style="text-align: justify;">The government of Odisha has been giving emphasis on promoting educational attainment among the Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste Children on a sustained basis. In the process, it has created a residential mode of education for the ST & SC Children running about 1700 schools. From the year 2000 onwards the ST/SC Development Department laid emphasis on Higher Secondary Level Schools to ensure that residential mode of education is also provided to these categories of children beyond High School level. Today, there are 60 Higher Secondary Schools in the State in remote tribal pockets extending higher secondary level courses on residential mode. Many more schools at this level are in the process of coming up under the fold of ST/SC Department administrative control.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">These institutions are showing better results compared to the State average results, However, to ensure more effective functioning of these institutions and to enhance the quality of education and better academic attainment among the students, an effort was made to establish the Academic Performance Monitoring Cell (APMC) in SCSTRTI for bringing in improvement in the functioning of these institutions. In the first year, from September onwards till now, the APMC has taken initiatives to strengthen the system of +2 education by way of</p> <ol style="list-style-type: lower-alpha;"> <li style="text-align: justify;">Formulating a lesson plan for each subject to have uniformity in teaching and timely completion of courses in all the educational institutions under it;</li> <li style="text-align: justify;">Formulation of lesson note and compilation of a question bank in each subject with ideal answers for each subject thereby providing teaching support to teachers;</li> <li style="text-align: justify;">For up-gradation of teaching skills& classroom transactions capacity building training programs for all the Junior lectures and Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) of all the educational institutions under were organized;</li> <li style="text-align: justify;">For monitoring the academic performance of the Students/Teachers/Institutions and to have required information at fingertips a Monitoring System has been kept in place.</li> </ol> <p style="text-align: justify;">The Academic Performance Monitoring Cell (APMC) is going for Digital Documentation in all subjects of +2 Science and +2 Commerce streams for (Class-XI and Class-XII classes) through video recording covering the entire CHSE Syllabi 2020-22. This will help the students of both the classes in the COVID-19 epidemic situation, as normal classes are suspended since March 2020. The academic session of 2020-22 has been very much affected and students have suffered a lot academically.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Hence, Government in ST & SC Development Department has decided and directed SCSTRTI to make recordings of different subjects in Science & Commerce Streams. As desired the work shall be accomplished through APMC, in consultation with experts in different subjects. Total sessions in each subject class-wise have been decided for the recording of contents.
