(May 7, 2019) – William (Bill) A. Mekrut was elected chair of the AAA Board of Directors at the 116<sup>th</sup> AAA Annual Meeting in Chandler, AZ on May 7, 2019. More than 230 delegates and club officials representing the federation’s 34 affiliated clubs in the U.S. and Canada were in attendance. This leadership team — drawing from diverse professional experience across the finance, insurance, healthcare and automotive industries as well as the arts and education — will guide AAA to meet the evolving needs of members through value-added travel, automotive, insurance services and partnerships.</p> <p>Mekrut has been an active board member with AAA for 11 years both at a club in his home state of Rhode Island, and nationally. Additionally, he serves as a member of Providence College President’s Council, as an advisory board member of the Providence College School of Business and is a former chair of the Board of Delta Dental (Rhode Island).
