Our ranking improved for 2023 as a result of higher scores related to our research citations and for our teaching.</p> <h3><strong> Times Higher Education’s Impact Rankings:</strong></h3> <p>University of Galway has surged into the top 50 universities in the world for sustainability and is now the Number 1 university in Ireland for sustainable development. The 2022 edition of Times Higher Education’s Impact Rankings places the University 47th out of 1,406 institutions, moving up from 8<span style="font-size: 13.3333px;">2nd</span> position last year. The report also puts University of Galway as the 5th best university in the world for Sustainable Development - Responsible Consumption and Production. The assessment is based on submissions from universities in line with the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
