review process. For peer-reviewed full articles, we aim for a review time within 40 working days of submission. For short articles, we will aim for a review time within 20 working days.</p> <p>Articles will be accepted based on a number of criteria, including originality, significance, technical quality, clarity and presentation, references to related work, validity of results, and relevance to the journal. The review process is designed to help authors improve their work through constructive feedback and suggestions.</p></p> <div class="separator">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="publicationFrequency"><h3>Publication Frequency</h3> <p>IT in Industry publishes articles on a continuous basis; accepted papers are published and made available online as soon as they are ready. Published articles are then collated into archival issues, each with its own Table of Contents. There is no limit on the number of articles in an issue. All papers are accepted based on the criteria set out in the Section Policies.</p> <div class="separator">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="openAccessPolicy"><h3>Open Access Policy</h3> <p>IT in Industry provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.</p> <div class="separator">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="archiving"><h3>Archiving</h3> <p>IT in Industry utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. <a href="http://lockss.org/">More...</a></p> <div class="separator">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="custom-0"><h3>Self-Archiving Policy</h3> <p><p>Self-archiving, also called the "green" road to open access, refers to the deposit a digital copy of a published article by the author in a publicly accessible website. Self-archiving helps increase visibility, accessibility, and hence the citation impact of a published article. IT in Industry promotes open access, and therefore, endorses self-archiving.</p> <p>Authors retain the <a href="submissions.html#copyrightNotice">copyright</a> of articles published in IT in Industry. Authors are allowed to self-archive their published papers in institutional repositories and/or other websites. In all cases, authors should cite the original IT in Industry articles.</p></p> <div class="separator">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="custom-1"><h3>Republishing Policy</h3> <p><p>Authors are allowed to republish their IT in Industry articles, in other scholarly journals, as book chapters, or in any other medium. However authors should be aware that the practice of duplicate publication is generally considered scientific misconduct, although there is no <a href="submissions.html#copyrightNotice">copyright</a> issue.</p><p>IT in Industry does not republish articles that have already been published in other scholarly journals, magazines, or books.</p><p>IT in Industry will consider the publication of extended versions of conference papers that have been previously published in conference proceedings, subject to peer-review. In all cases, authors should cite the orignal articles.</p><p>IT in Industry will also consider the publication of selected conference papers in related areas, as special issues. Conference chairs are encouraged to contact the <a href="mailto:itii_journal@it-in-industry.com">Managing Editor</a> to discuss.</p></p> <div class="separator">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="custom-2"><h3>Editorial Board Terms of Reference</h3> <p><p>The Editorial Board is a group of outstanding academics or industry practitioners who are experts in their own areas. All board members are volunteers appointed on 3 year, renewable terms. The Board is committed to ensure:</p><ul><li>editorial integrity and professionalism,</li><li>journal independence,</li><li>open access policies are followed,</li><li>areas and topics covered are continuously brought up-to-date, and</li><li>papers published are of the highest standard and quality.</li></ul>Editorial Board members will endeavour to:<br /><ul><li>solicit manuscripts from colleagues or experts in areas of interest to IT in Industry,</li><li>select peer-reviewers for submitted manuscripts,</li><li>ensure timely review and make decisions on revisions and acceptance of manuscripts,</li><li>recommend and nominate experts to become editors or reviewers,</li><li>recommend conference organisers in related areas to publish selected/extended papers as special issues,</li><li>assist to secure ongoing funding, and</li><li>publish at least one article in IT in Industry per term of service on board.</li></ul><p>IT in Industry welcomes nominations and self-nominations by experts in related areas. Interested individuals should send expressions of interest to the <a href="mailto:itii_journal@it-in-industry.com">Managing Editor</a> with a resume, list of publications, and areas of expertise.</p></p> <div class="separator">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="custom-3"><h3>Peer-Review Panel Terms of Reference</h3> <p><p>Peer-reviewers are experienced researchers with proven record of publications in subscription and/or open access journals. Reviewers are volunteers appointed on 2 year, renewable terms. Reviewers are committed to:</p><ul><li>ensure editorial integrity and professionlism,</li><li>ensure relevance and quality of submitted manuscripts,</li><li>provide honest and constructive feedback and suggestions according to review guidelines and criteria,</li><li>review manuscripts in timely manner.</li></ul> <p>Reviewers should endeavour to review at least two articles per year, and publish at least one article per term. IT in Industry promotes active reviewers who make positive contributions to the journal to the editor board.</p><p>IT in Industry welcomes nominations and self-nominations to join our team of reviewers. Interested individuals should send expressions of interest to the <a href="mailto:itii_journal@it-in-industry.com">Managing Editor</a> with a resume, list of publications, and areas of expertise.</p></p> <div class="separator">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="custom-5"><h3>Publication Ethics</h3> <p>ITII is committed to peer review integrity and practices the highest standards of ethical publishing. ITII publish original research papers that has not been published nor under review elsewhere. ITII publication ethics encourages integrity in research and peer review process as outlined below and we prohibit any malpractices regarding publication. ITII uses Docloc tool to verify the originality of every submitted manuscript. ITII provide high quality and flexible information solutions to researchers.</p> <div><h4>Ethical Guidelines for Authors</h4> <p><b>Fabrication/Falsification of data</b> - Making up data or results and recording or reporting them is fabrication of data. Falsification of data is manipulating research materials, omitting/deletion/suppression of conflicting data without justification and this would cause mistrust and disgrace to scientific community.</p> <p><b>Plagiarism</b> - Using another person鈥檚 ideas, language, graphs, pictures, results and experiments without giving credit to them. Without citing the source, copying even a single sentence from your own or another person鈥檚 research paper leaded to plagiarism.</p> <p><b>Unacceptable author contribution</b> - Including authors who have not contributed to the research in the manuscript and excluding authors who have contributed to the research is unacceptable author contribution.</p> <p><b>Citation Manipulation</b> - Citing irrelevant articles that don鈥檛 contribute to content of manuscript is a kind of scientific misconduct.</p> <p><b>Concurrent submissions</b> - It is submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time. It is a waste of time of editors and peer reviewers, and can also damage the reputation of journals if published in more than place</p> <p><b>Redundant publications</b> - It primarily refers to publishing the same material/experiments more than once. Accountability- All authors whose names appear on the manuscript are equally held accountable for the content of a submitted manuscript or published paper.</p> <div><h4>Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers</h4> <p>ITII is peer reviewed by two or three reviewers and the editor-in-chief makes the final decision. It is expected that Editors and reviewers during the review process should be principled, prompt, act with confidence, contribution to the final decision, acknowledge source, and stick to objectives and guidelines mentioned below</p> <ul> <li>Reviewers should understand that the peer review process is confidential. The review process should not be shared with anyone outside the peer review process.</li> <li>Reviewers clearly understand that review process should be unbiased and author deserves full credit for their work.</li> <li>Reviewers should submit a comprehensive and substantial peer review report in a timely manner. If there is delay, it should be communicated to the editor.</li> <li>Reviewers must communicate to the Editor-in Chief if the papers are plagiarized or published elsewhere.</li> </ul> <div><h4>Ethical Guidelines for Editors-in-Chief/Editorial Board Member</h4> <p>The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision to publish the manuscript in the journal based on peer-reviewers comments. It is expected that Editors during the review process should be principled, prompt, act with confidence, contribution to the final decision, acknowledge source, and stick to objectives and guidelines mentioned below</p> <ul> <li> Editors should understand that the peer review process is confidential. The review process should not be shared with anyone outside the peer review process.</li> <li>Editors clearly understand that review process should be unbiased and author deserves full credit for their work.</li> <li>Editor-in-Chief should discuss all matter regarding publication with the Editorial board members before making a final decision.</li> <li>Editors should automatically reject manuscript that are inappropriate or out of scope of the journal.</li> <li>Editors must investigate if they receive information that a manuscript is plagiarized, under consideration elsewhere or has already been published. If there is evidence that the manuscript has been plagiarized, under consideration elsewhere or has already been published, then the Editor-in-Chief should issue an erratum</li> </ul> <div><h4>Prohibited Author鈥檚 List (PAL)</h4> <p>If there is a violation of any of the above said policies of ITII journal, the manuscript will be rejected or removed. The author will be entered in the PAL database and prohibited to contribute for the next 3 years.</p> <div class="separator">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="custom-4"><h3>Special or Themed Issues and Guest Editors Policy</h3> <p><p>IT in Industry sponsors conferences, seminars, or workshops in related areas on a case by case basis. IT in Industry may invite conference organisers or chairs to serve as guest editors for special or themed issues publishing selected papers from the conference proceedings. Interested parties are encouraged to contact the <a href="mailto:itii_journal@it-in-industry.com">Managing Editor</a> with proposals.</p><p>IT in Industry supports researchers to publish special or themed issues in their areas of expertise. IT in Industry welcomes experts from academia and industry to propose special themes and serve as guest editors. Experts should contact the <a href="mailto:itii_journal@it-in-industry.com">Managing Editor</a> with proposals.</p><p>The names of the guest editor(s) and editorial board members for a special or themed issue will be published in that issue. If it is a special issue of a conference proceedings, the details of the conference and the proceedings papers will be cited.</p><p>The Editorial Board Terms of Reference applies to guest editors with the exception of the 3 year renewable terms.
