<HTML> <HEAD> </HEAD> <BODY BGCOLOR=white> <CENTER> <TABLE BORDER=4><TR><TD><IMG SRC="banner.gif"></TD></TR></TABLE> <P> <H1>Mars Global Surveyor<br>Mars Orbiter Camera<br>Geodesy Campaign Mosaic</H1> <P> </CENTER> <p> This mosaic was assembled from Wide Angle red images (primarily those acquired in May-June 1999) from the Mars Orbiter Camera. <p> The mosaic has been produced at 64 and 256 pixels/degree. In the initial release, all quadrangles were complete except for the polar regions (MC-01 and MC-30) and areas on quads MC-24 through MC-29 south of 60S. The south polar coverage was completed in February 2002 (mapping cycle E13) and the polar quads updated in August 2004. The band of latitude between 60S and 65S still needs to be reprocessed. <p> The mosaic is laid out in the same manner as the USGS Mars Chart (the 1:5,000,000 series of hardcopy maps produced by the U. S. Geological Survey). Each quadrangle is in simple cylindrical projection and geographic latitude, using the same spheroid and prime meridian as that used by USGS for MDIM 2.0 (Re = 3396.0 km, Rp = 3376.8 km, W0 = 176.7215 °).
