Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology was founded by philanthropist and entrepreneur <a href="/wiki/B._S._Abdur_Rahman" title="B. S. Abdur Rahman">B.S. Abdur Rahman</a> in 1984 as B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Engineering College, one of the first self-financing engineering institutions in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu.
