This may be in the form of tips, example scenarios, or case studies that may help you in implementing your net zero project.</aside> <aside class="info"><b>Additional Information</b> contains information that may help in consistent understanding of the contents of the net zero rating schemes, which may include forms, templates, procedures, instructions, guidance notes, additional resources or references. </aside> <aside class="warning"><b>Warning</b> provides precautionary information that might need attention.</aside> <aside class="danger"><b>Danger</b> provides alerts for requirements, policies, or potential negative actions that projects must avoid.</aside> <h2 id='navigating-the-em-user-guide-em-requirement-levels'>Requirement levels</h2> <p>The requirements under the <em>Advancing Net Zero Rating Schemes</em> and in the <em>User Guides</em> use the following auxiliary verbs to ensure clarity and consistency in writing and interpreting the requirements:</p> <table><thead> <tr> <th>Provisions using:</th> <th>refers to:</th> </tr> </thead><tbody> <tr> <td><strong>Must</strong></td> <td>absolute requirements. <code>Must</code> and <code>shall</code> are equivalent in the use of these documents.</td> </tr> <tr> <td><strong>Must not</strong></td> <td>absolute prohibitions. <code>Must not</code> and <code>shall not</code> are equivalent in the use of these documents.</td> </tr> <tr> <td><strong>Should</strong></td> <td><p>highly recommended provisions. Highly recommended provisions were identified as the most appropriate requirements for a credit.</p> <p>If you will not be implementing these provisions, you must have a clear explanation why it is not applicable for your project, and a reasonable alternative to address these requirements.</p></td> </tr> <tr> <td><strong>Should not</strong></td> <td><p>discouraged provisions. These provisions are not recommended, however, it may be acceptable or valid within certain conditions.</p><p>You must ensure that you have understood the full implication of these provisions before implementing these requirements.</p></td> </tr> <tr> <td><strong>May</strong></td> <td>optional provisions or information.</td> </tr> </tbody></table> <h1 id='about-anz-ph'>About ANZ/PH</h1> <p class="lead"><b>Advancing Net Zero Philippines (ANZ/PH)</b> is a program of the Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC) to transform the design, construction and operations of projects towards the net zero goal.</p> <p>ANZ/PH aims to transform the built environment by reducing resource consumption and emissions, and shifting towards more sustainable sources to keep projects&#39; impacts at neutral or even provide positive benefits.</p> <p>ANZ/PH is aligned with the global campaign of the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) to accelerate the uptake of net zero carbon buildings to 100% by 2050.</p> <p>As part of program, rating schemes, tools and documents are being developed to support the development and implementation of net zero projects, including the certification of net zero projects.</p> <h2 id='about-anz-ph-how-can-you-contribute-to-anz-ph'>How can you contribute to ANZ/PH?</h2><h3 id='about-anz-ph-how-can-you-contribute-to-anz-ph-provide-your-comments'>Provide your comments</h3> <p>We welcome your comments and insight on the ANZ/PH Program. Provide your comments by submitting your recommendations through the following procedures, including:</p> <ol> <li>Access the <em><a href="http://docs.anzph.org/forms/comment">Form – Comment</a></em>.</li> <li>Provide your full name, position or designation, and the organization you are representing;</li> <li>Clearly state your issue a specific section or credit: <ul> <li>State the specific section or credit you would like to improve;</li> <li>Provide a clear statement summarizing your issue; and</li> <li>Provide a brief discussion on the issue;</li> </ul></li> <li>Clearly state your recommendation to improve the section or credit; <ul> <li>Provide the draft text for the revision of the section or credit;</li> <li>Use plain language principles; and</li> <li>Provide a brief discussion on the recommendation;</li> </ul></li> <li>Submit your issue and recommendation.</li> </ol> <p>Your comments will be received and logged by the ANZ/PH Program Secretariat.</p> <h3 id='about-anz-ph-how-can-you-contribute-to-anz-ph-host-our-meetings'>Host our meetings</h3> <p>You can become a sponsor of the development of the tools under the ANZ/PH by providing support for meetings, workshops, and conferences. One of the challenges in the development of ANZ/PH is in identifying baselines and performance targets for resource consumption, and ensuring the tool is in line with current best practices in the industry.</p> <p>We understand that there may be limitations when you share your proprietary information to the PHILGBC. This is why we commit to the proper handling, use, and storage of confidential information you share with the PHILGBC.</p> <aside class="info"><p>For more information on how you can be part of the R&D and how we manage confidential information, contact the ANZ/PH Program Secretariat through <a href="mailto:ANZPH@philgbc.org">ANZPH@philgbc.org</a> if you are submitting datasets and case studies for ANZ/PH. </p></aside> <h1 id='certification'>Certification</h1><h2 id='certification-what-is-advancing-net-zero-philippines-certification'>What is Advancing Net Zero Philippines Certification?</h2> <p class="lead">Advancing Net Zero Philippines Certification is the formal assessment, rating, and certification process for projects of the ANZ/PH Program. It is conducted in a third-party assessment process to ensure a credible, independent, impartial, and objective assessment, rating, and certification of projects under the ANZ/PH.</p> <p>Only projects that complete the formal process, complies with all requirements, and receives at least the minimum rating for certification may claim as an Advancing Net Zero certified project.</p> <aside class="warning">Projects are only allowed to register under the latest version of the <i>Advancing Net Zero Rating Schemes</i> for certification. To ensure that your project is assessed under your preferred version, register your project while the version is still active. See <a href="#certification-how-can-you-get-you-project-certified">How do you register for Net Zero Certification.</a></aside> <h2 id='certification-who-will-certify-your-project'>Who will certify your project?</h2> <p>The PHILGBC will certify the project based on the outcomes from the assessments during the Net Zero Certification process.</p> <p>The PHILGBC or its authorized assessment body will facilitate and conduct the assessment, rating, and certification process. The PHILGBC builds trust and confidence in the system by managing and addressing conflicts of interests between the project, the project team, and the assessment team assigned for the project.</p> <h2 id='certification-how-can-you-get-you-project-certified'>How can you get you project certified?</h2> <p>To get certified as an Advancing Net Zero project under the ANZ/PH Program, you must:</p> <ol> <li><a href="#certification-how-do-you-register-for-advancing-net-zero-philippines-certification">Register your project.</a></li> <li>Successfully complete the assessment and certification process using an <em>Advancing Net Zero Rating Scheme</em>.</li> </ol> <p>The project must complete the Advancing Net Zero Philippines Certification process, comply with all minimum system requirements, and achieve the minimum rating for certification.</p> <blockquote> <h6>Addenda</h6> <p><h7>26 September 2022, v1.1.0</h7></p> <p>Added information on the use of active rating schemes.</p> </blockquote> <aside class="info"><p>The project must <b>complete the certification process while the version of the rating scheme is active</b>. Projects may not be certified under obsolete rating schemes.</p><p><b>Active rating schemes</b> that may be used for certification are <b>the current version and the previous major version</b>.</p></aside> <h2 id='certification-how-do-you-register-for-advancing-net-zero-philippines-certification'>How do you register for Advancing Net Zero Philippines Certification?</h2> <p>The project owner must review the eligibility of the project for the applicable Net Zero Rating Scheme, and compliance with the <a href="#minimum-system-requirements">Minimum System Requirements</a>.</p> <p>To register a project for Advancing Net Zero Philippines Certification, the project owner must:</p> <ol> <li>Access the <em><a href="https://docs.anzph.org/forms/registration">Form – ANZ/PH Registration</a></em>;</li> <li>Accomplish the <em><a href="https://docs.anzph.org/forms/registration">Form – ANZ/PH Registration</a></em> and prepare the documents for the minimum system requirements; and</li> <li>Submit the requirements through e-mail to <a href="mailto:ANZPH@philgbc.org">ANZPH@philgbc.org</a>.</li> </ol> <p>The PHILGBC will prepare and submit a <em>Advancing Net Zero Philippines Certification Proposal</em> within <strong>seven (7) working days</strong> from the receipt of your complete requirements.</p> <p>Once the project owner receives the proposal, the project owner must:</p> <ol> <li>Sign the proposal and return a copy to the PHILGBC; and</li> <li>Pay the registration fee and initial assessment fee.</li> </ol> <p>The Registration process is completed once the project owner accepted and signed the proposal, and paid the registration fee and downpayment for your project.</p> <h5 id='certification-how-do-you-register-for-advancing-net-zero-philippines-certification-share-your-data-and-case-studies-guidance-notes-management-representative'>Management Representative</h5> <p>The project owner must assign a <strong>Management Representative (MR)</strong>, who will serve as the official representative of the project owner. The MR must:</p> <ul> <li>Be employed by the project owner and part of the senior management;</li> <li>Coordinate and communicate with the certification manager for the process; and</li> <li>Provide timely decision making for the efficient implementation of the process.</li> </ul> <aside class="warning"><p><b>Projects are only allowed to register under the latest version of the <i>Advancing Net Zero Rating Schemes</i> for certification.</b> To ensure that your project is assessed under your preferred version, register your project while the version is still active.</p></aside> <h1 id='scope-and-applicability'>Scope and Applicability</h1> <p>The Scope and Applicability defines the life cycle stages and project types that the rating scheme is applicable to. </p> <p>For projects that are interested in undergoing certification that are not included in the Scope and Applicability, please contact the <em><strong>ANZ/PH</strong></em> Program Secretariat at <a href="mailto:ANZPH@philgbc.org">ANZPH@philgbc.org</a> to confirm whether the tool is applicable for your project.</p> <h2 id='scope-and-applicability-life-cycle-stages'>Life Cycle Stages</h2> <p>The <em>Advancing Net Zero Energy Rating Scheme — Version 1.0.0</em> is applicable to projects that are at the design, construction and operations stages.</p> <table><thead> <tr> <th>Tag</th> <th>Name</th> <th>Description</th> </tr> </thead><tbody> <tr> <td><span class="badge stage">S1<span class="tooltiptext">Stage 1 — Design</span></span></td> <td>Stage 1 — Design</td> <td><p>The design stage includes the conception and strategic planning of the project goals, expected outcomes and requirements.
