The Trusts <a href="https://www.somersetheritage.org.uk/downloads/publications/Somerset_Archaeological_Handbook_2017-6.pdf">Historic Environment Service Archaeological Handbook</a> states that digital archive material must be deposited with a suitable Trusted Digital Repository that specialises in archaeological archives. Currently only the Archaeology Data Service (ADS) meets these criteria.</p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-3688" src="/app/uploads/2022/05/org956.png" alt="" width="200" height="73" /></p> <h2>Museums Worcestershire</h2> <p>Museums Worcestershire <a href="https://researchworcestershire.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/depositing-archaeological-archives-with-museums-worcestershire-october-2015.pdf">is working in partnership</a> with Archaeology Data Service (ADS). All briefs for archaeological work issued by Worcestershire County Council or Worcester City Council will include a condition requiring digital archives to be deposited with ADS.</p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-3698" src="/app/uploads/2022/05/org1964.png" alt="" width="250" height="87" /></p> <h2>Wiltshire Museum</h2> <p>Wiltshire Museum <a href="https://www.wiltshiremuseum.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Deposition-Guidelines_Wiltshire-Museum_Archaeology-Archives_2019-09-27-v1.1.pdf">deposition guidelines</a> require digital archives to be transferred to a Trusted Digital Repository (such as the Archaeology Data Service) to ensure preservation and accessibility. All born digital material MUST be archived digitally (subject to the agreed Selection Strategy and version control). Contractors should not create born digital data unless they are willing to deposit such data with a Trusted Digital Archive.</p> </div> </div> </div> </main> <div class="m-newsletter"> <div> <h2>Sign up for the ADS newsletter</h2> </div> <div> <p>This quarterly e-newsletter will keep you up-to-date with all ADS's news and events.</p> <iframe data-w-token="dc0ca223c8244c1c3995" data-w-type="pop-in" frameborder="0" scrolling="yes" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="https://037ty.mjt.lu/wgt/037ty/onh/form?c=5af88a23" width="100%"></iframe> <iframe data-w-token="dc0ca223c8244c1c3995" data-w-type="trigger" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="https://037ty.mjt.lu/wgt/037ty/onh/trigger?c=3de6f915" width="100%"></iframe> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://app.mailjet.com/pas-nc-pop-in-v1.js"></script> </div> </div> <div class="m-site-footer"> <div class="main-footer"> <div class="logos"> <ul> <li> <a href="https://www.york.ac.uk/" <h3><img src="https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/app/uploads/2022/06/logo-uoy.svg" style="width: 150px" </h3> </a> </li> <li> <a href="http://doi.org/10.17616/R3MW23" <h3><img src="https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/app/uploads/2022/06/logo-re3data-color.svg" style="width: 198px" </h3> </a> </li> <li> <a href="https://doi.org/10.34894/GZFRVY" <h3><img src="https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/app/uploads/2022/06/logo-core-trust-seal-color.png" style="width: px" </h3> </a> </li> <li> <a href="https://www.worlddatasystem.org/" <h3><img src="https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/app/uploads/2022/06/logo-wds-color.jpg" style="width: px" </h3> </a> </li> </ul> </div> <div class="social"> <h3>Follow us</h3> <ul> <li><a href="https://www.facebook.com/archaeology.data.service/"><i class="fa-brands fa-facebook"></i></a></li> <li><a href="https://twitter.com/ADS_Update"><i class="fa-brands fa-x-twitter"></i></a></li> <li><a href="https://www.instagram.com/archaeologydataservice/?hl=en"><i class="fa-brands fa-instagram"></i></a></li> <li><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/archaeology-data-service/"><i class="fa-brands fa-linkedin"></i></a></li> </ul> </div> </div> <div class="footer-navigation"> <nav aria-label="Footer navigation"> <div class="menu-footer-navigation-container"><ul id="menu-footer-navigation" class="menu"><li id="menu-item-6820" class="menu-item menu-item-type-custom menu-item-object-custom menu-item-6820"><a href="https://www.york.ac.uk/about/legal-statements/">University of York legal statements</a></li> <li id="menu-item-3156" class="menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-page menu-item-3156"><a href="https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/terms-and-conditions/">Website terms and conditions</a></li> <li id="menu-item-5469" class="menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-page menu-item-5469"><a href="https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/cookie-policy/">Cookie policy</a></li> <li id="menu-item-3157" class="menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-page menu-item-3157"><a href="https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/privacy/">Privacy policy</a></li> <li id="menu-item-3373" class="menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-page menu-item-3373"><a href="https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/accessibility/">Accessibility</a></li> <li id="menu-item-3951" class="menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-page menu-item-3951"><a href="https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/contact/">Contact</a></li> </ul></div> </nav> <div class="legal"> © Archaeology Data Service 2024 </div> </div> </div> <!-- Matomo --> <script> var _paq = window._paq = window._paq || [];
