Solomon cleaved to them and he held and he loved them. <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>And he had seven hundred wives, free women, and three hundred Concubines, and his wives seduced his heart. <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>And it was in the time of the old age of Solomon, his wives seduced his heart after other gods and his heart was not perfect with LORD JEHOVAH his God like the heart of David his father. <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And Solomon went after Astruth, goddess of the Tsidonians, and after Kemosh the feared goddess of the Moabites, and after Malkom, god of the children of Amon. <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And Solomon did evil before LORD JEHOVAH and was not fully after LORD JEHOVAH as David his father. <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>Then Solomon built a high place for Kemosh, the feared god of Moab, in the mountain that was before Jerusalem, and for Malkom, the feared idol of the children of Amon. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And thus he did for all his foreign wives who were placing incense and sacrificing to their gods.<p> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH was angry against Solomon, because he turned aside his heart from LORD JEHOVAH God of Israel who had been revealed to him two times. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And he commanded him about this matter, that he would not go after the gods of the Gentiles, and he did not keep the thing that LORD JEHOVAH commanded him. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH said to Solomon: &#8220;Because this has happened with you and you have not kept my statutes and my judgments and my commandments that I commanded you, I shall rip the kingdom from your hand and I shall give it to your Servant. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>However in your days I will not do it, because of David my Servant; from the hand of your son I shall rip it <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>However all of the kingdom I shall not rip up. One tribe I shall give to your son, because of David my Servant, and because of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen.<p> <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH raised up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite, for he was of the seed of the Kings in Edom <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And when David desolated Edom, when Yuab General of the army went up to bury the slain and he killed every male in Edom <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>Because Yuab dwelt there six months and all Israel with him until he killed every male in Edom <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And Hadad and the Edomite men of the Servants of his Father fled to enter Egypt, and Hadad the boy was little. <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And they arose from Midian and they entered Paran, and they led men with them from Paran and they entered Egypt to Pharaoh, King of Egypt, and he gave him a house and bread, and he said to him: &#8220;Dwell with me.&#8221; And he gave land to him. <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And Hadad found love in the eyes of Pharaoh, and he gave a wife to him, the sister of his wife, the sister of Takhpis the Great. <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And the sister of Takhpis bore to him Gabuth his son, and Takhpis weaned Gabuth within the house of Pharaoh, and Gabuth was in the house of Pharaoh among the sons of Pharaoh. <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Yuab General of the army was dead, and Hadad said to Pharaoh: &#8220;Send me. I shall go to my land.&#8221; <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>Pharaoh said to him: &#8220;What have you lacked with me that now you seek that you will go to your land?&#8221; He said to him: &#8220;Nothing, but send and let me go.&#8221;<p> <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH raised up to him an adversary, Hedrun, son of Elida, who had fled from the presence of Hedarezar, King of Tsuba, his Master. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>And men gathered to him and he was Captain of a band of robbers, and when David killed them, they went to Darmsuq and they dwelt in it, and Hadad reigned in Darmsuq. <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon for the evil that he did, and Hadad distressed the children of Israel and he reigned over Edom.<p> <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>And Yorbaam, son of Nebat the Ephrathite, from Tsedra, and the name of his mother was Tserua a widow woman, the Servant of Solomon, he lifted the hand against King Solomon. <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>And this was the matter which lifted up the hand against King Solomon, when he built Melu and he shut the breach of the city of David. <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>And the man Yorbaam was a mighty man of the army, and King Solomon saw the boy, that he was a mighty one of the army, and he gave him authority over all the Servants of the house of Yoseph. <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>And it was at that time, and Yorbaam went out from Jerusalem, and Akhiah the Prophet the Shilonite found him on the road, and Akhiah was covered in a new garment, and both were alone in a field. <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And Akhiah grasped on the new garment which was on him and he tore it into twelve pieces. <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>And he said to Yorbaam: &#8220;Take for yourself ten pieces, because thus says LORD JEHOVAH God of Israel, &#8216;Behold I tear the kingdom from the hand of Solomon and I shall give you ten tribes. <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>And one tribe shall be for him, because of David my Servant, and because of the city Jerusalem, for I have delighted in it more than in all the tribes of Israel. <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>Because he has forsaken me and he has worshiped Astruth, goddess of the Tsidonians, and Kemush, god of Moabites, and Malcum, god of the children of Amon, and he has not walked in my ways, and he has not done what is beautiful before me, and he has not kept my statutes and my judgments like David his father. <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-34.htm#aramaic"><b>34</b></a></span>And I shall not take all the kingdom from his hands, but I shall make him great all the days of his life, because of David my Servant whom I chose, for he kept my commands and my statutes. <A name="36"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-35.htm#aramaic"><b>35</b></a></span>And I shall take the kingdom from the hands of his son and I shall give to you ten tribes. <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-36.htm#aramaic"><b>36</b></a></span>And his son I shall give one tribe, because my Servant David will have a lamp all the days before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there. <A name="38"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-37.htm#aramaic"><b>37</b></a></span>And I shall give to you and you shall reign according to the desire of your soul and you shall be King over Israel. <A name="39"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-38.htm#aramaic"><b>38</b></a></span>And if you will listen to all that I commanded you, and you will walk in my ways, and you will do what is beautiful before me, and you shall keep my covenant and my commandments according to what David my Servant did, I shall be with you, and I shall build a trustworthy household for you, according to what I built for David my Servant, and I shall give you Israel. <A name="40"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-39.htm#aramaic"><b>39</b></a></span>And I shall afflict the seed of David because of this, however, not for all days. <A name="41"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-40.htm#aramaic"><b>40</b></a></span>And Solomon sought to kill Yorbaam, and Yorbaam arose and fled to Egypt to Shishaq King of Egypt, and he was in Egypt until Solomon was dead.<p> <A name="42"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/11-41.htm#aramaic"><b>41</b></a></span>And the rest of the words of Solomon, and everything that he did, and his wisdom,
