for it is written, He will give his angels charge concerning thee, and they shall bear thee up <i>as</i> in their hands, least at any time thou shouldst dash thy foot against a stone:<p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/4-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span><i>but</i> Jesus said unto him, <FR>it is also written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.<Fr><p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/4-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Again the devil taketh Him to a very high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
